  • camception!

  • this is not a new technology, or a new idea, or even a new way of doing anything.

all this is, is the network (in this case orange) allowing higher bitrate data streams for voicecalls, its all IP based anyway : so in large it is a natural progression from 2g, 3g, 4g (as this has required the networks to upgrade their networking infrastructure) and now they have these great high bandwidth network connections between pop's which allows a higher bitrate for voicecalls.

    its not magic-its v simple.

  • we don't here the background of cars on motorway - fantastic!

  • very, very effective technology, or at least it appears so..

  • wow .. this just arrived in romania . about a month ago

    :))

  • 0:52 he is flipping of his viewers cause he dont give a shit!!

  • Modern HTC Android devices also support HD Voice (right technology is: AMR-WB) like mine HTC Desire Z running Android 2.3

  • Does Nokia 5800 XM or Nokia 7230 have HD Voice? I found in Settings/Call/Voice Clarity and i turned on. Voice Clarity is HD Voice?

  • great soprano!

  • I havent seen anything more stupid than this glass break:) LOL. Do you think people are so stupid?

  • What a difference

  • for you guys saying HD is an overused term, wait until 3D voice

  • "HD Voice" is a clever marketing term...toss the letters 'HD' on something, and the public scramble to get it. Here, in essence, we finally see telephony wideband audio being utilized...

  • @CruzDemon exactly. utilized, not invented.

its not new, its not a new technology or idea. its simply the network allowing more of their inter-pop available bandwidth to be used for higher bitrate voice channels, since its all been upgraded for faster data channels anyway (such as 3g, 4g, etc).

its a natural progression, and as for the CODEC used to encode the microphone input, these have been around a very very long time, but are only useful if given the bandwidth pipes to use them.

  • Actually in the real world this is a bit better than that demo. My wife and I have had this on our Nokia E5s on Orange for a few months and it's an amazing difference. There is one issue though: If you're out in the countryside and the phone switches to the old 2G network for any reason, the call goes back to standard mobile quality until you redial. Oh, and there don't seem to be any car kits or bluetooth headsets that support it yet so those also give normal "mobile/landline" quality as well.

  • Perfect example of how HD is an overused marketing term.

I doubt this is true 320 kbps.

  • it cuts out more than the old version, i'd rather deal with a tin voice then having to ask the person i'm talking to, to repeat what they just said

  • he gives us the finger 50secs in

  • He is speaking English, which more than most Americans can do.

  • The technology is ok, but it still didn't get rid of this guy's annoying British dialect.

  • What country? Cars look so european

  • NOKIA ROCKS :D
