  • i have the samson co1u the XLR one, does it work with garageband?

  • these settings helped me allot in garageband, but now i switched to logic and im having trouble with this mic there. the sound just sounds too rusty. are there any logic tips you could give for the samson mic?

  • I've been looking around for a something like this in months and it took your 4 minute video to help me out. thanks really works (y)

  • But i dont have a USB mic. I have an Audio Input thingy type mic which i bought. Audio Technica AT9941 and i want to record with that in my 13 inch Macbook Pro 11

Please tell me how. Thank you.

  • @azzamrockon You're going to need a pre-amp since the AT's are XLR mics and can't be plugged directly into a computer. There are XLR to USB conversion chords, but I'd recommend just getting a pre amp. You'll get great control over your sound too, so you won't really need to do much post production at all. You can do most of the work right on the pre amp.

  • @azzamrockon Same, you have to by a converter lead, XLR to USB.

  • Thanks for the advice! Outstanding!

  • YOU ARE A SAVIOR TO THE PEOPLE

  • hey great video! really helpful. I just had a question about the live monitoring. Do you face any problems as in really slight delays in the headphones, but still pretty distracting?

  • Thanks a lot. You should make more vids for garage band techniques.

  • GReat vid, but I don't understand why you say the C01U isn't stereo. I use it on plenty of other programs and it works well in stereo.

However, I can't use it in stereo on Garageband, which is a big shame. And I've seen vids posted on youtube with people using mics in stereo that playback left and right channels.

Is there a possiblity of this working with the C01U?

    Thanks for a reply.

  • @Hazelnumber1 I'm very sorry for a late reply, that was my school's channel, so I don't get notifications. The CO1U, like many condenser mics, only records in mono. Some programs may output it automatically to stereo or play sound through both speakers such as Skype, but usually, since it is a mono mic, when it is on stereo, your sound will only come from one speaker when recorded. If you output it as mono, the sound will be evenly placed. Hope that answered your question...way late.

  • Direct, short and sweet. Best of about 10 videos I've watched today. Thanks.

  • Just the info I was looking for ...thank you!

  • thank you 4 the useful video ,,,,,,,,

  • I don't have GarageBand (or a Mac, for that matter), but I will say that I found this very informative. I've seen tons of YT tutorials where there's horrible mic quality, inaudible speaking, "What did that guy just click?", and senseless rambling or vague directions. This tutorial beats a huge lot of them by being clear and comprehensible.

    Well done~
