Rod is not "overrated" at all. His gift is one of the most "unique and recognizable" voices in the pop/rock music genre. Those two traits are what any notable A&R person seeks to find in a new artist. That is why Rod became a star. One never wonders "is that Rod Stewart or someone else ?".
Ronniw Wood and Rod Stewart have similar facial features. Are they related in any way? Then again my first boyfriend looked like Rod Stweard so who knows. LOL.
It's so funny how they make next to no attempt to hide the fact that they're not actually playing the song live. Could John Peel even play the mandolin?
i was born 12 years after this performance...damn!!! but this is one of my all time favorite song....i wonder where all these gr8 performers and musicians r gone....today all we have in music industry are trash and sold out....
@CamySmith16 same i totally agree im 15 i was born in the wrong times!!the music now is trash back then they had guns n roses, stevie wonder, elton john, queen and james brown, alice cooper, van morrison, bob dylan and bob marley as the norm!!music now is just terrible!!
@vaughan4082 yeah cause there was different varieties of music around then, only decent music there is now is eminem, which is only some songs, the rest all sound the same to me. 70's, 80's & 90's Music FTW!
My mom loved Rod so much when I grew up and I must admit he is one of my favorites of all time now. This,Infatuation and if you think I'm Sexy? Are my top 3! Such an original and amazing artist!
omg!..yes this is it!....its the song that i started loving rod.....1970....a very big hit....oh i love this tune so much..so many great memories here on this tune...thank you dearly......
@quiltbee So glad mom told you about my channel. If no other reason than you found your video that has so many great memories for you. Thank you for the comment. kerie
@ednaflima23 Well, this archive footage of 'Stewarty' is very nearly 40 years old now; it was recorded in October 1971. Obviously, he was a lot younger - and a lot better looking - then than he is now. Time waits for no man (or woman) unfortunately.
You are, of course, correct when you imply that his voice has not changed as much as his physical appearance, during the course of the last 40 years. The voice does not age at the same rate as the body!
omg i love it. such a classic sound you can never get out of your head. they were so young.... and those hairstyles! i'm very late responding (sorry) but thank you! XXX
