did this have a carb or was it efi? i dont remember when they switched over. i find carb'd engines sound a little different than fuel injected. if this is fuel injected im getting dual glasspacks on mine immediately! haha

Yes EFI. In 85 EFI was an option. 86 was when were just EFI.

@ivanruiz89 i got an efi and it sounds awesome. i didnt even bother puttin glass packs on. its just straight roll cage tubing off a gutted cat

yeah after this video i cut off my flowmaster s-i/d-o and just put a single glasspack in its place. i didnt have a cat to begin with so its a 2.5" pipe off the Y pipe to a glasspack with a turndown before the axle. it sounds much better than i expected

It was stock exhaust manifolds,and custom 2.25" true duals with glasspacks and tips 45ed out the rear. I didn't have this exhaust long and I sold the truck.

Trust me they were glasspacks. I cut them off when I redid the whole exhaust system with LT headers. Glasspacks don't really rumble. They are more of a raspy muffler.

Yes it will be quieter because of the cat. I have true duals (dual pipes all the way back with a muffler for each pipe) so it will sound different for you. My friend has a 92 F150 302 and it a glasspack put right after the cat and Y making it duals out the back and its pretty quiet but still sounds good.

Here is the Definition of a "Glasspack"

A glasspack, sometimes called Cherrybomb (a popular brand of glasspack), is a kind of automobile muffler in which the exhaust gas passes straight through the center of the muffler. Packed fiberglass surrounds the exhaust channel and absorbs some of the high-frequency sound.

I have two Flowtech Red Hots (basically the same thing) on my 79 Stang with a 302. Itss got true 2.5" duals and an x-pipe. Its quieter though. This is a little too poppy for me.

Nice truck I've got a lot of Ford Trucks; unfortunately I live up north and they always rust up hear because of the moisture and the salt on the road from snow plowing. I'll have to post a video of my 1984 F-150 with a 351W, its load as all hell.

Thats great, I also enjoy my Fords, my first one was a 1991 F-150 Custom 300 straight 6 with the M5R2 5 speed 2-wheel drive...the truck drove smoother and quieter than a Cadillac...unfortunately I was young and I hit a patch of ice going down a steep hill and kissed a high curb hard enough to fold the passenger side A-Arm under the truck. I'll see if I can upload some vids of all my Fords (past and present)
