one of my heroes, i will never forget seeing Truman and Wes play the holiday market 1992. the Valsetz Logger's Lament sticks in my mind and will forever. Truman was gracious enough to autograph my copies of his cd's I bought. It is such a pleasure to watch someone doing what they truly love to do, and knowing they will pursue it until their last breath.
I had an irish trad player try to tell me that you can't play irish trad from that position. I have watched this video many times and Mr. Price doesn't seem to have any problems with the rolls, cuts and other ornaments in the song.
Thank you Mr. Price, for sharing your music. If you cause one kid to whistle Old Joe Clark, instead of memorizing hip hop "lyrics," you will have lived a life of great accomplishment.
Love the video. Great song. Hey, I can help you with My Space. I'm myspace/hucktunes, click the 'I pimped my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4' link and pimp your profile. While you're there, add me as a friend.
That's the only one there is, I think. The field is just a block east of the end of NW Huckleberry, behind a line of trees, and it is pristine. It was the home of a native village, and you can see along the east side where the old California-Oregon trail ran. Bob Zybach and friends would love to stop the development that is promised.
Julian?! Good to hear from you. Life's the same around here, gardens, books, fiddle, and these new devices - youtube & myspace - are fun (if I can figure out how to use myspace). Any oldtime fiddlers in Japan?
Right it's me ^^ Gardens books and fiddle sounds mighty fine...life around here is the same too.LOL diapers, midnight wailings, and 3's of everything imgaginable....it's mostly a great joy Truman. Fiddlers in Japan? please check google "fiddlers in Tokyo" excited to see your new post. (btw, i have no idea how to work myspace either. ;0;
Actually it was spring, and we were uprooting blackberry vines to free the camas. The area was a native village long ago, and has the thickest camas I've ever seen.

I think this tune is mentioned by Laura Ingalls Wilder as one of the tunes "Pa" would play on his fiddle.
