It's always refreshing to hear you playing this song after a long day at work, and not only this song, all of your videos are like this or more beautiful. Thank you for sharing this!!
I'm going to guess all those who dislike this got too eager with thier touchpad button combo and accendtially pressed dislike. This is awesome, as is anything ever like this.
There was an older blind man who use to come to our shows and he always requested this song. One day we ask what he liked so much about the song, He told us that when he was being brought back to the United States due to a world war 2 injury, that the harbor lights was the last thing that he saw before losing his sight.
Beautiful! 5*****. I just posted a slide show video accompanied by mandolin, lead guitar, rhythm guitar, bass a "robot drummer." I played all parts except drums. This song was made for the steel and you play very well.
I enjoyed this and 'Blue Hawaii' very much. I would be very curious to know what tuning was used. Any advisement would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much for posting this stuff -- definitely an eye and ear opener!
When I was a little kid back in the early sixties, my dad who was an awesome steel player, used to give me some brushes and pots and pans and have me keep the beat for him..lol..this was one of his favorite songs to play and he used to play it aboard ship on the USS Arkansas during WW2 ..I miss him so much..beautiful playing
Takes me back to the Royal Hawiian and the Outrigger hotel's many many year ago when on leave. Maybe some of you remember Hawiaii Calls on Sunday afternoon.
I love the way you play the lap steel because you really seem to enjoy what you are doing. Do you have any suggestions for someone just starting to learn how to play a lap steel? I have been using various dvd instructions because teachers are hard to come by. Thanks.
