  • Michael Breed is worth every penny the Golf Channel pays him and more!

  • omg, every video i saw i put on my fav.. thnx

  • Ping Zing 2 Irons 3-PW, SW Black Dot. All Original, Reg Shaft FOR SALE!! MY CHANNEL FOR MORE DETAILS AND A VIDEO!!!!!!!

  • this drill will actually cure OTT move teach you how to bump and turn hips using lower body to initiate downswing and finally teach you how/feeling to drop arms down into that elusive inside path, he should have said how many things this actually fixes...Best Damn drill ever and only one you need for your game period...

  • BEST DRILL EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I was watching you Mike on the Golf Channel and you were talking about what the clubs you had in your bag. You indicated that you had a 9.5 degree driver and it was 1 degree open so it played more lke a 10.5 degree driver. You might want to brush up on how this works, when you open the club with the hozel adjutments it actually reduces the effective yardage.

  • Thanks I've been struggling for months. This tips has fixed the problem!!

  • keep hitting 0, the way he says hi is hilarious

  • Finally a tip that works. His other tip on Lag had to do with the wrists which was a completely useless tip since it makes you arm swing

  • Michael Heeb

  • If you start the down swing with your upper body "the sholders" you will come over the top. You must start the down swing with your lower body "your hips" and rotate toward the target clearing the hips first and dropping your hands back down the swing plane. The hips turn first, the shoulders turn wit the hips, and the hands drop.

  • I've only just come across this video and wanted to comment on the 'over the top' move than some people have suggested this drill encourages.

I think some people have just misunderstood the purpose of this drill. The idea of this drill is to give the golfer the sensation of the shoulders rotating before the arms. So the arms will play a passive role and be activated by upper body rotation. This drill just teaches correct timing of shoulders starting the move down into the ball.

  • This is a really bad tip for most amateurs Id say-it will exaggerate the OTT move. You want to 'bump' the left hip while keeping the shoulders closed as late as possible. Its a good tip if you have a none grip related hook"

  • This drill is what I've been looking for! I have a pretty bad hook that I havent been able to fix due in part to not being able to create any lag and forcing myself to swing with my arms ahead or in complete unison with my hips. Doing this drill 50 times a day really helped me out. Huge!

  • over-the-top will not kill a golf swing. Failure to rotate the body will kill a golf swing every single time. Some of the best pros have mini over the top swings. Angel Jimenez is a prime example. But he squares the face at impact. 90% of amateurs do not rotate sufficiently to produce a good golf swing.

  • @chapter13bmw Most amateurs will never play to a good standard with an over the top move. Yes, lots of pros eg J B Holmes, have a slight over the top move (Goosen is another, as was Lietzski), but its marginal and they come over a flat backswing to get back on plane. Amateurs come way over it and have to have an open clubface, otherwise they would hit it miles left. Roundhousing the shoulders and too flat backswing are normally the culrprits

  • @chapter13bmw no crap! don't be so literal. breed never said over-the-top was a swing killer. HOWEVER, IT IS for high handicappers who don't understand the mechanics of the golf swing. i've given hundreds of lessons and never have i seen an amateur play a consistent, controlled, over the top fade like Jimenez. comparing tour pros to amateurs is comical!

breed is good at what he does. that's why he makes videos and you watch them!

  • @chapter13bmw I agree, look at Craig Parry

  • Isn´t this drill forcing an over the top move?

  • exactly what i was thinking.

  • well not really. I think it might the angle your watching. His drill is not a focusing on swing plane but rather how to create lag and proper release in order to get more distance. The unfortnate thing is that the show is so show that he can't squeeze impact position which is a critical factor in distance. i feel sorry for the guy cause he has to talk so fast to address so many different things. Hard to learn golf that way. This is a tips show. Use youtube to glue all the other pieces together.
