I've got zxing barcode scanner(just downloaded it). Problem is when a barcode is scanned no detailed info pops up. Do i need Scan and is this why no info pops up?
i wonder how much data is transfered from the net per search, This would be relevant for those using a "pay-as-you" go plan, instead of a dedicated unlimited data plan. I like the whole trend to make everything web-connected with android, but i wonder how many users can actually afford unlimited data plans, and how much each use of this app actually would cost the user (fees accrued per kb of data transfered from data-net to phone)
I hope it has a "Save" option so we can have a list of recently scanned items, so I don't always have to carry the item with me when I need to recover it's location...
Hahahaha I am working on an Android app to do exactly this! Welp, now I don't need to finish it! Good stuff and well done. Hope you do well in the challenge.

Does the Android API support barcode reading or do I have to write barcode recognition routines from scratch?

"Google Android App. Contest" has a big list that's for most a must.

This is brilliant! You should also make it work with book related social networking sites... Shelfari etc.
