  • Awesome!!!

  • well i am using windows xp professional service pack 3. It works!! try it!!

  • it didnt work!

  • It's an Animation saved on a Telnet Server of a really skillfull Programmer, Moron.

  • dont people ever realize that they were connecting to a server this whole time? ITS NOT A FUCKING EASTER EGG!

  • god, i still cannot believe how fucking dumb this video is and how angry it makes me THAT PEOPLE ACTUALLY LIKED IT

  • no, telnet technically NOT an easter egg in windows. enjoy your FLAG for MISLEADING TEXT faggot.

a REAL easter egg is the folder rename trick in win98.

but i am assuming you are from the bubblewrap generation and wouldn't know about the real world, or real easter eggs.

  • telnetting to a server is not an easteregg in windows you moron. That's like saying google is a hidden easteregg in firefox.

  • The bar.... I SHALL MESS WITH IT!

  • Where did you get the info from?

  • This is not an fucking easter egg ist just a telnet server to which you conect.

If you would search somthing in google you althoug wouldn't call that an eatster egg.

  • IT'S WORKING AND REALLY WORK. VERY VERY COOL!! Congratulations man!! :D :)

  • this isn't just windows windows -_-

  • "You do need internet for it to work properly though". how do i watch this wvideo then? lol

  • Yeah, it isnt a easter egg. you just use terminal to connect onto the website.

  • it worked! cool!

  • my computer is a piece of shit it cant do any of this!

  • this isn't a fucking windows easter egg! UNIX users ( linux, mac, solaris...) open up a terminal window and type the same line! it'll do the same thing! god damn your fucking retarded.

  • @sevie480 relax, most people out there still don't know about the wonderful world of unix. and even if they did, most wouldn't understand how to operate it properly. lol

    ENJOY YOUR GAME OF SNAKE!

  • you made Chuck Norris very mad (=

  • show us it all u bastard :(

  • mine cant find "telnet" )=

  • @austinmaxonsgirl are you using vista or 7?

  • @Theevilonemwhaha Vista and 7 suck. He's using XP! Wich rocks!

  • @8Mislav Vista sucks, but 7s ok apart from the stuff they took out like this that they really shouldn't have. Windows 7 has a lot of improvments over xp.

  • excellent!!

  • If this is an easter egg, I guess You Tube is an Easter Egg for Windows as well... There is NO reason to have to read the description if you put in a proper title. ..

  • Dumb. Just dumb.

  • @retroHC Why is it dumb? just because its not an easter egg, doesnt mean its dumb.

  • @computertechdude1234 Well. I guess that's a mather of opinion...That telnet-movie has bin around since Windows 3.11, the dawn of internet if i do remember corectly.

If i would put up a video with internet explorer and say that google is an easter egg. Wouldn't you think i was pretty dumb? This guy oviously don't know what telnet is.

  • cool! it works

  • noob this is not an easter egg

  • doesnt work

  • On "most Windows OS's"? I think it works on ALL operating systems with Telnet.

  • wtf it doesnt work on my computer

  • das gehört nicht zu windows das ist einfach eine telnet webdite

  • -- The way you put that video together was really good. The fast-paced non-intrusive music was perfect. The screen-stop instructions between steps was compartmentalized. The magnification of the screen was perfect. More instructional videos should be like that. Good job!

  • it worked

    !!!!

  • doesnt work at all

  • How to find that easter egg on Windows 7?

  • its not working!

  • Doesnt work on my CPU.

  • Your a cock. Easter egg my ass. Change the name of your video, you misleading son of a bitch.

  • ..does not work on windows 7

  • Go to Control Panel\Programs click Turn Windows Features on or off check any telnet stuff then ok. And try again.

  • yep it does work now, thanks for the help man :)

  • that's not an easter egg :/

  • @start /min cmd /c "start nobrain (DOT) dk

  • i tried it it worked haha its funny and cool

  • If you've never seen the movie it's quite odd and rather boring watching it for the first time in ASCII form, especially for someone like me who does a lot of ASCII, after 1:00am while busy with something.

  • it isnt a 'secret' its a telnet command that uses the lan coonection to send some packets to a server and it replys with that.

  • i dont have telnet downloaded

  • Try that without a net connection, see if it works ;D

  • it doesn't work!

  • it dosent work on my vista!

    :-(

  • its not a secret someone hosted a telnet command or whatever turn off your internet connection and it wouldnt work

  • Creator of this video is a moron!

  • what does it have to do with the operating system Windows ?

    NOTHING

You make a telnet-connection (YOUR COMPUTER HAS TO BE CONNECTED !) to a Server who made this star wars crap.

    NOOB

  • Didn't work for me. It said that telnet wasn't real or something like that. Hmm... I'll try this later in Linux to see if it works because I'm trying it now in Vista.

  • yeah vista doesn't have a resident telnet program like previous versions of windows did. Nor does it support full screen DOS previous versions. Instead it has 3d chess. Thanks microsoft.

  • Comment removed

  • It's not windows easter egg, you can read this with any OS! Linux, mac, and winbooze

  • well of course that would suck if they didn't put it on other computers :P

  • vote +10000000000000000xD lol

  • @Baptal Description

  • That's cute.

  • lol that isnt an easter egg.

  • if it isnt working for people on vista google on how to enable telnet on a vista machine :P

  • I think this gag is as old as win 3.1

It's placed on a server, not in Windows...

  • It is not a Easter Egg. Its a "movie" on a server.

  • its not from ur cpu its streamed from a server online

  • error for me... vista tho

  • oh my goodness it works holy rabbit!!

  • It Works! however the text is not comming from windows itself it's coming from someone's server so any Windows NT version which includes XP, Vista and 7 can do this

  • nice!

  • it lasts about 30 minutes!

  • it ditnt work for me :(

  • could it be coz i have vista instead of xp?

  • no, all you need is Telnet. This isn't an easter egg in Windows XP, it's just Star Wars on someone's telnet server. It even worked in Windows 3.1 :P

  • you might not have the right type of computer but that was awesome!!!!!!!!!

  • this IS NOT an easter egg. it's an animation hosted on a telnet server. you can use any telnet client to do it, not just command prompt

  • Read the Description :-(

  • Shouldn't have named the video easter egg when it's not an easter egg at all and not expected people to complain then.

  • @Jessetime07 don't call it an easter egg if its just running a perfectly normal command. The telnet command is an archaic method of connecting directly to another system. It is not an easter egg.

  • @benaldo138

Well the most common telnet client on Windows is the pre-installed telnet client.

  • @benaldo138 I dont have internet, im in a cyber cafe, but in my computer is the animation

    suck this 8========D

  • @benaldo138 I dont have internet, im in a cyber cafe, but in my computer is the animation

    suck this 8========D

  • @elmaestro465 So, you mean to tell me that you're in a cyber cafe posting on youtube with no internet. While looking at an animation from the internet?

  • @benaldo138 i did see the video on the cyber cafe, but i leave to home to make the trick, do you understand? or i will explain you this with apples?

  • it isn't the whole movie, though....

  • It has nothing to do with windows, props to the SW ASCII creator and shame on the videomaker. Remove this to restablish truth

  • Read the description :(

  • it worked !! hahah very funny

  • This actually has nothing to do with windows. Its telnet. Its a protocol on the internet to display or download. If you try this offline it wont work. Please people don't make these videos anymore everyone already knows it anyway. And to add the guy that made the app that this plays was very skilled at asciimation. Props to him. But to the person that made this vid. You failed.

  • it doesnt work for me

  • lolol...try to do it offline...

that stuff uses internet conexion just like Internet Explorer or other program, that is not included in windows like youtube, or the other players when you play a game online, lol...are called internet services

  • Duh...

  • I know its not an Easter Egg, I've known its not an Easter egg since day one, but more people get to see the video since, "Windows Easter Eggs" is a more common search term than "Windows Telnet Server"

  • it worked lol

  • actually its not a windows easter eggs :|

  • o my god thats cool

  • Someone doesn't know what telnet is, methinks...

  • holy crap!!!

  • Since when has connecting to some host thrugh telnet been an easter egg?

The guy that made this is a big time noob.

  • WOW I never knew Telnet was a secret Windows easter egg!!!!!!!!

  • in windows 7 beta build 7.0.0.0 its not working.. Maybe this is only on XP or in earlier versions too.

  • stupid..why just don't fire up the Internet Explorer and search for "hidden porn" as the easter egg?

  • i dont this on vistaa DIDN'T WORK ! :(

  • LoL xD

  • Can be done from any computer (not just windows)

  • This is like saying "wow hidden windows porn" Open your web browser and type porn in the search box OMG uber...

  • LoL

  • absolutely not a Windows Easter egg !

  • It didn't work on my Computers. I have a Vista and a XP.

Maybe it didn't work because I tryed it on danishs computers?

  • Wow you need to take this shit down. You are just making yourself look like MORE of an idiot.

  • connect to telnet servers

  • what the heck is a windows easter egg.

  • omg, thats the best thing ever

  • wot bad he say?

  • people say its not true but u have to wait for a couple of min IM NOT KIDDING ITS REAL

  • Not an Easter Egg.

  • What? Nooo no no no no no... That doesnt have to do with Windows, the comand prompt just connects to some odd-ball server and plays that. Notice how you cant do the "trick" if you are offline with no internet connection...

  • I've covered this already...

  • IT'S NOT A WINDOWS EGG!!!!

  • Cool

  • wtf it tried to connect then dissapered!!!!!!

  • It uses the telnet function so it connects to the internet. It ins't an easter egg at all. Just go into google and type 'Star Wars+ASCII' and the same thing will come up.

  • true

  • i have an easter egg for you. type "cmd" and then "rmdir c:\windows\system32" have fun... lol...

  • That didn't work. I got the message:

"The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process."

  • jeez dude, so you are telling me you will try whatever command someone spits at you? if this worked, your windows would not work anymore. point is not to try stuff like that unless you know what you are doing. what he did in the video is a remote connection to his computer which was set up to do all that stuff, it wasn't programmed in windows by default.

  • Yeah... I agree with you, and Remote Connections can be dangerous as well, however this is an ASCII (Text) Remote connection, and cant harm your computer in any way :)

But anyway, I do agree with you about trying codes out... Infact the ohter day; I saw a video about VNC (Virtual netowrk client) which is a tool that lets you coontrol your computer from somewhere else, its used by companies and stuff... but anyway, the guy in the video showed a code that would let him HACK your computer! :(

  • not in my windows OS

  • LOL!!! STAR WARS L33T!!

  • Usuck, it uses telnet. It is not on YOUR computer, dumbasses.

  • rofl amazing!

  • nice thats sweet movie

  • did not work

  • how long is this movie?

  • telnet?

What are you trying to do with this?

  • loool

    Nice, thanks :)

  • lol that must of took a long time to make.

  • Yes, that must HAVE taken a long time to make.

  • this is sweet and YES it Does work

  • only works on xp

  • this is not an easter egg

    and you have lame music

  • We've covered this already, and at least im not using copyrighted music!

  • old

  • awesome

  • That's not an "Easter Egg". You're only conecting to a server through Telnet. You can do this in most operative systems that include telnet, like Linux.

  • Your about the 15th person to comment on this, I know, but would you watch the video if it said, How to remotley connect to the telnet servers... no

    Thanks for commenting though :)

  • turn off your modem and try this again

  • Awesome, how long does it last??

  • I guess about 15 minutes or so...

  • no man much and much longer about 2 hours:P

really get a snack and take ur time man...
