This just in idiots, both those bikes have 4 stroke/ 4cycle motors. The dirtbike won because its rider got the jump. If it was a full 1/4 mile strip the rocket would have come around for the win.

If we are comparing 2 stroke and 4 strokes u gotta take into considereation that the pistons with a 450f are the same size as a 250. The thing that makes the engin bigger in 4 strokes is the valves and the cams that open and close those valves (which takes up cc's)

Valves and cams have ABSOLUTELY ZERO to do with cc's/engine displacement. Displacement, or CC's are determined by cylinder volume, which is a product of cylinder bore size vs piston stoke distance. Cams and valves are not even part of the equation.
the guy riding the rocket deff sucked, but unless that is a 250 or an incredibly weak 600, no 2 or 4 stroke dirt bike is gonna beat a rocket, but i dont think the bike actually beat the rocket, i believe the rocket passed him at the end.
two strokes are great if you want a piece of shit that fouls plugs and burns up piston rings... two strokes are old fashioned, not to mention the RPM's have to be through the roof before you get any power out of them...
i think you will find they race 450's against the 250 2t's all the time.

A 2 stroke fires at twice the rate of a 4 stroke, there for making it machanicly imposible to have 2 engines of the same capacity make the same power if one is a 4t and the other a 2t... the 2t will allways make more power, with a much more violent torqe curve. Thats common knowledge, but the truth is that stock for stock, a 450 will slaughter a 250 2 smoker. Ive owned both, and ya I like 250 smokers, but a 450 is in a whole different league. As for the classes, look at AMA, 250 4t & 2t are racing same class, 450s on there own.
