For the people who dont understand, when you try to open a combination lock, you have to look in the space, between the wheel and the lock , under 1 number there is a notch , . try to find it @ all three wheels , after that , the notch has to be up , or down, -depends on the lock- so if it has to be down ( as in this case ) you should spin the wheel 3 or 4 times ,

. then its open ...

A lock like this can be broken into via trial and error by trying all possible combinations under a few minutes. There are 1000 different possible combinations, and chances are you don't even have to go until 999 to find it.

there are some comb locks that the litle gap has to face down in the opposite direction that u see it. if u find all 3-4 and it doesnt open just add 5 to all numbers i think.

how is this easier than sticking your ear next to the lock and listening for the pistons to click. that works on all combo locks (sometimes stethoscope is needed) this probably only works on this combo lock brand or type.

I understood it fine, and I know nothing about locks or lockpicking. Just start with the last dial, spin it until you see an impression through the slit along the left side of the dial, spin it 5 more notches (180 degrees), repeat for the middle dial, then apply pressure to the button you use to open the lock while you spin the first dial around until it pops open.

Well I just pop a master lock padlock (a #311 with the blue weather coating) by wacking down on it w/ a heavy crowbar. It was frozen up on the back of a trailer for 900 miles.

yup, the locks sold at ALL of the storage shed units i've seen (i own a trailer park and frequently have to move renters out and put their belongings in a storage unit until they pay up) CAN be shot with a .gun and they still wont open. then you need the jaws of life. but usually with these super strong locks, the way around them (by destructive means) is usually not messing with them atall and destroying the hoop or latch, completely going around the lock.

this is a really cool thing to do if you have a locker, and at the end of the school year when they change the combos. if you add or subtract from all the original combo numbers by 3,5, or 7 the locker opens it trail and error but its pretty cool, try it sometime it works

Those locks aren't that widely used.. You'll most commonly seen them on breifcases, traveling bags and cheap "safes" (You know those tiny boxes).
