  • Beautiful video!

  • im learning in the orange belt muhahahaha and owned a blue one doing it =.= belt doesent matter what mathers are your capabilatys

  • @oldieANDgoldie a heart full of pride allways will be a white belt

  • I was looking for some Goju Ryu Katas , but these work also. Lucky there are only a few difference, like Hand-Holding and and stands.

Thanks now i can do them by watching and not only with the memory from Training ^^

  • man, the naha katas are so hard

  • ur kool thx 4 everything ... im givin u thumbs up :)

  • @DeViLak0c This Kata is learnt at 3rd que (Brown Belt) as it is needed for your 2nd que grading :)

  • in which belt do you have to learn it?

  • @DeViLak0c I'm learning it now and i'm a green belt :)

  • @DeViLak0c

    you can learn it at any belt but i woould recomend learning it at brown belt(;

    im a blue belt 2sstripe {JUNIORS RULE} and i know a blue 1 stripe who's learning it.(:

    is this Shito Ryu?

  • @blueloveex3 yes it is this a kata of Shito Ryu

  • @blueloveex3 yes it is this is a kata of Shito Ryu

  • Zen Do Kai teach this as thier black belt kata but start straight after the first grading-from white to yellow.

There are some changes they have made but it is still recognizable.

Much better to learn it from the proper source though.

  • is this a sitei kata? if so i think that in 1:49 his left hand should be touching the right elbow (if im not right please answer everyone makes mistakes) otherwise perfect

  • @TheAlchemist80 The Kata is well executed, the hand shouln't touch the elbow.

  • I am doing this in my Championships next year for team Kata and individual :))

  • Excelente. Muy bueno.

  • his shit

  • Ossu!

    Norm...

  • Shotokan Is Way To Sloppy

  • buen kata!

  • One of my favourite Kata Awsome!!!

  • Love these videos - some of the commentors show their dojo does not stress growth of moral character though.

  • @amrattray At youtube, everyone's technique is like Mabuni, Funakoshi, Miyagui... but few behave like them.

  • @kosoiso:

no,it isn't. You do better learning your style than giving stupid comments!

Where is the hikite in this vid? What Shotokan is all about is hikite, kime and

    a low, low, low dachi.

  • Very good!

  • this is just like we do it in Shotokan skif

  • Brasshandmartialarts should change his name to limpyhandmartialarts since he doesn't have the balls to show us what little skills he claims to have.

  • Diciplina Honor y Gallardia

  • yo no hablo ingles y que putos

  • Osu! Sir, very nice kata, a litttle different from the one I do. Shihan Mike Leverett

    "InsideTheDojo" series.

  • Sterile, lifeless and self alienating. A sad state of kata.

  • much like yourself, domo

  • Japanese kata suck. Sorry. They need to watch and learn from Teruo Chinen and Morio Higanonna. Besides you probably train at some jack off dojo where they test by video. And their idea of free sparring is tag.

  • No kata sucks. Everyone changes Kata...I guarantee you Higaonna sensei does not do his kata the same as An'ich Miyagi did his. I can tell you Kiyohide Shinjo and Breyette Seizan's Sanseiru is not the same as their teacher's Was (Toyama Seiko Sensei). This is due to making the kata different. Mabuni Kenwa was into learning a kata and making it his own style...Mabuni sensei was an okinawan karate teacher...shito ryu is okinawan...you dont know nothing...please...learn something new...shiro obi!

  • Werd. Seriously though if Shito Ryu is a Japanese style, what the hell is shotokan?

  • There isn't only one style in Japan :D Shotokan is also Japanese.

Okinawan in origin and then brought to Japan proper by it's founder, sensei Funakoshi.

  • You 8th dan or 8 year old kid? Who was Mabuni's teacher??

  • Anko tosu, Kanryo Higaonna, Seishō Arakaki, Tawada Shimboku, Sueyoshi Jino and Wu Xianhui (a.k.a Go-Kenki)

Anything else you want to know?

  • Sounds all OKinawan to me.... ? At my dojo they told me karate was supposed to make you a better person and less of a dick head... but clearly that was just marketing.

  • Osu...unfortunately, it is all a gimmick these days...all these MC Dojo's just screw around and teach people how to fight...Karate is about mental spirit and mental power over all else. It is about being a good person...and not being a youtube warrior...too bad I gues...

  • You forgot Kanbun Uechi...and also Itosukaze Sensei, and might I also add you forgot Choki Motobu...

  • So many instructors! My, how did he manage to master any one thing?

  • Shows you dont know much about Mabuni's Perspective. He loved kata, he knew that real Karate existed within it, so he learned all of it...Shinpa kata, he created after training with Uechi Kanbun to pay homage to Kanbun Bushi. Learn the history before you speak...Wikipedia DOES NOT COUNT...you remind me of a white belt who thinks they know everything, empty your damn coffee cup!

  • If this was an Okinawan kata, it would be called Seyunchin, not Seienchin. His style is totally japanese: he is just another cookie from the FAJKO (or JKF now) cookie cutter.

  • the name does not matter, just the way it is pronounced...when you pronounce them it is the same..when you spell it...it does not matter...the way it is taught is the same...bunkai will differ of course...this is even true with Higaonna Sensei, and Ikemiyagi Sensei, both goju ryu okinawa style, but bunkai is SOOOOO different...you think your know so much...shiro obi, bakka gita!...

  • so in what bullshit little dojo do you train? you sensei is probably 18 yrs old and a roku dan. you are quite the dilettante.

  • What does that have to do with what we are discussing now?...Stay on topic and quit changing the subject...you know Im right thats why you change subject

  • right about what? post some video of yourself-let me see if you know what you are doing.

  • Im not the one that came here to critisize someone doing something...why dont you post your Seiyunchin, if you would?

  • some one sounds chicken. i already posted kumite. you have posted nothing. seems like you are just big talk and no karate.

  • Haha, I have nothing to prove. Your the one acting like a big shot, talking about how this mans kata looks like shit...you talk shit...you post shit about what your talking about.

  • you dont? you're a whining little boy. you got nothing to post, because you have no karate to back up your mouth. like i said. i already posted my skills, now let's see what you can do..so far, not much.

  • You posted kumite, that means you can flail , I GOTCHA!

  • Comment removed

  • "Oh, boy! You sure got me. Did you mean flail or fail Mr. Spelling Bee? I guess that means since you are affraid to post kata or kumite, it is because it shows us your inabilitly to do either. "

  • Winds of solaris just deleted that post...because he said I could not spell....flail...which I did.

He misspelled "afraid" and he also misspelled inability...no big deal though....Would I would like to know is that what does Karate have to do with spelling anyways?. Windsofsolaris knows nothing about true martial arts. He just thinks he knows everything, one cannot hope to ever achieve that. This man is an idiot and should lock himself in a room with no internet.

  • who in the fuck are you? this is a conversation between me and limpyhandmartialartist-who has yet to post anything but can talk really well.

  • Comment removed

  • how will i ever recover from your cleverness? interestingly, neither you nor limpyhandmartialartist post video of your capabilities kata or kumite. you two obviously have no skills in kumite nor kata.

  • Comment removed

  • at least your honest. limpyhandmartialartist needs to fess-up and admit he has none as well.

  • This was the kata I was practicing to preform for my shodan-ho test with Hanshi Del Saito. I learned from my Sensei that it means "White cloud in the blue sky" representing the how bold and brash a young man can be. Which is depicted by the double barai-uke spreading open your chest proudly. I love this kata. =)

  • I love this Kata!

    Simply awesome

  • Same here!! I unfortunatly stopped doing karate but I remembered this! I used to do it when I was 11 y.o.!!

  • Simply amazing. Very well done!

  • i dont mind this kata

but i hate the shikodachis at the start when we practise and the fool blue belts(who dont yet deserve the rank) muck around, making the instructor ook away, leaving us sitting there.

    meh.

  • C´mon! You can make good ki out of the shikodachis! And you need it for thew second part of the kata.

  • where can i find wanakan kata of shitoryu??

    pls giv me da link..

  • on youtube they call it matsukaze

  • Gran exectution!

  • Great exectution!! The way I learned it was a little different, for example, the grab or kakete on the first set of moves is a hook and sweep kakete but with the hand open in stead of gripping. However I'm sure in bunkai this could be altered. I find seienchin to be a very interesting kata!!

  • Perfecta ejecución, a falta de los kiai, por lo demas sin comentarios.

  • i do shito-ryu katas and kumites since i was 8 and this is just awsome!

  • I just went to a seminar where they taught this exact same kata. Now I have something to watch before I practice it!

  • i love this kata,it is my favourite, looks very powerful

  • i do goju ryu and its really good to see these kata , there are little differences in the two styles but that gives a variety , i really enjoyed those 3 kata that i do myself from goju , its enspiring and makes me want to go and do some kata practice , great vids

  • Best kata of Shito Ryu IMO.

  • It's a very good kata!

  • My favourite kata!!!!!

i was always competing with this!!!!

  • this is actully siechi the breathing kata we do in our class we use ibuyki breathing which tightening

  • For breathing Katas I personally like Sanchin, that gets a good workout.

  • luv da sounds when he moves!!

  • haahA

  • that is soo good!

  • excellent kata brings back memories

  • goog

  • how to download this video??

  • very good, very good, though the kiai would have made it better

  • varva79 tu as tout à fait raison!!!^^

  • Wataaaaa

  • very well executed

  • i dont know much at all really about shito ryu because i du Wado-Ryu

but this kata looks very good and some of the names of your katas are the sam or similar 2 ours!

    and ways, gdgd :)

btw how come your style has very short trousers! lol XD xxxxx

  • sometimes with the same name different katas are executed, sometimes change the structure of the kata, sometimes only some techiques. It's depend of the master founder of your style.

the Gi for kata is short to watch better hand and foot movements position, while the GI for kumite karate its the normal, so you are able to keep your enemy, block him ...

  • Well Seienchin is a shitei kata, meaning that in high calibre tournaments, it's required (among other possibilities). There are two shitei kata from every style.

This also means that it should *in theory* be performed exactly the same in every style.

Seienchin is a Shito-ryu kata, meaning the way the traditional Shito-ryu guys do it is *the* specific way.

I like the few times when I know something about a particular subject to go on like this. My apologies to those I bored! :D

  • Its the "Shitei" kata of Shitoryu, meaning WKF decided to choose that kata to look like the Shitoryu version rather than other versions. Originally Both Kenwa Mabuni and Chojun Miyagi learnt this kata from Kanryo Higaonna. One started Shitoryu the other founded Goju-ryu. Who's to say which is the "traditional" verion?:)

  • Very good as instruction, not that good for competition though.

  • I have to disagree... At least in my case.

I'm a Shotokan guy, myself, but since this is a shitei kata, is really should be know if one is serious about tournaments.

Besides that, being in a Shotokan club, this kata looks very unique when done next to, say, bassai dai and ji'on, which is what I'm doing next Saturday. (Have tekki shodan as my second kata, for a nice contrast!)

  • No,no. You misunderstood me. I meant the way the kata was executed. Seienchin, together with bassai dai (shito version) are shitei kata's and must be done. (I'm doing this kata, bassai dai, sepai and rohai at the next comp btw)

  • Um, that's because this video was made for instructional purposes? I'm pretty sure that if the Karateka was to be performing that Kata @ a tournament he would have done it way better and with kiais, don't u think?

  • Yeah, of course. I just said it because some members of my club took this video to the letter and thought this to be the way for competition.

  • are shito-ryu and shitokai the same school?

  • shitoryu came from kenwa mabumi and he has 2 sons and one of his sons stayed in japan and teach therefore took the traditional style which was shitokai i think while the other went overseas and taught shitoryu , story is something likethat

  • i think shitokai is the organization, shito ryu is the system taught within it.

  • is a great kata

  • Cool! That's my favourite kata!

  • karate shito-ryu is a great style. this kata is awesome too

  • this style of karate is complex as is that kata

  • looks better in Itosukai style!

  • Outstanding set of videos, thanks.

  • hope i can do it that well in tournament in 3 weeks!!

our style(itosu kai)perfroms it slightly differently but that was really good..

  • Love it love it! That's a fun kata.

  • so that's how it's done in shitokai :D great
