I am lucky enough to own a 100% complete original Bruiser that has only been run 5 times. It is an amazing truck, and the quality and scale is only matched (today) by what RC4WD is making. RC4WD is also making a reissue of sorts of this truck...
I realize something interesting just now, Bruisers are so valuable today some good ones cost more than some real Toyota pick up of the same age. lol, I know everybody know this, there aren't that many RC can be classify as legendary, and Bruiser has to be one. It may not be fast and cheap, but it's a scaler's absolute delight and collector's must have. For me, I think Bruiser is truly original in the world of RC's
I still have mine. I remember the very first day I got it. Took me 8 hours to assemble it. Didn't even paint it at the time. Hooked up two 7.2 volt batt. in series (that adds up to 14.4 volts, folks) rammed it into a post and couldn't drive it for a month until the parts came in. (Broke the differential). I still have a Tamiya Hornet, and a Porsche 959 also....
Damn, I had one of those in the 80's when I was a kid, parts of it are still laying around, wish I can put it back together again. Message to the kids of today, don't through away your toys they might be worth something. I remember also owning star war action figures and the Millennium Falcon god knows what they are worth today.
Yep this was just technicaly Amazing!! Nothing even today comes close to this Awsome Truck. Almost 90 per cent made of Metal. Th car could carry a person on a skate board!! was damm powerful. I want one, but they r so expensive now and keep going up on Ebay!! Thanks.
where do you think all of these "better/modern" vehicles got all of their ideas?
how many of the plastic beaters from today will actually still be in one piece in 25 years? probably none. there are still plenty of bruisers/mountaineers around...
i still have one in my garage. mine is the red one. ive looked them up on ebay and people want like 1,000 bucks or more these days. i dont think i would ever sell it though.
Tamiya Bruiser kit number 58519 will be shown at the Nuremberg toy fair this year. It's going to be re released.

It always depends in what condition the stuff is. Still, even a completely worn down Bruiser will fetch about 300-400 US dollars.

a good one can cost about $1000

erm... No offense, but almost anything you can get from the stores today has more power, speed and handles better than this.
Yes, it was mostly made from steel but so were the steam locomotives... :)

I know that the Bruiser ain`t the best handling rc truck out there but it`s still my alltime favourite.
