  • it will never be legalized in the USA unless some real actual "change" takes place in this country. Im a libertarian and im sick of this persecution of all types of people. People are just so misguided on this issue as with most issues. N way as our George Washington said, "Make the most of the Indian hemp seed, and sow it everywhere!

  • The funny thing is that conservative MP Rahim Jaffer just got arrested for DUI and cocaine possession. I wonder if he still wants more jails and longer sentences,,,, hahaha LMAO

  • FUCK THE CONSERVATIVES!!! Fuckin'US envying,anti-Canadian lunatics.

Stephen harper should be shot and shit on..cocksucking motherfucker!!~!!

  • REAL conservatives want marijuana. Look at Washington, Jefferson, Adams etc. The truest conservatives were pro hemp. The US government that did this to marc were NOT conservatives. And Obama is a liberal and he hasn't done anything to change this. Free Marc and the weed.

  • I couldn't agree with you more about Obama.The Democrats are Republican-Lite.

But I don't see how 'real' conservatives want marijuana legal when the Reform Party wants a zero tolerance, reefer madness policy in this country which,by the way,WAS pot friendly up until Harper's conservatives came into power.

  • Well, a true conservative believes that it is a persons right to choose what they put into their body, and doesn't believe the government has the power to take away that right. Just google Ron Paul on Marijuana and you'll see true conservatism

  • I'm aware about Dr.Paul who in reality is a Libertarian. There are 2 types of conservative--the fiscal con and the social con.I'm not a conservative of any stripe but a fiscal conservative is not completely insane and is not bent on restricting civil liberties or rights.A social con has more in common with fascism than any free and/or democratic society.Hence,I hate the Reform Party.

  • Libertarian is fiscally conservative and i'm glad you know the difference :)

  • I admit that I have absolutely no bone to pick with Libertarians.Afterall, they are dead on that government has no place in our personal lives.

  • Canada is now on the fast track to deep integration with the U.S. We are now in the process of harmonizing many of our laws with our American neighbours. Marijuana laws would be no exception and really at this point, the least of our worries! How can we worry about any law at the moment when we are in the process of handing over what little sovereignty we have. The very freedoms, liberties and rights we use to fight things like this are about to expire, Research NAU (North American Union)/ SPP

  • The Harper government scorns the Constitution, scorns the Supreme Court, Scorns Parliament, scorns the will of the People, and scorns the facts, and scorned the truth. Just like all tyrannical power-pusher. The US-style "war on drugs" has ruined millions of lives and careers and families, supported gangs and Organized Crime, filled the courts and jails, eroded our rights and freedoms, corrupted cops and politicians, cost billions of dollars, and has not decreased drug use by even one percent.
  • marc looks like the white guy in half baked :P

  • Yaa.. Cocaine can gettcha high at a pretty steep pirce, and weed is great for getting satisfactorally high with 10 bucks, is virtually harmless with a vaporizer, and it's yeild for the production of ethonal and fiber is about 5x that of any other crop.

yet, they comfortably group the two togther in this. Not overly objective from my point of view.

  • The special interests (oil companies) don't want to let the genie out of the bottle. If farmers were able to do large scale harvesting of the hemp plant the oil industry would be in trouble over night.

  • Are we safe in Amsterdam still? My P.O. stares at my dick when I pee? Should I be a angry man? or do 3 years in prison? Legalize Kocaine.

  • medical cocaine is legal in American but Medical Marijuana isnt? Thats so messed up.

All I have to says is WOOOOOW!!!

Ron Paul march on june 21 in washington dc any one able to attend do so its a great cause!

    Free the B.C 3!!!

  • FREE THE WEED

  • I praise both marc and jodie they are heros to the cause

  • I hope every Canadian is calling their American friends and relatives to tell them about RON PAUL! He is, hands down, the most patriotic American that has ever run for president in our times.

  • sad news... funny how conservatives say they wanna "protect" our children. I didn't know protecting people consisted of putting them in jail. Hmm...

  • @lzflzflzf putting kids in jail? i thought it was adults

  • I hate social conservatives, Get with the times, your old news Harper, hanging on to the past by your fingernails, telling me what to do with my body fucking tyrants. You will never get my vote, or my support.

  • I really believe all drugs even heroin and cocaine, etc should be legal. There's an entire under ground society making it more dangerous lacing drugs and creating violence. If it was regulated by the govenment all drugs would be safer and handled much better.

  • just look at Americas war on drugs they blow millions of dollars for nothing there are still drugs

    everywhere .

  • Billions actually. Nearly a trillion.

    Great strategy to emulate right?

  • I can't understand it any more. I just don't understand why governments keep going against the scientific evidence, against the sociological evidence - in fact, against all the evidence that has been reliably presented in the past 80 years, by claiming that the illegality of drugs is successful. It saddens me to think that we are governed by people who are motivated more by dogma than compassion and concern.

  • as a American i don't feel safer because the drug! drugs are everywhere.

  • ok so Stephen Harper has proven that hes retarded. This "strategy" is like trying to wash your face with dog shit, it just doesnt work.

  • Imagine being a medical doctor that smokes a bit of pot (they're out there). You save lives and contribute to society positively but could get a criminal record and lose everything because you smoke a bit of pot. Mr. Harper, have you ever smoked pot? Most likely you have at some time or another.

  • exactly right!!! I DONT KNOW ONE POTHEAD WHO GOT THEIR LIFE RUINED OTHER THAN GETTING ARRESTED...so yeah marijuana is dangerous cause OF THE LAW!!! did you see marc? he looked so cool when he hit that bong!!! GO AWAY DEA (Dead End Americans)

  • Imagine that you're a pot smoker. You hated the previous Liberal government so you voted for the Conservatives to get rid of Paul Martin/The Liberals. But now the Conservatives want to prosecute you, the pot smoker that voted for them. It's not out of the realm of possibility, not all pot smokers are "left".

  • Damn right. I'm a hardcore right-wing pot smoker.

I don't like the drug laws because it increases the size of government and waste so much tax money like a liberal.

  • Me too. What is one who is fiscally conservative yet socially liberal to do in Canada? I hated Paul Martin and voted for Harper because I am AGAINST big government and all that nanny state nonsense, and now we get this crap. What a disaster.

  • Well I am pro-life and mostly socially conservative, but the whole war on drugs thing is total bs.

  • marc emery GOD BLESS YOU!!!! and screw the DEA for going after you when they could be going after ACTUAL DRUGS (I.E Crack,Meth,Coke,Rx,Whiskey,Tobacco)

  • yes lets do a war on people in canada too and waste billions of dollars and ruin peoples lives for smoking a weed that grows anywhere that GOD made not MAN!!!! fuk man I trust god more than anything....GO TO MY PROFILE FOR FACTS ON MARIJUANA!

  • I don't necessarily care about legalizing all drugs, not I don't really want that at all... But I do believe people have the right to put whatever they want into their own bodies, and not get arrested for it.

Frankly, I just want pot legal, so I can do that, something simple, natural, and safer than alcohol... Without fear of being arrested for using some "evil horrible criminal drug". We just want to smoke harmless pot in peace, why must the government deny us that pleasure? We harm no one!

  • Over 200,000 Americans in jail over marijuana, the size of a city, the size of a significant number that have had their privilege to vote denied.

  • Voting righs are lost only if under an order of imprisonment. Such rights are automatically restored upon termination of supervison. From a United States Probation Termination Notification. Which leads me to believe, the vote is useless because they wouldn't be giving anyone who has suffered at their hands and seen the injustice of their whole game a chance to do something to change it.

  • The 60's generation seemed to have mostly turned corporate and have turned their backs on the ideals they generated, not only including the right to ingest what one wants but also to love. A turned back is not a being of love.

  • Oh damn, I've been subscribed to the Prince Of Pot for a while but I didn't know that Jodie had a youtube account also..

  • "The continued prohibition of cannabis jeopardizes the health and well-being of Canadians MUCH MORE than does the substance itself."

Canadian government spent over $800,000 to research this subject and this was their conclusion.

What evidence is the health minister using to come to his conclusions?

He is a fraud and should resign.

  • Harper will never debate the facts because he can't.

He would not be able to stand up in public and say alchohal and tabbacco are any better than cannabis or any other drug.

There is no evidence that a drug like cannabis which is classified less harmful than caffine should result with time in a cage.

Lets debate it! we'll put alchohal and tabbacco up against illegal drugs and see which causes more deaths, violence, addictions, terminal illnesses and social problems.

  • Safe injection sites are a place for addicts to interact with people that care about them. Would it be easier to treat a addict you met in a dark ally cracked out who has never seen you before? Or would it be easier to treat somebody of an addiction who you have a previous bond with, that comes in to see you almost daily.

It's about helping these people not putting them in a cage like Harper wants.

What kind of a government would hinder this process?

  • The US war on drugs has been proven to be the biggest screw up since prohibition.

Not only has it increased violence like prhibition but it's made drugs better quality, cheaper and more available.

Anyone in the world can see that the US style drug war is a comlete failure.

Following their drug war would be like building an exact replica of the titanic and using it as an artic icebreaker.

  • Both alchohal and tabbacco have been classified worse than cannabis since the 70's.

Cannabis is classified a safer drug to use than caffine!

Steven Harper needs to start telling people what new facts they have used to come to this conclusion. He is going against every fact and study published on cannabis.

Alchohal's negative effects are rape, violence, domestic violence, loss of motor skills and inability to control your inhibitions. Yet this drug is served everywhere, give me a break.

  • Dude, what happened to the Pot TV website, it's been taken over by some Japanese website called "Star Game"???!!!

  • Thanks for posting this, Jodie!

  • exactally, but as soon as you cause harm to someone else you should be arrested

  • viva la revolution!

  • You MORONS!!! Don't you see how much pain the drug war is causing? 16.5 percent of Canadians smoke weed. Do you really intend to put 16.5% of your population in prison? How stupid can you possibly be? You might as well declare yourselves an American state, since your "leaders" do nothing but bow down to our "leaders" and lick their boots. I hope you all remember this come next election. No offense meant to the Canadians with brains, like Marc and Jodie.

  • well said.

  • 17.5% of Canadaians*.. ;-)

  • Why do governments (and media) INSIST on looking at the issue as either, soft on drugs, or hard on drugs?

Why not smart on drugs? lol and smart on freedoms...

  • And excuse me for saying so... but why does it seem sometimes, at least for these issues... That the Canadian government is acting as the US government's bitch? -_-

  • hey jodie, should we be scared?

  • I am personally concerned. The Conservative party, the ruling minority government, wants to win an election this winter if it gets called. They will make Canada very much like America in the war on drugs.

  • Best of luck with u guys, u have alot of support.

  • is it possible for them to loose?

  • @chronic604 ain'ts they

  • go after crack, cocaine, heroin, drunk drivers, all other deadly drugs, but leave cannabis alone. Don't police have better things to do than arrest citizens for a joint? The drug war is unconstitutional.

  • So legalize the drug YOU like..

But criminalize drug users/victimless crimes YOU don't like?

you sound almost as bad as alcoholics that don't like marijuana..

  • My main point is this..

One of the biggest arguments for legalizing marijuana is this.

It is my body, and If I am not hurting anyone else. It is non of your business..

As soon as you say "Keep heroine illegal" that argument goes out the window.

either you be a crack head, or a pot head. It is YOUR body.

  • i think we should keep the drugs that are addictive and can kill you illegal for now at least. Just legalize marijuana and we will automatically see the other bad drug use go down.

  • An addict is an addict they need help not cages. It could be alchohal, tabbacco, crack, weed or heroin it doesn't matter.

These drugs are not going away ever, ask the united states on their failed drug war.

It is a benefit to all people to legalize these drugs so that if they do get hooked on these drugs that are not going away they can get help. The crimnal justice system has nothing to offer addicts only jail time and a criminal record that will follow them even if they stop using.

  • i agree they should be able to get help, not go to jail. But right now, saying that we want all drugs decriminalized may be asking a bit much. And too many will be against it. If we can just get cannabis users out of jail then we can later get the rest out.

  • LEGALIZE IT

  • I wonder what would happen if EVERY pot smoker decided to get busted for marijuana.. (civil disobedience)

Would that be enough for the government(s) to decide that this "war" is ridiculous?

  • no

call people, make letters, even go door to door!

im from ottawa if i see that guy i would go right up to him and hit the bong just liek Marc!

  • Well I am not saying this would be realistic... AT ALL

But WHAT IF, every weed smoker decided to get busted for weed?

I think it would work, but as far as reality goes, it simply would not be realistic to ask for all weed smokers to put their knecks on the line...

I wouldn't do it.. unless I KNEW MOST weed smokers would do the same.. but NO ONE would KNOW for a fact ANYONE else would do the same..

  • if everybody called there department then maybe we can make a change, i hope we can for the best.

  • Well look at blacks..

Did they get their rights by continuely writing, and calling their departments? Begging and pleading to be equals?

No they got it by sitting ther asses down in racist restaurants, and refusing to move from the bus seat..

  • Yeah man true that. do it for you're country!

  • i dont care if they make a policy my policy is peace love unity respect

  • you hit that bong emery! keep the good fight up.
