I was thinking the exact same thought when I first saw this. The extravagance that we empirically allow worldwide is disturbing to say the least. YaY oil producing countries!!! I remember an article on the world bank refusing a loan to Columbia to produce oil because Columbia wanted to redistribute the profit via free health care and education for it's people. They should have said, we will build a very expensive fountain and an indoor ski hill, which Dubai also boasts.
