  • Is this a cheap shot at James Burke?

  • *in the last take* 'WHICH COULD SEE FURTHAR, THAN THE HUMAN EYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEE'

  • There's definitely some terminal David Bellamy in this character.

  • Mark Horton... Definitely Mark Horton.

  • Hilarious! Amazing sketch!! David is brilliant!!!

  • Great skit, love it. Oh yes, and greetings from ALL the WAY from over HERE in the United States.

  • He's like the ship/coffin salesman from Monkey Island.

  • 1:13 HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • ..lol reminds me of a cross between David Bellamy and David Starkey.

  • Stan from Monkey Island, anybody? :)

  • This is the joke: Unnecessary gesticulation is hilarious.

  • Is this a parody of Mark Horton because if it is it's spot on.

  • "WADAR"

  • hahahahahahaa i love this so much

  • Much like Sideshow Bob and the rakes, the more you watch this, the funnier it gets.

  • lmao another of my favorites, I love how Webb pauses and looks over the camera at him.

  • You don't know how happy it makes me to go to this video and for once not see masses of comments arguing about World War Two. :')

  • It would have been a lot simpler to just tie his hands from behind

  • AND IT WAS HERE *waves arms*

  • RRRRRRWWWRRRADAR

  • Hee hee hee

  • Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrradar!

  • what happened to the part with the pockets? that is essential to the transition the two guys roping his hands

  • I would actually watch more of the history channel if it were presented like that, lol.

  • Mitchell really wants to do some History documentaries doesn't he

  • I wonder what would have happened if he said " Move your hands as much as possible"

  • I love how a person explaining a joke completely destroys any intrinsic humour.

  • /watch?v=Q6joO9iHLAA

another skit of mitchell and webb that made me laugh

  • i like how he gets crazyer each time despite the crews effort to stop it lol.

    it got funniyer each time

    1. just kinda taking the mick

    2. over-exagerateing it...alot

    3. he goes crazy despite being tied up, oh and i love how he said RADAAR!

4.he jokes about how his hands were fine but instead his head went crazy.

  • i talk a bit like that... although when i do it my hands end up in people's faces...

  • They should do one with the excessive twitching of models trying to be announcers.

  • This is the exact opposite of the Whitest Kids U know sketch "Happier and with your mouth more open"

  • I'd watch that.

  • I love the way he says the last "Cut" with such desperation.

  • @QwaarJet it sounds like a deprest lazer...or Invisible beams of electromagnetic energy that could see further than the human eye, the great british secret weapon RADAAR!

  • I giggled like a little girl.

    Hilarious.

What is it with documentary presenters and arm movement?

  • haha epic, this show desperately needs to be released sans laughter track

  • 1:15 - 1:18 makes me laugh so much every time i see it!

  • @MrSam1221 Me too! You can actually hear the jacket-fabric rustle! XD

  • @LuRawen haha yeah its hilarious that, they could not have picked someone better than him for that role! :D

  • toooooo good

  • 6 people have a problem with waving their arms

  • i think this is the parody of a documentary where the presenter moves his head alot.

  • I think this is my favourite M&W sketch :')

  • This video is the Mitchell and Webb one that I've laughed at the most because the highest rated comments weren't dickheads quoting (and spoiling) the punchline, voted up by other unimaginative dickheads.

    Keep it up guys.

  • Its Stan off Monkey Island!

  • troll arms

  • there is something very endearing about this "wrongness".

  • history programs would be so much better if the presenters did that.

  • WAYDAR

  • @solrock220 PWECISELY!

  • This is one of my favourites

  • Lol- 'what Charles I thought the hands were pretty calm that time' xD

  • The third take is really the high point.

  • @nonindividual Yep, laughed out loud at that one. In the office :(

  • ELECTROMAGNETICENERGY!!

  • THE GREAT BRITISH SECRET WEAPON--

    RWWAAAAAYDAR!

  • i it only me who thinks of stan?

  • missed out the bit where his hands are in his pockets ;)

  • wow i thought it was just me and Boris Johnson that did that :)

  • All the sketches about filming and theater issues so clearly reflect experiences that they've had... this sort of thing, while not to this extent, is a part of the process that is completely obscured by their unbelievability to captivate one's attention from the very beginning of even the simplest of their sketches to the end.

  • HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA there's no sketch ive not laughed at by these guys

  • I lold so hard!

  • HILARIOUS! This makes me laugh out loud every time I see it.

  • I know people who do that x

  • sadly you missed out one of theise. the one were he has his hands in his pockets.

  • in tears.

  • rofl ''thought my arms were rather good on that one''. Quality

  • WAYDAH!

  • The funniest thing on YouTube, the only thing that has made me laugh with tears in my eyes, no joke!!!

  • LMFAO! What a brilliant sketch!!

  • I love when he points his fingers!

  • i thought the arms were ok on that one xD

  • "And it was here" I begin to piss myself!

  • it's just a repeat of the "Now We Know" joke from the first radio series :(

  • 1:14 is the my favorite part

  • @ItachiCosplay yeah!

  • This is a satire of all those TV historians (the king of whom is the ultra-posh Dan Cruickshank) who think that by waving their hands around it makes what they are saying SO much more interesting. This affectation can be seen throughout the media and became particularly fashionable with politicians in the 90s in order to show their "sincerity". Obviously the idea originated from the PR/psychology industry in the USA. The master of this is Tony "I'm a pretty straight kinda guy" Blair.

  • @38dragoon38 Well it definitely make the historians more interesting...lol!

  • " i thought the arms were pretty good on that one!" LMAOOO

i love it when he puts them in his pockets

  • LOL! My stomach hurts now!!

  • ive been laughing at how wildly historical documentary makers move their arms for years, glad im not teh only one

  • LOL arm spasm :L

  • HO-LY SHIT! That was funny as hell!

  • LMFAO

  • Hahaha!, pissing myself here!!.

  • THAT WAS SO FUCKING FUNNY

  • RADAR!!

  • WOFL!!

  • LOL, He reminds me of Mark Houghton off 'Coast' :)

  • yes!!!! I think it must surely be a spoof of him!
