Idk, Rodger's put up better stats than Favre, is a top 10 NFL QB (statistically), and is a fuck of a lot better than any Vikings QB. The stats don't like with Rodgers. The Packers 6-10 record? Due to the inability to stop the run (injuries, lack of depth, bad talent), and inability to run the ball (Grant injuries, old tackles aging, revolving door in the interior OL).

Rodgers put up better stats?  Here is a stat for you 6 wins! Favre lead that team to 13 wins the year before. Rodgers is not a closer. He chokes under pressure. The only stat I care about is wins and losses.

Rodgers turns a 13 win team to a 6 win team.

Favre turns a 4 win team to a 9 win team.

That's the stat I care about.

You can list all the excuses you want, it comes down to winning games.

That's such a black and white way to look at it though. Rodgers and Favre did not single handedly lead their teams to their respective seasons. I watched every Packers game. The amount of times Rodgers the day in the 2nd half of the game was insane. It's just that the defense kept giving it back up! And at some point the accountability lies with the defense.

Yes, it does come down to winning games, but I like to look deeper than that. Favre failed to win down the stretch.

Favre threw more interceptions than touchdowns last season, struggled down the stretch, and failed to make the playoffs with the Jets despite having Thomas Jones carry the ball 30 times a game.

Rodgers was in what you should consider his rookie year, had a downgraded defense and tougher schedule than Favre the year before, and put up better numbers than him. Cut the guy some slack and realize the fact that his potential is very high right now in Green Bay.

In 2007, the New York Jets were 4-12 without Favre. In 2008, with a healthy Favre completing 71 percent of his passes through the first 11 games, the Jets doubled their victory total to 8-3 by upsetting the New England Patriots and undefeated Titans in Tennessee.

A healthy Favre threw 20 touchdown passes in 11 games and made the Jets a much better team.

An ailing Favre threw nine interceptions and caused them them go 1-4 down the stretch.

The last two years Favre is 22-10. If you take out the last 5 gams that he was hurt in the last two years he's 21-6.

Tom Brady the last two years (06 & 07), excluding the last 5 games of 2007 for comparison purposes was 23-4.

Favre's arm and shoulder have been hurting his entire career. 07 with the Packers in Dallas, he hit his elbow on the helmet of a DB, injuring a nerve in his elbow, and had to be removed from the game. Yet he came back the next week fine, and continued to play at a high level. So you're little stats based on injury/non-injuries are BS. You can't discount games in which he was "injured", he's being playing hurt his whole career, and that hasn't stopped him.

Nine interceptions isn't the product of a bad shoulder, it's the product of making dumb choices, combined with the inability to make those throws, because of the bad shoulder. Not sure exactly what you mean. Favre had surgery in the end of May. Are you saying why didn't he have it in the middle of the season? Or why didn't he sit on the bench? Those are questions for Coach Mangini not Favre. Coach obviously felt that a hurt Favre is better than the rest of the pretenders that they had at the QB position. Playing injured shows how tough Favre is. It's up to the coach if he plays.

D's respected Favre arms, which left 1 less guy in the box for Thomas Jones. Jones is a subpar back, and subpar backs exceed expectations with a good qb.

It's actually the opposite. Good RB's help average QB's win. Look at the Titans and Vikings as two examples. Jones sucked the year before due to bad OL play by the Jets, everyone knows that. They improved the OL over the off-season, and Jones got better. Simple.
