  • 1 question is this a gaming card ? i mean like for extreme gaming , using this card no matter wat games (from now on) , just pull everything to high without problem

Or is this an average gaming card , which most games still able to perform at HIGH but not every games

This card looks quite big though

  • @fenix8634 It's not the newest card on the market but it can run most games in 1920&1080 (Full HD) without any problems whatsoever, despite it already has 2 years.

  • @saibarcafi wao 2 years is quite old.....hmm is there any sample of a great graphic game that this card can run full high details without problem ?

  • @fenix8634 Of course lol, games do not have that big requirements these days because the outdated consoles stop games from evolving too much, that's how HD5870 can run most today games on 1920&1080 and High specs without big efforts. Do not forget that 2 years ago this card was really high-end.

  • @fenix8634 I was running skyrim with 5770 on high with no problem.

  • @crazyguy1913 wao seriously ? im running skyrim on HD 5830 Xtreme , uh not sure was it HIGH ,but its still ok for me = p

but still some games rather laggy for me and sometimes the game i play is smooth and all but certain parts i lag i dont noe y = = "

  • BMGWL

he often threw guides and cables :D

  • Holy cow that's a big one! I don't think it'll fit in my HP 400f elite....

  • This video card maybe used to dell inspiron?

  • I have a DDR3 memory/RAM but can i use DDR5 graphics card or does it need to be a DDR3 graphics card. Thank you.

  • @BEANIEINAEB you can use whatever graphics card you like thast has the connection your motherboard has

  • Is this card good?

  • where i get this card cheap?? in europe pls

  • @ZIIHI newegg.com

  • O:

  • Power Supply Needed ??

  • @zikacs51 yes!

  • @torcidaSTobrec 550v ?? 750 ?? 1000v ???

  • @zikacs51 Go with a 750w.

  • will the athlon ii x4 640 bottleneck this?

  • @willeyboy2 No, im getting a new PC with a Core i5, The athlon is always a steady processer, Its also one of the newer athlon's, By no means will it bottleneck it.

  • in the netherlands

    hd 5770 = 120 euros

    hd 5870 = 150 euros

    hd 5970 = 450 euros

  • @willeyboy2 but not in germany the cheapest 5870 cost over 200 euro

  • throw the card back there to xD

  • @PCRampagE hey congratz on your motherboards(.)org prize!!

  • @OpiumWarz hey man, Thank you verry much !

haha, since u where the first to say that on a other vid, u are going to get 1 sub from me :)

  • @PCRampagE haha thanks + enjoy your card =)

  • @OpiumWarz hehe, i will man :D

  • I had this card. It's very good HOWEVER, I've sent this back to the reseller 3times because it suddenly start glitching all over the screen, lots of messed up color lines, as well as pixels getting stuck. It also crashed a lot when watching youtube videos, and also when doing nothing at all.

My Recommendations: Do not buy. 5/10

-I did not get Dirt2, but Aliens vs. Predator

  • errr, this card is 11inches long? oh dear, just measured the space inside my case, ive got 9inches. :( and ive actually just ordered this, waiting for delivery in the next couple of days.

Any ideas of how to get this in my case?

  • 0:44 right side or left ? :)

  • the ati radeon hd 5850 works almost just as good ast this card right?

  • the best Nvidia is the Geforce gtx 590 and the best ATI is not the 6990 it is the 5970 that is the best graphic card on the world

but better then one graphic card are 2 with crossfire

you should buy 2 ATi Radeon 5870 thats better than the best graphic card of the world

if there are mistakes sorry I'm German :D

  • @looknice43

no its wrong what you sad because a gtx590 is two gtx580 which is the fastest single gpu card of the world ! gtx590 have to gpus including the hd6990 and the 5970black edition from xfx but the hd 6990 is better as a 5970 because a hd 6990 have two 6970 gpus and a 5970 have a 5870 and a 5850 gpu. i think the gtx 590 is the best but if you dont have 1700 bucks for two gtx590 (4 gpus after all), 4 200 bucks hd5870 where a good alternative

    Ps: iam german too ;)

  • I'm building a new Computer for hardcore gaming. I've got a Cooler Master HAF 932 case so space is not a problem. What is the best Nvidia card out at the moment and the best ATI card?

  • @MrEnglishBadman nvidia 590 and amd 6990

  • is this powerfull than hd4870?

  • @AndyFlash0f LOL way more. The 4870 was a good card though.

  • now he takes the card show it and then he thows it with the other things :D

  • This or 6870 by xfx with 2 fans?

  • @xxMidgetxxJL 6870

  • is it worth to buy ati 5870 now?

  • 5870 is better because is a little bit faster, the 6870 asus is more economic

  • asus or xfx 5870 OR asus 6870??? which is better

  • @SuperGodzill ASUS had voltage tweak Other than that no diff. 6870 has beefer tessellation performance. Less powerful over all than the 5870. 5850 (6870) 5870

  • XFX ATI Radeon HD5870 1GB Graphics Card PCI-E 5870 ebay

    Item number: 310297241302 £179.99 Postage:Free 2 year warranty

  • is it possible to crossfirex 4 hd 5970S?

  • I was going to buy a XFX ATI gRAPHIC cARD after selling my XFX 9500 GT .WOULD ANYBODY tell is it a well RADEON FOR A HARD CORE g@mEr

  • i love it ..and i have it :P

  • Believe me... this card messed up my pc... glitches everywhere on my screen.

very old thought, they've stopped selling it where I bought it

  • @xXZarlachXx

Maybe you put the right card into the wrong PC??

    Maybe....

  • Now i understand why people buy XFX cards so much & like em.

Next card gonna be from XFX

  • ummm how do you put this on laptop?

  • @3sharky0623584 I do hope you are joking.

  • @newnhamlea1 why

  • @3sharky0623584 its huge, that would never fit in any laptop, you need to look at mobile gpu's if you want to upgrade.

  • @newnhamlea1 lol thanks

  • @3sharky0623584 no problems

  • @3sharky0623584 you cant

  • @superclaw900 i know if you woulda read the comments there telling me that i cant so i know that already.

  • hope you don't mind sending me a spare card that you have laying around. :D

  • It pisses me off how he just throws important equipment across the room.

  • @RobloxBlue348 His room is a box lid then

  • where can i buy this i want it for christmas

  • i have a compaq case the model is cq5320f. I just bought a amd 965 (3.4)ghz with a Radeaon hd5870. I think the case I have is a micro atx but am not sure everything will fit. If it does not fit, i was going set everything up like you did in the video with a stand or something. Besides the obvious protecting the crucial components from things falling on it are there any other cons of having no case?

  • i just bought the same card, and if it does not fit, would you recommend just not having a case all together?

  • @longdingwongdong

I think it is totally up to you.

What case do you have at the moment?

I think that a bigger case is better because the airflow will be better in a bigger case.

But, if you have the option to put in 2 smaller graphiccards in a pc then that should do the job too.

    Bigger case for me

  • Id be in so much shock if he threw the card like he did the rest lol

  • @NitroMaximus I was thinking the same haha xD

  • I've been buying and using nvidia cards ever since i got into tech stuff and pc gaming (obviously World of Warcraft if you see my videos) and i've also heard that switching to an ATI card from an NVIDIA card leads to problems...can anyone confirm this, and/or give me a fix to this so called 'problem'? (im still a tech noob, so if you use a lot of references to tech stuff, i probaly wont know what you're talking about lol :D)

  • @hlslayer123 Apparently ATI tends to have more driver problems, but it will only happen with quite new cards. Just update your drivers regularly.

Other than that, you shouldn't get any problems.

  • i hear of people having problems with switching from nvidia to ati is that true? If so what can i do to fix that problem. ty

  • what is the differense between that and the sapphire? Only designs?

  • @Oxsaren1 the fan and designs, the rest is the same.

  • LOL That Radeon Graphics card would be a sick ass looking xbox 360 hrd drive

  • so what what connections will i need to run triple monitor gaming ????

hdmi, dvi, dispaly port ?????? what are the combination ????

  • Mine doesn't shock me but it gets the job done.

  • thats mine :D

  • Comment removed

  • give me one please

  • I have the ATI Radeon 5850 HD and it runs games at roughly the same performance as my previous card ( Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT ).

Do you think it's just that my CPU is rather old (2.4 GHz Dual Core) or maybe some other things that are old? ( 4 GB RAM DDR2 ) ( Asus P5B Mobo ) ???

  • @Wootzzzzzzz Id get a better rig for the 5870 tbh. Quad-core processor for example.

  • lol 2:49 perfect landing ;)

  • currently i have the old school xfx 9800gtx+ on my hp casing and i want to upgrade to xfx 5870... does 5870 fit my hp casing??

  • can you install it on a 785gtm-e45???

  • XFX has the dopest packaging.

  • @martindanny Looks like your proc is weighing you down loads man. Try a phenom x4 954 BE. 160 bucks for a factory clock rate of 3.4ghz. Oh, its quad core as well

  • Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit

    Manufacturer: HP Pavilion Elite m9525f

    Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q8200 @ 2.33GHz 2.33GHz

    Memory: 6.00 GB

  • @killcab if ur lookin for laptop gpu dont buy the 1 this guys got thts a desktop 1, im guessin u probaly kno this but just makin sure

  • Thanks for this detailed unboxing. I have a question here. There alot of other versions of this card: XFX, Sapphire... and others. Are theire any differences between them? I dont know which one I should buy.

  • @zxwesamxz

dont get XFX mainly because some of its 4890 performs like a 4850

  • Whats the best graphics card for gaming out there?

  • @Gam3Junkie Currently, I believe the most powerful GPU in the world atm is the Radeon HD 5970, which will set you back a cool $650-700. Someone correct me if I''m wrong.

  • @Gam3Junkie Saphire 5970 TOXIC version (4gb GDDR5) .that's the best of the best

  • What's the other version of this card? I couldn't get it since you went talking real fast. Thanks.

  • @Arsjonisteman

HAH! Yeah, I heard Nvidia's new cards were egg fryers. LOL

  • i nearly came when i watched this

  • lol "if your not familiar with pressing the next button.'"

  • No Badge just Door Hanger... That turns me off I love the Badges.

  • @XRalDeNx69

    Most likely a different brand.

  • Huh, my 5870 is quite different. I wonder why...

  • @xRaIDeNx69 Does it have a fan on the middle? If it does it is the second xfx model for 5870. It's a bit shorter too.

  • @Mi3kka1S4

    Yes, thats exactly the one.

The 6-pin connector is also not on the side but in one of the vents.

I later found out what you've just told me a few days ago but thanks a lot for telling me this!!!

  • @xRaIDeNx69 No problem! I have the card too, but can't really use as i don't have a power supply in my new case =P

  • @Mi3kka1S4 are there performance differnces because i have the one with the fan in the middle too.

  • @tbvdb None at all. It's the same card but better cooling.

  • does anyone know if a pci-e x 16 (2.1) card will work in the 2.0 slot in my motherboard.

  • @dalekdestoryer yeah it will, cuz i have a 9800 GTX+ PCI-E 2.0 on a 1.0 mobo and it works flawlessly

  • This Card is coming to my house today :D

  • im going to get this in 3/4 weeks :D

  • @metube2099

    Definantly

  • Great unboxing! One question. Will this fit into a cooler master HAF 932?

  • @metube2099 The HAF 932 fits all video cards, including the HD 5970 :)

  • @HardwareCanucks - 1 Question.. XFX or ATI? (Warranties.. and Customer Support - Reliability wise)

  • @dannyrea246 Answering on this account because it is more a personal preference;

    @dannyrea246 XFX definitely.

To Sapphire's credit they have drastically improved over the past year, with a North American centre of operations so no more cross ocean shipping.

Asus & Gigabyte are also very well established brands. I have heard great things about Gigabyte's CS for motherboards. Not sure if that translates over to graphics cards though.

  • @HardwareCanucks hey what is the model number of this one?

  • @MJBDC07 IIRC this is the "HD-587A-ZNF9" model

  • I'd laugh if he threw the card the same way he did with the other stuff.

  • i would like to see you chuck the card onto the table xD

  • If anyone wants 2 xfx 5870s or 1 xfx 5870. Both with lifetime warranty from xfx. Only $350 each. Just send me a PM

  • man i ve bought that card

do you believe it will be able to run games for the next 2 years?

  • Are you going to throw the graphics card on the table at the end like the manuals? :D

  • So realistically, How long do you think this card is going to be good for, I plan on upgrading to this, this week.

  • getting this delivered in 2 days!

  • lol u just threw everything

  • Does it make a big difference if you put 2 of these in crossfire at 8x 8x? I ask because maybe I would do it someday and I dont want to get another motherboard (mine has one 16x slot and one 8x).

  • the card need two power conectors? or i can use only one?

  • You need the ASUS Republic Of Gamers 2 GB module of this card and need to overclock it to 1ghz in order to play Crysis warhead on Ultra High settings at 1920x1080 in order to achieve 60smooth frames per second with no micro stutter that crossfire dual gpus gives you

  • It can't run Crysis smoothly on very high, just so you know...

  • Is it eyefinity enabled?

  • great card

  • this card is beast

  • pc games dead = video cards dead

  • @1430mun thats why this card was sold out after it was released.
