  • truer words have not been spoken. It's been 5 years already and only songs about her keep me warm at night.

  • Since Karen Carpenter is my wife's favorite singer, I had to love Karen to the same degree. Karen and my wife are both angels.

  • ouch...

  • też kapitalne! można się zasłuchać i rozmarzyć:)

  • Karen, you didn't have to die. You were fine like you were. You had a talent that most women didn't have. Besides, NO boy in his right mind can say no to a girl who rocks and rolls; Remeber that!

  • The world is a sadder place without Karen and he voice. RIP

  • And yes: Love in a Love song is more believeable, so let's get marry with the songs and let's forget the people hahahaha.

  • like if you came here because you just like the Carpenters. Glee who?

  • The title is difficult. all you get from love is a love song. なかなか、憶えられない。 top of the world. これは簡単。it's easy title.

  • this is my one and only.

  • worst song in the world. have to do it for school band. think justin beiber would be more intersting.

  • @notoriousTEG Are you old enough to tell the world which song is the worst song ever?

  • @notoriousTEG Justin Bieber sucks! Karen Carpeter still rocks to this day asshole!

  • "CC could pull off any song in existence" then why have we not heard him sing any Mika songs, his vocals should be perfect to do mika but the lack of experience prevents him from singing any mika.

  • @david99821 Why don't you send that to ryan murphy since he picks the songs? and Chris Colfer can't demand to sing particular songs. The producers and Writers pick the songs he sings. Obviously they haven't found the need for him to sing mika, It has like NOTHING to do with his talent. Just saying.

  • Chris Colfer could pull off any song in existence tbh.

  • Ya.. kurt can do it :P

  • like if you came here after you heard the Glee spoiler.

  • Thank you so much for uploading this song. I love it.

    Miss you so much Karen.

  • I love the Sax part @___@

  • So cute.

Perfect song, wanna cover it! I LOVE YOU KAREN!

  • So smooth.

  • This song should have been a Number 1 smash hit. It's always been one of my favorites.

  • God how I miss you Karen. I will listen for your voice in heaven. The angels will be silent when you sing. I hope God schedules concerts for us there.

  • Hearing Karen (especially this song) makes me feel so close to my wonderful wife, whom I love so dearly, and who so dearly loves me ... what a state to be in ... :)

  • ilove so much...lovely song and amazing singer

  • Her voice is like gentle but refreshing style... Every time it just touches me and Cant help listening to it again and again....

  • この曲名はなかなか覚えられない。なんか、直ぐに忘れてしまう。以前、カーペンターズのアルバムを買ったが、その中に、この曲が入っていた。なかなか、いい曲だった。しかし、タイトルが覚えられない。「 all you get from love is a love song 」・・・・。なかなか覚えるのは今でも大変だ。キシッ、キシッ、キシッ、・・・・・。

  • Pureee!!!

  • Hermosa canciónnnn!!!...gracias por suburla a6896023...abrazo!!! Yerman.

  • KAREN FUCKIN' RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I can't seem to recall any famous female singers these days who perform in a plain old T-shirt and jeans. :)

  • @marble1992 : Yeah, that's because they want to look as trashy and whorish and slutty as possible. Karen didn't need any of her physical attractiveness to be popular or talented. She was a force to be reckoned with just because of her talent and voice alone. She was more attractive with those attributes than ANY of the slutty and trashy ones are now with all of their attempts at being such. There was none like Karen and never will be again. She truly was one of a kind.

  • It's a dirty old shame when I can't hear more of Karen's wonderful voice. She's an angel, both figuratively and literally.

  • Karen's loveliness is just so natural and unaffected...it makes her likeability shine !

  • 8 people have shaky hands and missed the like button.

  • She was such an amazing talent, her voice was just heavenly, still their songs are just so wonderful to listen to now and then and are amongst my favorites of all time.

  • It was my wonderful wife, whom I love oh so dearly, who turned me on to what a wonderful voice Karen had. This happens to be one of my very favorite Carpenters songs. It makes me both happy and sad. ... :)

  • i like this song i love........

  • always had a crush on her, beautiful voice

  • No one will be able to sing or sound like her. It''s not just the way she sounds but the way she projects her voice. It's an "orchestra" like voice that just flows magically. It's such a beautiful voice. Thank You Karen.

  • the best love songs are written with a broken arm..?

  • @jvane2010

    broken heart

  • @2watchkdrama r\eally..? :)

  • @jvane2010 Oh it's a dirty old shame that all you get from love is a love song

It's gotcha layin up nights waiting for the music to start.

It's such a dirty old shame when you got to take the blame for a

    love song.

Because the best love song is writing with a broken heart.

  • good song, good music

  • i love her...

    i superrrrrrrrrrrrrr love her...her voice..her song..hooOooOooh!!!

too bad..i couldn't afford to buy her original cds...

  • Typical.....that little hoodie jacket was just a cover-up for her anorexia...and not a very good one at that.

  • @powershot06 She wasn't covering anything up. Don't be so freakin' negative.

  • I always love Karen Carpenter's songs. It was only now that i learnt her story that i even admire her most. She may have left at a young age but she was able to make her songs immortal. A very rare talent, a one in a million voice, can' t help but pity her to have suffered an illness that was less known during her time.

  • The Carpenters rock period!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I am 52 years old I have been listen to the Carpenters since I was 11 I will never stop !!!

  • It's too bad Karen isn't around to read all these fine comments from her fans and know how much people appreciate her almost 30 years later.

  • Best female voice of the 70s, no contest.

  • Sweet Karen, she looks so pretty here. I just love the way she expressed herself when she sang. She truly was an amazing singer and person.

  • I'm speechless. What a wonderful song. Karen's voice was so smooth and soothing. This song really shows the range of her voice. So natural.

  • Sing A Song,All You Get From Love Is A Love Song,Goodbye To Love,We've Just Begun, and Close To You are my favorites.

  • They were beyond incredible

  • Karen rocks!!!!! :-)

  • WOW!!! what a wonderful song!!! :) Karen Carpenter...... what a voice!!!

  • Total magic!!! Karen Carpnter, one of the greatest female voices of all time.

  • I love this song :) it's so kute watching her dance I wish she was still alive so she can continue making great music. The Carpenters were one of the best group ever... Her brother is a musical genius ..Although I wasn't born when this music was made I can still appreciate talent when I hear it ...This is real music her voice is so pure and clear.... Not like all that auto tune crap we hear now ..sighsss that stuff sucks I want to hear real vocals not robot chipmunk sounding auto tune junk :(

  • Karen Anne Carpenter= A complete angel who left us too early :( <3

  • Such a cute video of an underrated great song from The Carpenters. When's this from, about 77 or 78??

  • @astrojet707 77:)

  • Such a cute video of an underrated song from The Carpenters. Great tune.

  • This song is the eternal hit for me.

    and One fact!...for you Karen,

Good quailty voice doensn't have to expose boobs in order to attract people like singers nowadays.

  • CARPENTERS FOREVER!!!!!

  • Karen is the purest female singer I've ever heard. May she rest in peace.

  • This is style, not like the shit they do today were they have to have a gimmick, or blow something up. The Carpenters were the real American Idols!!!

  • Karen Carpenter still the Prettiest Voice I've ever heard.

I also love Celine Dion who combines also a beautiful Voice with incredible Power

  • LOVE IT! 4 ever karen ! 4ever carpenters

  • Soothing and purifying... Rest in peace, Karen. Brazil luvz ya.

  • I LOVE this song, especially Karen Carpenter's vocal flexibility! I sure do miss her! I love how she enunciated her words in each song: clear and understandable. I pay tribute to her talent by replicating how she enunciated her words while singing. I can NEVER EVER be her, but I certainly do admire her multi-talented, musical abilities. THANK YOU, for sharing this video and keeping her memories alive. =) =)

  • I don't think this song was ever released as a single in the UK. Why it wasn't I'll never know but everything about this is just fantastic. I mean look at what she's wearing. She looks so cool and relaxed. It just proves that people don't need to be styled to death to be a great singer. Take note Cowell. I also love this song because it never changes key. Daft reason but it just flows along.

  • love this song :) Karen is so simple here! That is one of the reasons why I love her :)

  • She needed no flashy, Diva image. Her voice was enough to captivate - just about enybody. She didn't scream - her voice was what I used to think was magical.

  • some people should not die

  • Never a big Carpenters fan, but it's a dirty old shame that such a beautiful and distinctive voice was silenced too soon.

  • Another thing that's sad, according to Rich, she was already deep into anorexia by this time, and saw herself as fat.I look at this video and I can't see how she couldn't see in what I see here,A beautifull ,vibrant and gifted woman who any man worthwhile would have been damn lucky to love. Then,I look at some videos from 1978 onward, and she looks so thin,so sick.Still a beauty in spirit and talent, but physically so ill.I wish I could have met and gotten to know her.Anybody have a time Machine? LOL

  • I was born in November 1979,so I was just 3 years old when Karen died.Over the years I have heard their music, and liked it, but I wouldn't have called myself a fan. However, just recently someone suggested I check out Youtube ,particularly this one,and the one of "Karen the drummer".I have a whole new perspective and respect for Karen and Richard now. What talent, what great music. It's so sad that she never found what she was looking for,and died so young. She couldn't see how beautifull she was.

  • She was a plain and simple girl, but what a wonder ful voice and talent she was, thi s song epitomizes her beauty!

  • I love at how 2:29 the high part of her voice in the background vocals....just beautiful!!!

  • Karen was comfortable behind the drums I always felt her problems started when she was asked to front the group, something she did not take to easily, but hey the legacy of songs has to be enjoyed, my late wife(Sandra died 8months ago) used to joke Karen was the only woman I would ever leave her for she was wrong but I would have been tempted lol

  • wow!!!that's 3 in 1...perfect song,perfect voice,and a perfect singer...

    Karen has a unique voice...

I never heard someone who sounded like her...

    love yah always Karen!!!

  • The way she sings her songs are all just effortless.

Love this song! I play her songs at home and my daughter loves her singing

    "Touch Me When We're Dancing".

    GORGEOUS VOICE!!

  • the only female artist that i'll cherish and will always remembered for the rest of my life...nobody sings like her.... i think her soul visited me last night...

  • I would be difficult for me to say which of KC's songs I love the most, because--lets face it, she could do it all--what a genious! But for videos, I'd have to say this is it. She looks so healthy, beautiful & happy. I just love watching her, as well as listening to her!

  • quiet simply the best singer .... EVER

  • The best best best voice ever. Damn I miss her! Saw them performing twice when they were in Sydney Australia. You couldn't tell the difference between the record and the live performance. Unbelievable!!

  • @TheOrontes Wow!! You saw them in concert? What year did you see them? I'm 49, and have always been a "closet" Carpenter fan. I absolutely love Karen, and her voice speaks to my soul. This particular song speaks of of a regular girl who is gorgeous and unpretentious. Upon "wrap" of the song, she would say, "who wants to go bowling"?

  • @greenwich1754 I saw them at a smallish hotel called the Chevron in 1971. Half of the performance she sang while playing the drums, the second half she stood out centre stage. Amazing.

  • @TheOrontes Thanks for the reply! Wow, 1971 - that's early in their career, which I think Karen was at her peak. Her voice was deeper/richer then, especially on the first three albums. I also love watching her drum in the early years, as she clearly enjoyed the drums. The shows were also smaller & more intimate - see the 1972 Melbourne Australia concert, for example. Really wish I could have seen them.

  • lovely! lovely voice! lovely song!

  • shes really bouncy and smily. they performed like this in their concerts---shows you dont need complex choreography, special effect, or extraness when the music and musicians are superb.

  • Superb!

  • the clothes brings memories of my childhood unfortunately

  • this is one of my favorite songs from the carpenters. i love the way she sings it it just touches me.

  • such a graceful voice

  • "best love songs are written by the broken heart"... so true!!!

  • I really love her! She's just simple, but has a wonderful voice! IMY Karen! :*

  • Karen, We love you and miss you but will always enjoy your music. Love ya!!!!!!

  • mmmm...this feel so good

  • My very first 'catch' had a similar look to the lovely Miss Carpenter, how lucky was I ? :-) !!! Pax to all from Ian Smith.Xxx.

  • best female vocalist by a mile nobody else comes close

  • hit #4 AC. #35 pop in the US (Billboard). How'd it do in the UK? God bless!

  • @DaveWollenberg apparently and unfortunatly this song didn't even make the british charts go figure.

  • "Although tomorrow I know the sun is rising. Lighting up the world for everyone but not for me...." Hearing those words flow from Karen sends a shiver down my spine. Rest in peace, angel. You were and always will be absolutely astounding. xx

  • it makes me smile every time i watched this vid.,i love the way she closes her eyes and then smiles

  • Fantastic They are from my hometown New Haven, Connecticut

  • thanks for putting this video on here....one of my favorite carpenter's song....karen looks so great in the video

  • This is my favorite song and video of Karen. Love the Sax solo.

  • It's such a dirty old shame how she died. Thanks for the song, anyway, Karen.

  • @Alchrat Hear hear.

  • Isn't she wonderful? I love that she doesn't use heavy make up as the most of female singers do nowadays... Miss you, Karen.

  • Yes ! She didn't need make up... she was simply beautiful ! Agree with you about the female singers nowadays !

  • @kino66fan her voice is more than good enough, no need to make up or show skin. she's simple and beautiful.

  • @Tita123123, I agree! She's really beautiful without those cosmetics... She's one of a kind and truly amazing :)

  • @Tita123123 hell yeah! cos back then, its their voices that matter! looks were secondary! hehehe cos back then, SINGERS DO ACTUALLY HAVE TO KNOW HOW TO SING, unlike the "now" singers who only look good and have so-so voices. -_-

  • I'm blown away by the fact that she sings this song with her hands in her pockets through the first part. No histrionics or Diva moves.

  • Real singers don't need all the trickery--they just sing. There was no mistaking Karen's voice. How sad her life ended so soon. I'm still sad about that. Luckily we we a record of all the wonderful music she and Richard put together.

  • @improvguru Karen sang from her heart. Karen didn't see herself as a Diva. She was always trying to please everyone else.

  • @improvguru that's because she's very conscious of her physical appearance. she puts her hands in her pockets coz she doesn't wanna look fat.

  • @Alchrat DON'T BE SO FUCKING DISGUSTING!

  • @infinera06 you do realize that auto-tune did not exist her entire life, right? you do realize she never had to use auto-tune to make her voice sound better than it really does, right? you do realize that 85 percent of singers in the music industry since 1997 depend on auto-tune,right?

  • @improvguru I am too. And not only could she sing in concerts like this but she did it in the recording studio too! Karen was amazing.

  • @improvguru she was unique!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • voice of an angel

  • all you get from love is a love song...perfect!

i love the rhythm, love the song, love the singer, love them all!

so sad Karen left us very early...no one can top her.Ever!

  • この曲最高!!!

    カレンの歌声は天使そのもの!!!

  • I love this song...

So sad that I'm too young to be in their time

    but still..Carpenters' songs are eternal...

    at least to me !

  • wow love it
