Hi Emme,

Question from London: i've seen a lot of luxury cars (MB,BMW etc) with their satnavs and yet most of the drivers are using TomTom or other satnavs. I mean removable ones. Some people say that those in-car satnavs are too complicated. Mind you they are taking about German luxury cars. Would you happen to know anything about it?

I use a Garmin, which I love. It's simple & accurate, except for that one time I was stopped on the GW Bridge & it told me there was no traffic on route. Um...no. Anyway, I think factory navs, bc the system often controls stereo, climate, & a billion other things, can seem complicated at first. There is usually a fairly steep learning curve, but once you figure it out it's nice to not have to keep moving the damn thing from your cabin to the trunk and back again!

I think Americans are more accepting of hybrids than we are of diesel. It's gotten a bad rap as being noisy and stinky and expensive. Hopefully with VW offering TDI Jetta, Bug Passat, etc we'll see that the diesels of today are awesome and get great mpg.

This car was worth getting on the strength of the 3rd row head rests. Who needs surf boards with that pair along for the ride. On the negative side, those overly-designed and engineered, spring-loaded cup holders make me wary that time and effort were spent on silly things and not making the car better.

I have the 08 SE model, with sunroof and nav. I have the 4-banger, and it's gutless. If you get one, get the 6 cylinder. That's the main recommendation I'd have. I do like my Outlander, just wish for a little more power, though the 4 cyl gets very good gas mileage.

the tail gate KICKS ARSE ! ! ! gee maybe other auto makers will follow suite, it seems very functional to me. why can't all the auto makers design an SUV with two rows of seats rather than three but have the second row sit farther back so actually real life adults humans can sit back there? the third row uses valuable space that's either needed for storage or real seating - at least give the buyer the option. We have a 2010 Outlander GT we love it. Navi is a mixed bag though. We have an RDX too and the Honda navis are better than Mitsubishis.

Because I just dont see how the outlander is that special.

Mitsubishi exist to make the Evo and turbochargers.

@datpimpinboy - No the outlander sport needs to come with the turbo 2.0 of the ralliart. It's got the same motor as the Evo and ralliart it would have been easy to add the turbo for the top of the line model.
