olle fijate que cada vez que inserto my USB en el ps2 nunca encruentra los archivos y dice no media files found on pendrive....ya use como 5 memorias diferentes y el AR max nunca lee nada!!!

@andree1991 necesitas utilisar otro dispositivo, recuerda que el PS2 y su technologia datan de los 90's, no reconoce dispositivos de mucha capacidad o que no soporten usb 1.1. recomiendo que utilizes dispositivos de menos de una giga para la instalacion, los viejos funcionan mejor. talves tengas uno guardado por ayi. El que fuciono mejor para mi era un Memorex de 128mb de mas de 10 años de viejo, sigue buscando.

you don't need a fat ps2 or ar-max! I used Swap Magic and the sensor blocking mod for the slimline!

Hola amigo mira tengo un problema y quisiera saber si me pues ayudar, mira tengo un PS2 Fat modelo 39001 y le acabo de instalar el Free MCBoot para usar el HDLoader y guardar los juegos en HDD (Disco Duro) y todo funcionaba ala perfección guarde juegos en HDD y jugué y bueno lo apague pero la próxima vez que quise jugar me puso que no encontraba ningún HDD (Hadrware error) que tales estaba mal conectado pero lo volví a poner y nada pero el PS2 sigue funcionando en todo

either evo or the regular one, as long as max media player is labeled on the box, this are older versions, the more recent versions do not have max media player, we can all guess as to why. if you cant find AR, there are different methods that use codebreaker, gameshark, or even ps1 trigger discs, look for independence exploit.

Copy the launch elf to the mc... it will show as corrupted data. You don't need the media player any version of AR will work... noob =P

You don't need max media creator if you just want McBoot, although you will if you want 1.8.

I tried installing 1.5, then tried 1.7, and both installations worked with no problem.

Only thing I can't figure out is how to play burned ps1 games without the swap trick or mod chip. I figured that the point of soft modding a PS2 was to play burned games without having to do anything extra, although being able to run emulators and movies is nice too.

this version will not work, all armax transfer game saves, but we are not dealing with game saves, the version you get must include MAXX MEDIA PLAYER. otherwise it will not work for this mod

partially correct, burned copy of armax will not work, it has to be a factory pressed original

the version i used is 3.4, it is hard to know the version number as it is written on the hub of the disc. the easiest way to know is the fact that Max media player will be labeled on the box. Stay away from the versions currently sold at Best Buy, they do not include Max Media Player even though it is wrongly mentioned on their website. try smaller retailers like game stop and game crazy.

run them from UlaunchElf once the system is soft moded, you can also set up shortcuts in MCboot options. keep in mind that some of these emulators are old and are not entirely compatible with Mc boot.

there could be an issue with your Memory Card, consider a different MC, formatting your existing MC. also, remember to change paths of the utilities once MCboot is installed to the MC0 and not to the MASS.

its a trial and error process since the PS2 is friendly to thumb drives depending on the PS2 model variant, the general rule is to use major brands like lexar,memorex,pny,sony,etc. the only major brand that is known not to work is kingston. i used emprex 1gb, memorex 128mb, microcenter 2gb, lexar firefly 1gb. remember that you may need to pull and insert the thumb drive a couple of times at the media player screen, the PS2 should eventually detect the media .ELF files.

if you have the USB flash drive that comes with some versions of armax, dont use it, it does not work with this exploit, but it will work to run ELF once the exploit is installed.

This can also be done with a PS/2 that uses the Independence exploit. Works also most the same way. I didn't have to do anything to the Lexar 256 Meg Pen drives I use. 100% compatible with my fat PS/2 . You can then make FMCB memory cards for your friends with either fat or slim PS/2s by selecting the multisystem option instead of the normal option when you run the MCboot elf on the pen drive.

independence exploit works great on Fat PS2 but not on slims, the exploit was removed from slim versions that enabled independece,(PS1 trigger disk) to work. for slim PS2 you need a boot app like ARMAX, some slims can also use codebreaker and some media player versions of Gameshark.

Fat PS2 uses 1.1 USB, make sure the thumb drive is compatible with this earlier standard, you can also try flash based MP3 players. P.S. glad to help but do avoid the 1337 speak, its annoying.

you should be able to if it supports USB 1.1 and can be used as a flash drives, most flash based mp3 players can do this. you can use older USB thumb drives that are smaller than 1gb, i use a memorex 128mb thumb drive for the installs, remember that if the thumb drive is smaller thatn 2Gb, it must be formatted to FAT16, nor FAT32 or NTFS. FAT32 is ok for drives larger than 2GB but its not stable for install, NTFS will not work with PS2

maybe, but i have never tried xploder, if it can run ELF files, then it should work, the only other method i know is Codebreaker but that is not friendly with slim PS2

Cogswap elf wont work with this. You have to use uLaunchELF to use it. And I always have to press other buttons like L1 when selecting ELF file from ps2 menu. Can I just press X?

Well I have all the required files however I am using the original pendrive (16MB) that comes with it and its formatted as FAT16 and in the Media player section it just won't show the file to start this process, I have an AR MAX v3.36 if that one doesnt work then alright, if I need to get a pendrive thats formatted as FAT32 then alright if not then I have no clue how to get the files to read from the pendrive, even though it does detect the pendrive and cannot find any media files. Request help

the PS2 is very picky and unpredictable when it comes to USB thumb drives, try pulling and reinserting the drives several times at the media max player screen, the files should be found. for installing the exploit, it is best to use the smallest drive from a major brand,

try the latest version of FCEU, the version you may have gotten trough SKSapps may not be up to date, this is specially unfriendly to slim PS2, just do a search for FCEU PS2. the version i used is v955

the MCboot must be installed on an memory card, everything else can be run of a USB HDD, look up tutorials on HD loader for that, there is a lot of good info over at SKS apps forum

once you run the FMCB installer, all the necessary files should be in the right paths by default.The codebreaker install method from sks aps uses a different install package that may use diferent paths or miss some files, i could not run codebreaker on y machine, the usb will lock on boot. i recomend getting ARMAX and try this method or post your issue over at SKSapps, they have an active forum

Or you could use swapmagic 3.6

Create a folder called swapmagic on your usbpen, and place the FMCB installer there..

Rename that file to swapmagic.elf

Now boot swapmagic, with your usbpen inserted in your ps2.
