Very good Brother, Only one suggestion (respectfully of course)
When feathering like that, you may want to grasp the head of the axe. One finger as you suggested works, but there is so much more control, and with feathering, the weight of the blade will do the rest of the work for you.
Thank you for sharing this video! I just picked up a Condor axe and am working on fine tuning my skills. I love the fact that I can "hammer" with a axe. I recently chipped one of my knives again.
I hear so often "axes are not worth the weight to carry into the woods" from people who obviously don't have axe skills. Who think that axes are just chopping tools if you want to split fire wood or chop a tree down.
It is good to see someone who is spreading the info of how to become knowledgeable skilled and practiced with an axe.
Yes you can do a lot of finer detail work with an axe, and as you said even skinning an animal.
never thought to bevel the top of the stake. thanks

as with all things keep it simple, the more you practice the easier it becomes. thats the reason i love your vids, simple, safe and assured.
thanks.

Nice video and very clear pronunciation! would take axe or hatchet aswell over any knife in case i could take only one tool with me in forest.

@nightwalker2830 if you mean the axe, it's one of the wetterlings axes. they are pretty good for the price to preformance ratio.
