Im sorry, but what..WHAT. Okay, in terms of RPG elements, this game is about as effective as a retard trying to break through a wall with its head. Sure, he means well, but its never going to be effective. Have you ever,, EVER, played a game with a combat system as broken as this game. I like hack and slashers, but this game is TERRIBLE.

I really liked the game till I reached the point where you have to find 7 pieces of some totem or something. At that point I just quitted the game, because I didn't wanted to search the whole island for 7 pieces, but the game is still very good. I would give it 8/10 .

I was a fan of Gothic series. Gothic 1 and 2 Night of the Raven were the best games I ever played, Piranha Bytes did an awesome job. Gothic 3 was a fail and its expansion was an epic fail once more. Risen has all the elements from the Gothic series and more I really love this game. Though I will never forget Gothic I can say that this game is far more better then Gothic. And when I say better I don't mean just graphics.

@cli209 Verty true. I share the same point of view. Risen has surpassed Gothic I and II ( III excluded due to it's fail continued storyline and too much warfare). I has all the elements that were in the first two games of the series and improved. Playing the game makes you feel like your that person in front of your eyes and it becomes verry addictive. Graphics are clean, couldn't be much better. If somebody would want to buy a good RPG tell him/them to try this one. He will not regret his money

i'm sick of all RPG's deep silver made. No all those german RPG's are based on same shit with crappy concept and silly cinematics(in a bad way)

No offense to Germans,but only really good game which was copied even by the same studio was Gothic,others are pretty much the same(gameplay in general,combat mechanics,graphics,dialogue style)

Maybe Two Worlds can stand out from the crowd,it's only good copy of Gothic IMO.

first of all...deep silver is just the publisher of the game...they havnt "made" it.....and you said Gothic was the only game that was good in you opinion?...well Risen was made by the same programmers ;)...and it is said to be a gothic 2 with better graphics , more comfortable control system and different storyline.......but anyways....you should think about your opinion once again...

Another thing...gothic was a good game but it's character development and story were very weak. I'm sick of their stupid voice acting,same voices for various characters and various games. It's just....the thing i hate the most probably. And that point(characters,voice acting,dialogues) did not change one bit,it will stay the same in this one :(((
