I never played this game, but actually as far I know, playing as character different then Sora on this level requires some cheats. Mickey is completely unplayable in this game, so this guy required cheats to play as Mickey.

I think it's side-quest to battle Sephiroth, but I'm not sure.

But I can't give everything to bet that I'm right. :)

When you play as Mickey legitimately, you only have three menu options: Attack, Pearl, and Jump.

This is the standard menu, but all options except Attack are locked. I'm sure someone will figure out how to put Pearl into this menu eventually...

if you saved your game with a code on to play as mickey... you might be playing him forever in that file, IM NOT 100% SURE, but it can be bad, any cutscenes that show sora immediatly will usually crash the game, but if you use codebreaker/action replay/gameshark to play as someone else, it might change you to that character, but your files probably messed up badly now

The battle was programmed with reactions tied to the Sora model. When you use the reactions as mickey, the game still loads the reactions, but nothing happens except for basic events (move character from here to there, subtract x from hp) so he moves, and then freezes because it can't find any other files related to the command.
