The G forces generated mean if you are loose in the seat you move about a lot so it has to fit you perfectly IN YOUR race kit.
Behind the drivers head there is a bumper pad you cannot tell if this will force the head into an unsafe downward facing attitude if you are not wearing your lid.
These boys actually KNOW what they are doing...............
I really do wonder if McLaren intends to use their current livery after they officially end their partnership with Mercedes. It would be awesome if they returned to the day-glo red even if Malboro doesn't sponsor them.
@tsubodzuka If they wanted they could probably go back to that livery now because vodafone seems to have a fondness for almost the same rocket-red colour that was originally on the Mclaren because of the Marlboro sponsorship...
@BAR006JBTS Sadly it won't happen, the red and white livery was down to McLaren being sponsored by Marlboro, thanks to the EU tobacco sponsorship is banned, so our kids will never get to see the old Marlboro McLaren, JPS Lotus, Rothmans Williams etc.
On another note, who will replace Mercedes as the engine supplier?
@danb1990 You're right about that but it would still be nice. On the engine note, I have no idea and I don't even know what to think. You're a more experienced fan than me, so I think you could probably guess better than me
@BAR006JBTS They only had that colour because of Marllboro, and seeing they are not allowed to be a sponsor in f1 anymore why would Mclaren change colour?
you could see the f1 car isn't really a car but a physics bender... if they could put the engine in button's nose and steer it without a steering wheel, invent the weightless wheel the mclaren engineers would do it.
@bidong they should build 2 exact replicas of the 1990 cars and have lewis and jenson race it out at monaco or spa just to see how times have changed regarding f1

@copperkipper1 nope, they can see just enough. but they'd be slower because the center of mass would be higher. :)

@danb1990 Mclaren have Merc engines until 2015 but they do have an option to stay using their engines after 2015.

What a great car! The 80s cars have much more soul than the modern cars!

He's probably mentioning the increased amount of peripheral vision, and how more exposed he feels.
Proper F1 cars there were, especially in 1985-86, where turbo boost was at it's maximum.
