What is this semi-Pet shop boys like band! terrible arrangement! It's not the language that is not suited, but couldn't it be better arrangement in terms of sound...
Drums are bad, bass is poor (just listen de original version), drums are bad, vocals lack feeling, drums are REALLY bad.... the original melody is totally lost, this version is empty, without feeling at all...
its nice but, and i'm not trying to compare the two, not as moving as the Spitz version. i imagine this more as a song to play while driving thru the country with the top down.
If you compare this version with the original one, then you're missing the point and you're keeping yourself from enjoying the beauty of this take. Simply beautiful.
okay..sound funny at certain parts. the impression was like it is sung by a British old school band. does the English version song meanings still the same as the Japanese version?
For as long as they're (Spitz) the ones who did the translation, we're not in a position to judge. Only they would know how they felt while writing it, so instead of the words being translated, the feelings were being translated into expressions to which the english-speaking audiences can hopefully relate(as only the Japanese can fully relate to their lyrics). Just think of it as another original. Directly translating the lyrics would make it sound a bit awkward. It's still good anyways. :P
wow, they totally screwed up the second part of the chorus
"ookii na chikara de sora ni ukabetara
rurara uchuu no kaze ni noru"
means:
"if we float up to the sky with great power, lulala, we'll ride on the winds of the universe"
and those are the lyrics i can translate for sure myself, and the rest of it just doesn't sound right (sang and translated this song for a japanese project)
good try though, at least the beat was still right
Sadly, to a Spitz fan, it is :( Spitz is a really, really tight band and this song practically captures the best of them. This cover doesn't come up to par. Not by a long shot.
does anyone have lyrics or anything else for this song? I love it (as well as the original), but can't understand some of the words... plus I'd like to know more about the band. thanks!

Nice remake as it added a bit light-hearted feeling to an emotional song, yet there're subtleties need to be improved.

言ってることわかんないけど、マサムネの声とスピッツの音有りきの私には全く受け付けなかった。冷静に聴けば悪く無いのかもしれないけど、無理だった。歌始まった途端、どっかの民族音楽を無理矢理英語で歌った様な受け入れ難い違和感が走った。興味を持ってくれたのは凄く嬉しいんだけど何か違う。。。それとも、何かの企画物ですか?

the drums are so electric and harsh... the lyrics are clumsy with only a vague touch on some superficial feelings...
the voice is also struggling on some of those high notes...
i prefer the original, but have tried giving this one a chance... it's a completely different song, and evokes a different feeling altogether...

It is a different thing. All.

When I was in Japan last year, I heard an English version of Robinson, but it wasn't this. It had a female vocalist.
Does anyone know what I heard?
