Cullinan played Murali very well... scored quite a few hundreds both in South Africa and Sri Lanka in the late 90s and early 2000s... Robs posted all three series :)
Rahul Dravid - a true modern-day great player - gets his first century! Against an attack comprising of Donald, Pollock and Klusener, that's got to be special.
Prasad was very handy in this series and for once, Srinath wasn't a lone warrior. Good to see that the attractive Cullinan scoring a match-saving hundred. One of the criminally under-rated batsmen of the 90s, IMHO! Take out Warne and his record looks excellent!
@TheSinnical One of the best knocks I saw from Cullinan was his century on a Galle turner against Murali. He also played Kumble pretty well, so I am not sure if you could call him a bad player of spin.
It's just that he woefully struggled against Warne. I am of the opinion that the issue was more psychological than technical. It's difficult to realise that you are someone's bunny and have the mental strength to pull yourself out of the rut.
@Imrankniazi : didn't know abt cullinan's success against murali; though i'd take it with pinch of salt, Murali turned into a great bowler only towards late 90s, this series must be during his early years but anyhow, the bunny tag is often hyped up by the the media.& of course the bowler himself...many stories of true dominance go unnoticed..like the hold McGrath had over Lara & Tendulkar :)
@TheSinnical Cullinan's century against Murali came in 2000, when the latter was devastating visiting batting line-ups left, right and centre. It was in a losing cause and Cullinan scored 114 out of a team total of 238. It was one of the best knocks I saw by a right-hander against Murali. Vaughan's match-saving Kandy knock and Sehwag's 201 would be on the top of the list too.
@TheSinnical Yeah it seems just the dumb cricket fans know about Cullinan! When Prince toured here in 05 the talk was of him being a bunny. Seems too that cricinfo's staff are pretty dumb with this stuff, takes teams of guys to come up with well known facts all the time. Do they even watch cricket? I actually made a video of all Prince's 12 dismissals a few years ago on my old old channel but youtube took it down.
chek out dat middle order..dravid,schin,ganguly,azhar n laxman...luks solid now..though apart from schin n azhar ,d other 3 wer in der debut yr of test cricket den

@Imrankniazi : like Cullinan, there were many batsmen who batted excellently against pace but not spin--i can recall Robin Smith as 1 such batsman:)

*coincidentally, cricinfo today did a great piece on 'bunnies' ..taking cue frm astonishing success of Hafeez against Devon Smith

you'd be surprised to know that Cullinan wasnt the REAL bunny of Warne :)

remember being very disappointed at this match being drawn , partly due to rain and partly due to Cullinan 1

Rain denied the victory in this match.
