Am I the only one who takes offense to the fact that great, talented bands like this are practically unheard of, while talentless hacks like Lady Gaggin' don't write their own shit and are famous for nothing?
@mormonjoe Yeah man, it's actually true now that you mentioned it. Our world is becoming materialistic and everyone who is gullible are being consumed by it which is making the majority of our society fucked up as well as our economy.
@mormonjoe See, that's the beauty of it though. Pelican and other bands dedicate their lives to this music, even knowing that they'll never achieve mainstream recognition, never have millions of dollars at their disposal, never have their agents book them in 5 star hotels, travel to shows and awards ceremonies in limosines.
..does anyone doubt that if Lady Gaga wasn't earning sufficient amounts of money for what she does, she wouldn't even set foot on stage?
For every man, woman,or child, there is few songs that bring tears to your eyes, along with goosebumps of what a candy for ears particular song might be,i do dare to call such song a masterpiece of it's own kind, and this song indeed is one of them,at least in my case, especially the very first 40 or so seconds.
@schpleeb actually at 4:29 to 7:32 is when everything start "Pelican meet ISIS & MOGWAI in the most beautiful dreams that they ever have in their lives!!!
@Kaz377 so fucking true. Even your post gave me goosebumps. It's trule eargasm all the way from 4:29, and as it hits 5:52 the adrenaline is just plowing me i tend to cry a tear or two.

I bet this would feel and sound really good in concert. I think it has a visceral vibration in the song.
stopglobalswarming 1 year ago
so they got rid of there dark unsettling angry sound and just went for sounding really big, like they all have really big dicks, they sound cocky
chumbscrubber42 1 year ago
If my mind could masturbate, these are the sounds it would make during the process... love every second of it...brilliant band!

pelican have become a lot more mellow than in their early stuff. and when that translates into tracks such as this I don't mind at all.

It has such a cool vibe to it.
I have tabbed it out for one guitar if anybody is interested .

Truman165 2 years ago 5
City of echoes is really good, but it kind of drifts out of touch with the other two albums. imo. but it was my first pelican album, so im biased :)
