He also owns multiple high end restaurants and got to where he is in his career by being a great cook. There's a reason aspiring chefs go on that show and take his ridicule and it's not because of his charming personality.

the only customers he treats like that are the ones that come up and give him attitude personally and act like some entitled brat. The customers who complain through the waiter, he takes it to Ramsay, Ramsay reams out the appropriate chef, and then all efforts get made to please the customer that had a problem with their dish.
Ergo the ones that act like dicks get put in their respective places. It's that simple. As long as you're acting like a normal person would at a restaurant, you'd be fine

@warblerab Regardless of how he treats the occasional customer, the guy is still rated one of if not THE best chef in the world, and with how many restaurants he owns and runs successfully, I'd say he's doing a damn good job. Every one of the people who comes up to his pass is ASKING to be insulted with how they act all high n mighty.
100 people wont eat at his restaurant, but the couple hundred thousand waiting world wide for reservations to open up will, knowing what he can be like.
