the only bad thing about this match was the fact that i watched it now and that i knew owen couldn't win (bc i knew he never he never won the title). what a great match tho, those two really played great off each other and its a shame we never saw owen's full potential. Just imagine if Brett had still been with WWE in the attitude era (1998 -2002) The matches he could have had against HHH, The Rock and the feud with Austin could have gone so much further, maybe to the point of a career match around the time of Wrestlemania 18/19. Also he could have worked with Angle, Benoit, Jericho! There would have been so many more guys he could have great matches with!

I just meant that under the promotional skills of the wwe during its most popular period rather than being so poorly used in wcw and having his career ended by Bill Goldberg, Brett Hart could have had some truly great matches in that time with the best workers :)

@Antrizzle2009 - The Undertaker hadn't been on WWF/E TV since the Royal Rumble when Yokozuna and pretty much all the heels "killed" him. The whole PPV had been built around his return. That's the best explanation I can give you for why Undertaker Vs. Undertaker went last.

@Kannebas That's true, I do remember them making a big deal about his return. And this was the first time he actually tweeked his character. I dunno, it just seemed to me that Bret's title run at this time was always overlooked. If you recall, in the PPV's in '94 where Bret was the champ, he didn't main event any of them. That always seemed strange to me, especially considering Bret/Owen was THE fued of that year.

@Antrizzle2009 - You're right. That completely slipped my mind that Bret's matches never went last in '94 (Wrestlemania X notwithstanding). I've come to the conclusion that (as of now) Bret is the Larry Holmes of the WWE. Holmes is overlooked because he was the guy who was the Heavyweight Champion between Ali and Tyson. Bret is overlooked because he was the face of the company between Hogan and Austin.

@ElLocito2000 I think that's nostalgia talking. Cena/Orton are not as great as the Hart's imo, but they can still put on some good matches. Besides, it's all the "real" hitting in wrestling that leads to stuff like the Benoit tragedy. Just like I don't need people in movies to get shot for real, I don't need my wrestlers to get beaten down for real. That's what MMA & boxing is for. This is a show, a story, a fantasy, and that's fine with me.

Bret Hart's in the Hall of Fame so I don't see why they wouldn't induct Owen. With all due respect to Owen, Bret had a better career but look at how he left the company. Owen was a great wrestler/entertainer/family man/and person in general plus he died while entertaining the fans. I mean they inducted Koko B Ware so Owen should be inducted easily
