This is the saddest track of the entire films, even more sad then Dumbledore's farewell because at that time we at least knew that there were more time with Harry, but this was the freaking end!
Harry Potter is more than an Epic story. It's a world were you can escape and have magical adventures. When watching the films I don't think as it as "I'm watching a film with good actors and a good storyline" The depth of the story, characters and magical world are sooooo detailed that I believe it's all real. That is why Harry Potter is and always will be the best book and film series ever made!! LONG LIVE HARRY POTTER, THE BOY WHO LIVED!! I will truely miss you :'(
I love how this music is both sad and soothing at the same time. It makes me think of how Harry, Ron and Hermione (and fans!) face the end of childhood, yet are also relieved that the threat of Voldemort has finally passed.
OMG DAT SCENE! The time I was thinking "OMG, my childhood is ending!" And that scene was so emotional... like, u wanna watcha the last frame of that scene before it's closing in the dark...
I cried the second time i watched Part 2. near the end. its so sad but happy. and On Facebook there was some kind of Celebration for the end of the Saga, and Era, at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at the Universal Orlando Florida Theme park..watched it. I guess if so then thats it! NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! The Generation and Era of Harry, Ron, and Hermione will live Forever. Long Live His Legend of The Boy Who lived!..now since i got into HP this year..yeah. i know. nothin left...:(
@Ilonahartjee this one is used just before, when harry, ron and hermione are standing on the bridge at the end of the battle of hogwarts. But Leaving Hogwarts is played in the epilogue.
What I like is that it's not a big trumpet violin finale it's not like usual final songs which are epic, it's simple and understated. A gentle goodbye to three good people.
Every time I picture Harry, Ron and Hermione holding hands in this scene, I just can't stop myself from feeleing like I have lost my absolutely best friend ... I feel like crying the shit out of me, and just hide in my room. This is truely my world ! Anyone else who aren't HP fans will never understand . : ( < / 3
The FINAL Harry Potter movie was probably the most epic cinema experience in my entire life. It´s rather depressing there will be no more movies but hey, give the makers and excellent actors and actresses some credit for the era they accomplished! :D
In 100 years from now the new generation will probably think this sucks but then they´re foolish and still mourning for justin beibers death!!!
My friends mocked me for sobbing hysterically at the end from happiness and sadness... it was like a part of my life died. I grew up with magic, can you blame me? :)
J.K Rowling, thanks for making my childhood a special one. You're the best.
I am still convinced that J.K Rowling should NOT have done an epilogue. It would have been better if it ended with harry ron and hermione as they were! I didn't like seeing them grown up with children :( its hard to adapt to seeing them like that :(
A New Beginning so perfect title for an awesome song... it makes me wanna cry but tears of happiness :') its the a new beginning for the cast, for the character, for jk and for the potterheads :) maybe the story is over but the it will be i our hearts forever <3
''Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home'' - Joanne Rowling
In my opinion, this is the most painful track to listen to. I just get so choked up because I know I'll never read another one of Harry, Ron and Hermione's adventures ever again.
A new beginning for Harry Ron and Hermione, a new beginning for Dan, Rupert and Emma, a new beginning for us - the potterheads. I swear, HP will always live inside me, there's no better story than this. Thank you, JO.
I went to the theaters, my ticket said the movie was to begin at 1:00 P.M By mistake I went to the 1:30 P.M movie. I was waiting inside and nobody was there. The credits from the movie that had just ended were rolling. This soundtrack was playing and I felt like a part of me died. I switched to the correct time. I sat there watching like a kid again. Harry Potter was and will be my favorite movie and books and hopefully nobody ruins the name with remakes. It's hard to say, I feel nostalgic, sad.
Im gonna celebrate the end of Harry Potter (In a GOOD way) by reading all of the books, playing the games, and most importantly watching the movies again :'(
@SlurrpsMcgee First, how can you think it's more important to watch the movies than read the books?!?!
And this is NOT the end of Harry Potter, because Harry Potter doesn't have an end ("He'll never be gone! Not as long as those who remain are loyal to him!")
I remember when when Harry, Ron and Hermione were standing on the bridge and the music was playing and they didn't speak they just looked ahead and i remember i turned over to my little sister and she looked at me and i a tear ran down the side of her face and we both looked and smiled at each other because we both new it was over but we both remembered the magical time we had together watching these movies together as children
Random fact : I'm Pretty sure that 19 years after would be the year 2014, wouldnt it? It would be funny if James made a facebook & didnt tell anyone in his family how to use it :P
Man they should definitely make a prequel for the Harry Potter series. Theres so much more history and events before "Philosopher's Stone". Maybe a movie about Dumbledore, or Snape, or The first war against Voldemort involving the original Order of the phoenix. Any of those would be great. Cmon the "X-Men First Class" movie was done very well, and now they're are making "The Hobbit" movie for "The Lord of The Rings series". WHY NOT A HARRY POTTER PREQUEL?
@MrCHEADOG A movie about the marauders would be good, ending with the first war against voldemort. I think that a movie about the creation of hogwarts would be awesome too.
When I saw that scene, I felt strings pull at my heart T-T Harry Potter being over is one thing, but when a music piece has that sort of effect on you, you know that it must be a beautiful piece.
I liked this scene. The calm, soothing atmosphere felt like rain after a firestorm. The trio just standing on the bridge, just about ready to begin a brand new chapter of their lives......
Before the first film was shot, originally Steven Spielberg was going to direct Harry Potter. He wanted to animate the films and have an American kid voice over Harry Potter. I am SO SO glad that didn't happen! I think only a British film could produce films so intimate, yet so BIG as the Harry Potter franchise. THIS was my childhood, thank you.
I had to laugh at a point in this through the tears-- Ron was fat.
But I guess it was inevitable, the amount of chocolate frogs, every-flavor beans, etc etc etc etc he ate, and he wasn't going to be running around after Harry anymore..
I'm going to write a harry potter book where J.K rowling left off 19 years later after the battle of hogwarts, but I need some ideas like what the title should be and some story ideas, I wanted to write a book because I felt so bad when it was over, heck I cried so yeah so, please give me your ideas by replying
@troopersarsan If you want to write an official book, you won't be able to. You would need Rowling's permission, and I doubt very much she would ever allow anyone other than herself to make an HP book.
If you plan on writing fan fiction, that's a different story. If I were to write one, I would write abouth their kid's adverntures in Hogwarts. That or maybe about Harry's life as an auror.
@LetYourMemoryLeadYou no, it's not that one...just checked. it was in the eigth movie and ive gone through all off them... my memory is messing with me. thanks anyway.
It's the bit at 0:33 that gets me teared up, I remember hearing that bit in the cinema where they're all standing outside Hogwarts and it just reminded me it was the very end, because that part of the music just seems empty, like there's nothing left. So sad :(
@LordGeorgeRodney THANK YOU, I knew it sounded familiar!! lol. It's not the exact same tho, but it's obviously based on that track! Which I think is cool!
Even though it hurts to play this song reminding me of the scene and realizing it is all over. I can't stop hitting replay, because this is so beautiful. There may not be another book or film of Harry Potter again but in the words of J.K Rowling "Whether you come back by film or by page, Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home.”
fought so hard to hold back my tears when i heard this in the cinema. seeing harry, ron and hermione standing there on the bridge.. i knew it was over.
@hsgomesp Very much so! All the soundtracks are so wonderfully composed. Lily's Theme, A New Beginning, Severus and Lily, Statues, Courtyard Apocalypse, etc etc. are all such amazing tracks.
@hsgomesp every part of the last harry potter deserves more than just an oscar, hte acting, the visual effects, the music, the director and so much more deserves Oscar's, B.A.F.T.A's, Golden Globes, and any other form of film award you can think of, I hope just like the last lord of the rings the deathly hallows gets like 11 Oscar's or more.
but the awards don't matter, the point is that the whole world got to enjoy and be part of history with one of the most successful film series of all time.
This has to be one of my favourite moments in the film with the 3 of the standing together hand in hand on the bridge, the last time you see Harry, Ron and Hermione before they grow up :(
Bless you harry potter :) and you great cast you made my 14 year the best! I will miss you all so much tho.I was thrilled tho to finally see all the death eaters that i hated so much finally die tho! :) have a nice carreer ;)
I just saw the movie last night, &...now I feel kind of empty. I'll never forget <3 BTW does anybody think this sounds like the end music to the Chamber of Secrets?
@SoAsianTv I don't think so. This theme is more likely inspired by Half-Blood Prince. Wait, or it could be from Order of the Phoenix. Either one of them, I am sure I heard the same theme.
@NeoMirages Yes! That's it! Thanks a lot. It does share the themes in "The Kiss". Seriously, and why was that comment getting the spam? That's ridiculous.
@jordaniangamer Maybe because I sent my answer twice. I made a mistake the first time (english isn't my native language), so I deleted my first comment and sent a second one, almost identical to the first one. That's probably the reason. -_-'
I remember looking forward to the next Potter film, after that last film, I knew it was over. But I will never forget the films and books. Just listening to this song makes me want to cry. Now it is a new beginning, just without Harry Potter.
this always makes me cry every time i hear it. i will just bawl and bawl. these books helped me through the darkest parts of my life, they were my fictional friends. and made me want to be brave. a new beginning symbolizes the end of an era. even though harry potter will always live on, forever. <3
This song reminds me that JK Rowling has given me the best 14 years ever. I am completely and utterly depressed that it is over, and I have no idea when I will feel complete again, but I know the story had a good end. Harry Potter will never be gone <3
"The stories we love best do live in us forever. Whether you come back by page or the big screen, Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home." Dan Radcliffe
the best 10 years of my life are because of JK Rowlings unbelieveable and phenominal imagination and her extraordinary vision of what entertainment is:) thank you so much for letting us make new friends and join a new family that we will treasure in our hearts forever:')
this, is the most beautiful piece of music to match the most beautiful ending of an indescribable 10 years of my childhood, i was 6 when it started and i am 16 now it has finished. i will never be able to articulate how much harry potter means to me. i love you J.K. Rowling, thank you.
Such an emotional piece and so nostalgic :) my favourite

If my life were a film, I would want this song to end it.

Listening to this song while applying mascara...not the best idea. I just had to redo it all, I'm sure you can guess why.

Harry Potter will never end...He'll never be gone not as long as those who remain are loyal to him
Thanks J.K. Rowling, for making me believe in magic, even more

I just saw the movie last night, &...now I feel kind of empty. I'll never forget <3 BTW does anybody think this sounds like the end music to the Chamber of Secrets?
SoAsianTv 7 months ago 3
@SoAsianTv I don't think so. This theme is more likely inspired by Half-Blood Prince. Wait, or it could be from Order of the Phoenix. Either one of them, I am sure I heard the same theme.

@jordaniangamer I think you're right. Actually, this song reminds me of the track entitled "The Kiss", from Order of the Phoenix.
NeoMirages 7 months ago
@NeoMirages Yes! That's it! Thanks a lot. It does share the themes in "The Kiss". Seriously, and why was that comment getting the spam? That's ridiculous.
jordaniangamer 7 months ago
@jordaniangamer Maybe because I sent my answer twice. I made a mistake the first time (english isn't my native language), so I deleted my first comment and sent a second one, almost identical to the first one. That's probably the reason. -_-'

It really is wierd to think that I'm going to get out of school next summer and not have a new movie waiting for me.

The best thing about the films and books...you can watch or read them over, and over, and over, and over, and never get tired of them!

I remember looking forward to the next Potter film, after that last film, I knew it was over. But I will never forget the films and books. Just listening to this song makes me want to cry. Now it is a new beginning, just without Harry Potter.

@MutantKids It makes me sad........im not ready to let go of harry potter :( i must admit though. this was like THE PERFECT SONG for that scene.
ilovecoldplay32094 6 months ago
this always makes me cry every time i hear it. i will just bawl and bawl. these books helped me through the darkest parts of my life, they were my fictional friends. and made me want to be brave. a new beginning symbolizes the end of an era. even though harry potter will always live on, forever. <3

Harry Potter 4ever. Thanks J K Rowling and to all people that worked at the movies too. I loved every minute.

This song reminds me that JK Rowling has given me the best 14 years ever. I am completely and utterly depressed that it is over, and I have no idea when I will feel complete again, but I know the story had a good end. Harry Potter will never be gone <3
