The new interface just had the friend backgrounds fixed. So you're losing nothing now by buying premium themes on the new dash.

The friend background are still there but you have to click your own avatar at Social and it shows behind him/her. It never shows behind friends though ;( im in the preview program too.

It's a crying shame that you cannot properly preview these themes on the actual xbox dashboard. MS should thank you for doing their job for them.

This is a nice looking theme and I wouldn't be buying it I hadn't seen this video first. MS should start giving you a cut,

@milkenobi The dash update is bringing YouTube, so depending on usability of the interface, our videos may be easily available on the dash :)

@ThemeXbox My optimistic side cannot wait, my realistic side tells me the interface will be a chore to operate. Between my PC, ipad and phone, youtube is so readily available so It'd have to be pretty special to be worth using more than once out of curiosity.

Actually MS doesn't do this because then people will blindly buy shit, not like it, then buy something else. By giving previews like ThemeXbox is doing he's probably pissing them off. So he won't get a thank you.

@xRIPNFx actually an official Microsoft video on Xbox live , "Sent U a Message" mentioned theme Xbox specifically, so i doubt that they are pissed at him. if anything, they should like him a lot. I personally have bought 3 themes that i have seen on here that I wouldnt have bought had I not seen the video.

Yeah but think about all the people who saw a theme on here and DIDN'T buy it because they didn't like it. They wouldn't have known that if it weren't for these videos. And I can say.. until I what this looks like on the Fall 2011 Dashboard Update (I'm in the beta) without buying it I won't get it.

@DanTheMan0531 I'm in the preview program and basically the themes look nicer since you can see more of it but be warned, the friends list is no longer the same. Therefore the nice backgrounds around your friend's avatars are no longer there.

@DanTheMan0531 The images are not changing when you go to game library or something. Also you won't see any pictures behind your friends channel. I'm in the beta and i now use google images because my theme's are not cool anymore ( they work on the new dash , but there's NOT a picture behind avatars AT ALL!

@DanTheMan0531 You won't be able to see the backgrounds for your friends except on your own avatar, and even then, you have to click on yourself to see it. Essentially, they become worthless.
