I read in Pavel's book on kettlebells that you should only do it on sand. No matter how strong your KB it's going to break when tossed onto any other surface than sand.
if u can find a good welding shop they can weld cast iron, idk if it would be the same but worth a try, thats a pretty exxpensive chunk of metal with a handle
I had a client snap the handle off of a 106 lb/48kg cast iron bell ...that really sucks.
Get some of the World Kettlebell Club or American Kettlebell Club Pro Kettlebells -they might cost more -but are solid Steel and much stronger than the cast iron bells.

D'oh! A real cast iron kettlebell can break pretty easily if dropped just right. We have all done it, I'm just glad my "oops" never got on tape.

Cheers mate, I'm thinking of drilling a hole through it to make a really heavy macebell.
