  • dianno is the real maiden singer i think fuckin BADASSMOTHAFUCKER

  • I can relate to this song so much in my life...

This song is so amazing... It makes me cry

  • I hate it, but I have to say: 4 guys are fucking "Hip-Hoppers"!

Postskriptum: Great Vid! Thank you for uploading! Pauls voice is so awesome!

  • 4 people are normal world

  • I love Paul Di'anno's voice. He's the man.

  • this song is..............

  • Bruce Dickinson, and Paul Dianno, both fucking amazing metal vocalists!!!!

  • GREATEST SONG OF THE WORLD!!!!!!!!

  • Is anyone sure tht it's not dave who's doing the solo's? The studio version solos sound to much like dave, but live, they sound more like adrian...

  • @pizani666 Hey it's great to come across someone with an ear for this stuff. Yeah, that's totally Adrian during the intro solo. Dave doesn't hold his notes that way, or bend notes that way either - hard to explain. Definitely Dave on the bridge solo though.

  • @binyon44

One thing I love about the guys is you can always tell who is soloing in he song. Adrian is very methodical and compositional. His solos are the most arranged and he uses a lot of techniques from his Blues background. Davey is Mister Rubber Fingers and has this wild fluid thing going in his solos. I know there are terms for what he does but they are escaping me at the moment. Janick's solos are erratic and angular. All great! First solo not Davey but Adrian - second Davey

  • Great song was hoping they would reunite with DiAnno

    this year.

  • @hectorcelestino

That's not going to happen for so many reasons, one of which is that fact Paul is in jail.

  • Música muito fudida !!

    Up The Irons !

  • Warum sind die alten Aufnahmen besser als heutzutage? Ganz einfach, die Technik war schlechter als die Musiker. Und das hört man...

  • this is not Dennis, but adrian ;)

  • What a song... definitely my funeral song!

  • Epic delivery by Paul Di'Anno! By some freak of nature, Adrian's solo just doesn't come close to Dennis Stratton's...and I have infinite respect for H!

  • my favourite iron maiden song from my favourite iron maiden album! paul and bruce both did awesome jobs in their own ways.. oh my this live is just... no words to describe

  • What else can I say but "UP THE IRONS!"

  • Di'anno with his songs and the two first Maiden's albuns, and Dickinson with his musics and the rest, (except Blaze phase)

  • @WateverBr I wonder how they would have sounded with Ronnie James Dio. Wasn't he there first choice. I remember reading somewhere that Blaze wasn't there second choice. Blaze wasn't a bad singer its just that his voice didn't seem to fit the maiden sound.

  • @nined5thclick Yeah... aai think Blaze's voice doesn't sound Maiden... but his solo songs are very good.

But Maiden with Dio, would be the best band in the world.

  • @WateverBr Dude, Dio was like the greatest singer alive but, Bruce can't be changed. That's just it, his to good and fit for Maiden

  • wow beautiful

  • one of my favorite songs of all time. Dianno's voice is excellent and guitar solos are also one of greatest all time

  • this is like the best thing that a human mind can create it's just perfect

  • I had this Live plus 1 in a Japanese sleeve when I was about 16 back in 81. Loved everything about the band at that time. What I would give to be back there now, sex, drugs and rock n roll, yes indeedy!!

  • I wish I could live in that times.. Today's music is just pop and hiphop shit, just some good metal bands..

  • my favorite song off the first album....hard to believed i owned this on vinyl....wish i still had it

  • monos toy k panta monos mad sad

  • although the solos are totally diffrent from the studio version, they are still briliant, especially the first one

  • @blacksaintos The first solo was made by the one and only Adrian Smith ,not Dennis Stratton!!!!

By the way,a killer solo,as usual when you mention Smith's solos...

  • Paul Dianno was awsome. Great style.

  • GREAT live version!!!

    I love it!!!!!

    Thanks

  • iron maiden unas de las canciones que mas me llega

    muy buena

    del momento metal balada

  • also his voice was broken

  • Does anyone why Paul left the group, he had the perfect voice, and this song is proof.

  • @BTNH108464 He was kicked out due to drug addiction.

  • @lolz146 thanks, that sucks i guess.

  • @BTNH108464 yes it does

  • Maiden Japan with Adrian Smith

  • This is the Best Músic in the World!!

  • paul is the best ever! and this is in my favorite maiden song......come on how could you not love girls drinking plasma wine?

  • di anno is the ROCKER!!! \m/

  • I think the first maiden album is fucking perfect and it's my favorite maiden album by far... "The Number Of The Beast" is too good too, but in my opinion "Iron Maiden" & "Killers" are better...

  • wow i'm a huge iron maiden fan but I didn't expected someone would even be as good als bruce, maybe even better!! I think I must certainly look up their first albums.

sorry for my engish, I'm not very good at it since I'm from belgium, where it isn't even spoken.

  • this makes me very emotional

    Paul does that to me

you can really feel how he pours his soul onto the song

  • Excelente canción, excelente vocalista...

  • I still prefer Iron Maiden with Paul after all those years, Bruce is too theatrical and goofy, Paul was much more real.

  • While Maiden remained great even after Paul, Paul was much more soulful, and Bruce was a more cliche' metal singer. Both good, but I too prefer Paul.

  • @HKondor8

I agree! Bruce has lost his great voice by now anyway. Saw Maiden a few years ago, and compared to 1999 it was nothing. Seen Paul solo and he is such a great person, really down to earth, and takes time to talk to fans etc. He is not what he used to either, but the man can still rock. Maiden w. Paul was brilliant.

  • melhor musica do IRON MAIDEN

  • im so glad someone else picked up that it was adrian on guitar a true maiden fan sir

  • paul was a good singer and underrated

  • true

  • Paul Dianno's voice is wonderful !!

  • las malas cabezas

  • Cool vocals here...guitar leads were WAY better and emotional on the original cut though.

  • @jDemegod completly agreed

  • It is Adrian Smith on the guitar not Dennis Stratton!

  • INCREDIBLE

  • man whyyyy dont they ever play this live now

  • @kudurrumaqlu, I make myself the same question man, such a great song. Dianno´s voice fits perfectly with those chords

  • @kudurrumaqlu can't do it w/o Paul Di'Anno...

  • this song was most likely played in japan and not the marquee, as it does not feature on any of the official release's for the ep live!! +one. not on the uk, jap or greek release's at least

  • Great song!!! one of my favorites from the first Maiden album. Paul Dianno's voice is just wonderful. Bruce Dickenson is awesome but I think Dianno's voice is suited best for the first two Maiden albums.

  • Yes, young voice was.

However Bruce's voice sounds best now.

  • @diomiami i agree i likes bruce voice 2 but theres times hes a bit 2 much for my liking unlike pauls his voice was perfect for everysong

  • LOVE THIS SONG!!!! Di'anno was such a great singer! Both of them are really great vocalist :)

  • Paul WAS a great vocalist in the day.

  • @luzbelica1709 i've just go tinto maiden over the past year and i prefer Paul Dianno

  • @l7ebels Correct Fucking Paul was powerful clean and hardcore one crazy mother fucker too if maiden would have kept Dianno you crazy fucking head bangers would have been going to see motorhead with the punks and you would have bypassed the eyeliner lipstick phase of motley crue and posion in the 90's poor bastards.

  • im not sure

but i think that this song never have been played with bruce

  • With Paul Di'anno yeah!

  • MAIDEN JAPAN

  • THIS IS FROM MAIDEN JAPAN NOT MARAQUEE

  • maraquee lol ,its marquee.

  • dickinson is god.

i'm so sad because of paul...

he was good back there....but now...

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah, Bruce may be able to sing at a ridiculously high pitch but he doesn't have range. His so called deep voice sounds like a 13 year old kid trying to sound like an adult. Paul can do falsetto and sing fairly deeply, and Blaze is pretty much a combination of both, sounding a bit more aggressive.

The fact that they've never played this song live after Di'Anno left proves that even they agree his rendition cannot be topped.

  • You are an entirely worthless person.

  • if you are talking about dieschaertzmann i gave you a thumb up to your comment if not too bad i did it already.up the irons

  • I indeed was talking about Dieschartz. Thanks for the thumbs up!

    Up the hammers!

  • I like Paul's era songs in his voice, Bruce's songs in his voice abnd Blayze's songs in his voice. I think that technically Bruce might be the best of all three but the other two guys weren't bad at all. Their work has also survived the test of time and is testament to the fact that Steve Harris has been really good in choosing his singers.

  • I have been waiting my entire life to hear a live version of this song

  • Same. I thought Maiden never did it live!

Paul Di'Anno performs it live every now and then tho. Check out the Killers album "South American Assault: Live" Paul perfroms it on there with his solo band, as well as a few other Maiden songs from his time.

  • Paul lost the plot he had to go.... shame!?!

    Up the irons!

  • No, this is not from Live +One, neither the Japanese or Greek versions, this is from the gatefold Japanese fan-only Maiden Japan recorded May 24th 81.

  • not trying to start the whole hu is better dickinson or di'anno argument, but i reckon generally di anno had a much better voice for this stuff, and prolly in general, not dissing bruce at all tho just saying,

but anyhoo. this song is just beautiful plain and simple.

  • Guys, relax ! I guess you people haven't read my original comment where I say that this song will always sound the best in Di'Anno's voice. Someone replied to be by saying the Bruce's version is better just like Hendrix's cover of Watchtower is better.

My response was to that comment. I own ALL IM albums and know their history by heart. Jeez !

  • Paul and bruce are two excellent vocalists for this genre.

But regardless bruce seems to have had mas reputation due to the time that I take in the band.

It is not necessary to forget of paul who was the beginning and I believe that it he, opened the excellence of the band.

Iron Maiden with his progressive changes is an exceptional band in any epoch.

    Long life to the metal!!!!

  • Bruce is a better singer though....technically

  • great track this!!! thanks for the upload!!!!

  • Can anyone confirm that the 1st solo is definitely Dennis Stratton? It actually sounded like Adrian Smith pretending to be Gary Moore!

  • Well.....is that bad?

  • I am a frim believer of FIRST BATCH IS THE PUREST AND OF THE ESSENCE! This is IRON MAIDEN!! PERIOD! 666, number of the beast or any other are the SPAWN of this PURE ESSENCE! Thank you for this wonderful treat! BRUCE IS GREATE but don't forget the blood and sweat that went in to pave the road! PAUL, my hats off to ya!~

  • well said.

  • Paul Di'Anno was a fantastic singer at the time

-the difference today is that hasn't that much back up from fans, and that he's a victim of fame (which he couldn't handle (boose))

-if you avarage the two years 1980-1981 from Di'Anno; and compare that to Dickinson's average from 1981-1993 + 1999-present; - Bruce is better but Paul is awesome

  • I never said Paul was,nt great at that time in the bands history, cos he was,Iron Maiden and Killers were the 1st metal albums i ever owned and still love them today.

  • Love this song, Paul Dianno was a part of mai dens early years and helped shape the band, Bruce took it to the next level......fantastic vocalist.x2

  • Nobody can OWN another artist's performance, no matter how great they are. Other people don't sound right on songs sung by BD and vice versa. This song will forever be Di'anno's and that is the god awful truth.

  • I'd say Hendrix owns All along the Watchtower more than Bob Dylan, wouldn't you?

  • I like Hendrix's version myself but to be honest, I like it better than almost all of his original work, so that doesn't really say much about his original work making a mark on me. Also, Jimi did a great cover version but if he was that great, he would come up with it himself. It is infinitely easier reworking a tune once you have a completed structure to work with already. This is why originality will always get more marks.

  • Jimi Hendrix made this fuckin' song? Impossible.

  • What the hell are you talking about? This is an Iron Maiden song, written by Steve, after Hendrix died.

  • Best Maiden singer EVER.

  • Perfect song!

  • felicitaciones a quien subió esta versión, la voz de Paul Diano es increíble

  • guys guys guys.. Di anno was fair for maiden standards. Don't act as if he was a grate talent such as Bruce or Dio. As for the song, I really wish they would play it live now.

  • Yeah it sucks, it's the only song off the entire album that they've never performed with Bruce :(

  • ouch, that sucks! i always wondered why he left. i heard it was that he couldn't get a passport to go internationally with the band; maybe the cocaine and the law helped that problem out?

  • He was asked to leave because of his way of behaving and his drag use. Other than that, adding Bruce to the band was along with Smith's add the most important changes to I.M. I can imagine I.M. without Di anno or Gers, but not without any other membr of the band.

  • accutaly paul left he band

  • Really!!!!!

    R u kiddin' me!

    ¬¬

  • Great live performance! :D

  • nice version,

although, in the beginning, paul says: from the first album, this means that was already another one... killers was brought out in 1981, so this live version must me be recorded later, isn't it?

    Still great version

  • Or he could have meant it was their first album ever

  • meravigliosi fantastici

  • love this song :P

  • What ever happened to Di Anno anyway?

  • not a fanboy but Bruce will never be good in D'iannos songs and vice versa samething goes for Blaze.

  • i think bruce owns iron maiden, phantom of the opera, and remember tomorrow

  • hell no, bruce cant sing these songs. hes a good singer but his voice is nothing compare to diannos

  • Di' Anno was not enough for maiden. Through all these years though his voice has "gained" some "depth",i.e., he has significantly improved.

Dickinson was since the beginning a huge talent; moreover it is obvious that Bruce has worked hard apart from being naturally gifted.

  • fuck u di anno sounds fucking amazing live. bruce sounds too happy when singing that's why he shouldnt sing di anno stuff. bruce is great singing his own music, but noone has diannos voice to sing like him

  • I agree ;) Paul is best then Bruce!!!!!!

  • One of the best maiden songs...i love paul dianno´s sing ..i cant understand why they don´t play it now!!

  • Why can't they play this again? Classic. Wish you had a video of this though.

  • This is definitely from Maiden Japan

  • "The only place where you can dream"

Iron Maiden Are the Better Band of the WORLD

  • i guess you want to say "the Best" :P

  • i love this song!!!

  • i love the era with dianno.AWESOME

  • this is form live in japan, this is not form the marquee

  • is this a bootleg 2 or MJ

  • Are you sure it is not the Maiden Japan Version?

  • y wasent it on ep????????

  • Di'anno is the man. As much as I love bruce.... he could NEVER top Di'anno in this song.

    Up the Irons

  • Totally agree with you... 5 stars!

  • one of my favorite iron maiden songs... it must have 5 stars:d
