UGH can anyone help, ok so my Hard Drive was dynamic, and i changed it to Basic to try out windows 8. After installing windows 8, it worked and all, but i made the hard drive to dynamic again. After restarting my laptop, it kept crashing, so i booted windows 7 again and deleted the disk partion, and now everytime i start my computer, it gives me the option to choose between windows 8 and windows 7 and i already deleted windows 8?? could anyone help me with this??

When you are in the setup of XP, just re-format the C: drive and that's it, then install XP on the C: drive. If you do not have the disc, ask an electronics place near you to for one. Like Best Buy or Futureshop. They don't cost that much. Make sure it is a recovery disc.

You have to format the drive via a computer. You could try to take it to a computer repair shop. They may have some method of extracting the information. (They could probably reformat it on a linux computer without any problem)

Yes, If you start your computer in bios you can make your computer boot the external first. Install an OS on the external and format the other computer.

please read the video description before asking a question- you can only partition a hard drive if you are not running your computer off it. (This is true in your case) The best thing for you to do is to buy another hard drive, external or a flashdrive to store your backup files.

That is not a proper answer! There are tools(for example Powerquest Partition Magic) with which you can partition a hard drive which serves as a system partition. The partitioner does this by "squeezing" together the files on the drive, so you can "cut" off an empty space for a partition and use is for whatever you like!

No you can't. If you partition the c drive, then it would be similar to having 3 hard drives.

Sometimes, you can shrink a volume. To do this, under the disk management right click the drive you want to shrink and select the shrink option. Specify how much space you want to free up. The space you free can be used for a new partition or whatever else you want it for.
