wow your q1 sucks , mine runs vista and many other programs like gps and obd software ..... and its the specs are the same as yours but mine only takes about 30 seconds to boot up

1. Pocket PCs suck. You can do jack with P/PCs.

2. Yes the Q1 is ultra mobile. This girl must be tiny.

3. This is 1/2 the size of even the smallest table PC.

4. Sony PSP? LOL. You can emulate the Sony PSP on the Q1! and still have FAR superior functionalitly. Sony PSP is for kids. Yes the Sony PSP has a web browser but it is the WORST browser EVER to be created on a device and navigating web pages on a PSP SUCKs since there is no touch screen. Have fun watching movies on a tiny PSP screen.

Is this Q1 thing is for real? Certainly, it's not "ultra mobile", compared to a P/PC. It's totally crippled compared to a slate-notebook SFPC. And the mentioned Sony PSP is probably better as entretainment device too. So, what the UMPC stands for?

About her boot time, I said the exact samething but they deleted my comments. Just look at all the junk startup programs she has running and shes complaining about boot time. Too funny... At any rate my Q1 boots and is ready to use in about 45 seconds.

No wonder it takes a while to boot you got Norton Anti Virus on it. Have you seen all those Applications running in the system tray? and you wonder why it takes 2 Minutes to boot?, I have a 300Mhz celeron with 192mb of ram with only a 2 GB hard drive. That boots in 32 Seconds to the desktop and i can be browsing Digg quite happily using The lightweight browser Opera.

This was a great review. You covered everything I wanted to here (In a British accent too!) I think I have just decided to get one of these. It seems like a great piece of tech. I also don't have a problem with the 2 and 1/2 min open. That's not bd for me. I have to wait about that long to get my desk PC to boot up fully. (When I have to restart because of a freeze or something. We never shut down...)

Viewing online reviews is a waste of time. You have to see this unit in person. Most people (teens and the uneducated that post here) have never even seen this in person. These UMPCs are really AMAZING and its about time mfr. started to produce them.

...funny, saw this afterwards in another review in the hands of a gentleman - I thought it was an entirely different, smaller model until I went back to double check.... she must be tiny. In her hands it looked quite a lot bigger! An unexpected advantage in online demonstrations perhaps? Again, may the buyer beware... Does she state dimentions?

I forgot to add. These Samsung PCs DO play todays games (other than Q1"b" which uses old VIA unichrome graphics) The reason the Q1 and Q1 Pentium can play games out there is because the gma900 graphics can run DirectX 9 and even though its shared memory the res. of the screen is only 800x480. Because of this the gma900 can push this screen resolution EASILY. Most people dont understand this and cry "fake" when they see pictures or video of this PC running games like Doom3 or half-life 2.
