the first time i saw this was on c4 and i couldnt stop laughing , it related perfectly to me and my mates at the time, cheaply filmed but perfectly portrayed.
Is that ME to wind mi neck in? If it is, I was just stating that the phrase isn't specific to an area (pronunciation-wise it is as, we in the Fens pronounce our 'ar's a lot differently to you lot in the central midlands). And you can hear a differnce in Leicester and Notts accents, probably due to Leicester being closer to the North/South isogloss. What the fuck is chuckey egg? A hen's egg?
What's Leicester speak? "You're a mardy arse"? Well, you'll find yer sen wrong on that 'cause it was said all the time in the two places I grew up (Boston and Maxey) and is said all the time around Notts so don't start laying claims on a regionalism.
nottingham and leicester are very similar in accent and dialect, so words like mardy arse, duck, and chuckey egg, are to be heard in both places.......however, he is right, it is not a staffs term.....so wind yer neck in dude..........i have family in nottingham and leicester, we all agree with me.....................
looks like a typical sunday morning at the localcar boot sale.. very well observed by Shane Meadows .. as Ali G would say ... "respeck" ( flicks his finger in the air)!!!
