I like these old school videos more than the new ones where Lynn smiles and stuff. These are all business and so hardcore. The new ones are kind of fruity.
I am a very proud one of the cold steel kukri. I use it when I go camping and at home. It is an amazing blade! If it ever came to it I would trust my life with it.
Seriously guys why is anyone upset about cutting a side of beef? Nothing is being implied except this is one serious bad add blade that will slice through damn near anything in its path!
That "fatty" is the president of the company and the designer of many of our products. He's spent the last 30 years building one of the largest knife companies in the world. What are your accomplishments? What have you achieved today? You said something stupid and ignorant on the Internet. Bravo. Well done. Go have a rest. You are probably tired after all that effort.
@mintyvision This knife has it has it's own attitude. It is a workhorse. As soon as you hold this knife in your hand you'll understand my meaning. As for our videos, we've been showing our knives strength, sharpness and cutting abilityl since 1980. No other company backs up their claims in this way. Sure, some of our tests are graphic, but when you buy a Cold Steel knife you're in no doubt of its capabilities. This is a Kukri you can trust your life to. We're very proud of that.
@Cudaman1157 We've also demonstrated our Boar Spears damage compared to that of a shotgun. We cut through tough material all the time (the Kukri we are discussing made a record cut of 15.5" of free hanging manilla rope in one cut!!! - that is extremely tough, fibrous material - many knives fail to cut even 1"). We also show graphic demonstrations against flesh and bone. This is one of those tests.
@Cudaman1157 Anyone who knows us knows how much we love firearms (check out our DVD Never Unarmed), but we also know the devastating power of edged weapons. We've proven through extensive testing that under the right circumstances a Kukri can do much more damage than even a .357. It's a viable option. Remember we are also an international company with fans, friends and customers all over the world, and not everyone enjoys the freedoms we have here in the USA.
I am dumbfounded by the majority of these comments. If you can't understand the reasoning behind these demonstrations, then you don't need this knife....or any for that matter. He's comparing it to a 357 magnum because not everyone can own, use and/or purchase a firearm. These product videos are for the customer's use in mind. No, you can't cut someone at 100 yards with a knife, but you also can't make an effective, silent kill with a firearm either (no suppressor argument needed). IF this knif
Yeah, the comparison with the .357 magnum was pretty lame, the cutting through huge chunks of meat are actually also not all that impressive. In cutting through any creature's body part the hide and bone will provide the greatest resistance, flesh, on the other hand, yield rather easily to any sharp blade.
The hacking through the tatami mats and cow ribs were truly impressive though. This kukri sure can cut!
How can you compare a knife to a gun? Ridiculous, you have to take into account that the 357 has a gaztrillion times better effective range than a knife.
@wazzy3007 Lol,,no kidding man,I mean seriously, that all looks like nice meat> who cares if it's been shot with jacked hollow points and Gurka knives, were guys, what the cripes do we care about such minor details. I say >BBQ! This gives me a idea for my next male bonding party for my buddies I throw every summer.Looks like I'll be buying a C/S Gurka for it:)
@iiSamples Which idiot uses the blade to hit a brick? His just showing the durability of the kukri, you fool. And Cold Steel products have good quality steel for the price.
I really want this knife... that being said, if I had a choice between having my .357 GP100 and this blade, I'll take the .357 everyday and twice on Sunday. Effective blade: YES; Great chopping blade: Absolutely... more stopping power then a .357 MAG loaded with... any load: NOPE.
@HamonLord The Kukri wins. Katana stops when it's wielder stops. As far as Kukri go this imitation is a lot lighter then the think spring-steel ones Gurka make. Near perfect weapon for breaching enemy lines in trench warfare. Dead wielder will still come down with enough force to crack your skull.
@HamonLord those are 2 people. Was talking weapons. Remember how so few Greeks with long spears, high shields beat so many Persians? Remember how the US beat the Iraqi Republic Guard? Hint it wasn't the spirit of their troops. Samurai have a lot of training sure, when they aren't just arresting thugs. Katana isn't as heavy as Kukri while it is delivered in a more swift action, this is my reasoning for seeing the Kukri being so dangerous. Simply because it's still falling no matter what.
he doesnt take human bone into consideration when cutting. cutting through bone should be quite harder than flesh but I understand hes trying to sell his product lol
@nanolith777 depending of how pure is the silver. as example you can almost use pure silver wire to lace your boot. but if you use 925 silver which is using a alloy of copper in to make it stronger. there is more chance this piece was made of a stronger silver and not pure silver.
@nanolith777 I know he was acting like he just cut through steel.. lol
But the cinder block one was impressive. Not worth the $200 for one though. Unless you plan to be cutting through cinder blocks and large slabs of meat on a daily basis.
My $8 Tramontina seems to chop up anything I throw at it pretty well.
Yea they are different weapons, but think about most likely purpose: self defense. A gun can get shot at close range as well, but only does damage in 1 direction. Comparing gun and a knife is pointless. Kukri or no, with enough distance between me and an oponent armed with knife i'll just put a bullet in his head. Those are two completely different type of weapon.

i dont see what is wrong, the magnum did what it was made to do, what are you trying to prove?..... that a gun can shoot it and a machete can cut it?

Comparing gun and a knife is pointless. Kukri or no, with enough distance between me and an oponent armed with knife i'll just put a bullet in his head. Those are two completely different type of weapon.
