  • I love this song. I remember when it came out. This video shows that you dont need flashy clothes to try to hide how bad music in the 21st sucks. This is real music. Thank you for the share

  • @KissThisAce Well said my friend.

  • @EmariePeddlehead got u beat im 16

  • @EmariePeddlehead im 19 dip shit its called being born in January

  • I remember when this came out, this DJ saying "your dose of bagpipe rock & roll". Lots of people thought they played bagpipes on this one. I've always loved this song.

  • Im 19.

    I was born in '93

Im proud to say i actually know this song and absolutely adore it.

Not all of us in the younger generation have total crap music taste xD

  • @Muhammedalisha Right with you. I'm a '93 and I adore all things retro. Go us!

  • @Muhammedalisha no one really gives af. i was born in 91 you dont see me bragging

  • @Muhammedalisha 19?! very nice effort, very nice indeed. Im 24 born in '87 and i prefer alot of the older tunes compared to music these days, much to all my mates disgust hahaha. Even people from older generations are amazed in my taste in music so youve done well :)

  • @Akmatslaav haha thanks. yea my friends poke fun at me all the time. cause im like change the radio station to the oldies and all they wanna listen to is modern day junk. No fun in my opinion lol

  • @Muhammedalisha yeah fully, i always try to crank the old tunes at parties but i just get yelled at lmao

  • @Muhammedalisha I'm 19 too and was raised on 80s music. :) is all I have to say.

  • @Muhammedalisha I'M 47 AND THAT IS COOL TO HEAR !!!

  • @Muhammedalisha 17 here! 60's, 70's, and 80's <3

  • @Muhammedalisha you realise it's impossible to be 19 if you were born in 93 right?

  • @HoppoLOL yea i noticed hahaha i totally messed that one up. I was thinking ahead of myself xP

  • @Muhammedalisha I actually grew up in the 80's, with this song, as well as may others that people of your hipster-esque caliber will spend ages trying to re-create to fulfill their lack of creativity and culture. Go read a book.

  • @JungleLeggs I do believe you meant to put "many" its ok though people mess up sometimes.... and while i may not be a hipster i agree people from my generation will have a difficult time creating such great songs such as ones from the 80s. Oh and about the reading a book, i am at the moment reading a book. Its called The Zombie Survival Guide....quite interesting if I do say so myself :)

  • @Muhammedalisha you can't be 19 and born in 93.. fucking dumb.

  • @LydaFoundation Yes, i realize this was ignorant of me. But if you had read other comments you would of realized that this has already been said. so good day to you.

  • @Muhammedalisha good call :)

  • @Muhammedalisha although the youth is still clearly unanimously under-educated in the subject of math...

  • @Muhammedalisha I was a junior in college at the time this song came out and this was one of my favs! Good for you, kiddo, for liking retro music:-)

  • @masterphineas are you serious, plaid shirt tucked in the jeans, isn't that what your favorite band Jonas Brothers wear at their concerts?

  • RIP stuart

  • great band great times worn the check shirts lol

    RIP stuart

  • I used to listen to the beatles and stuff like Tell Laura, or pretty blue eyes when I was 13 or fourteen in the 80's so I'm not surprised some of the youngsters of today listen to the 80's songs.

  • I'm 41 and have spent most of my time acquainting my children of this absolutely brilliant time in music. I wanted them to have a deep appreciation for what Music actually is, rather than the crap my kids call "music" that's played nowadays. I just learned that the singer (and what a cutie) took his own life, I am so sad. An end of an era, for sure.

  • @lukavarga1 YOU ''HEAR'' THIS SONG BUT SOMEHOW YOU ARE DEAF...

  • @lukavarga1 Well fuck you then. You don't know what music is then.

  • I wish we could go back to this era, i miss it even though im only 21!

  • Thanks to Chuck Criss, I'm listening to this great song!

  • @shibangshoobop You're listening to this song because of chuck criss, nope chuck testa.

  • Roy Nelson ought to use this song for his next walkup

  • they play this song at work all the time! It came out 7 years before I was born but I still l love it lol

  • @rawrzipan Me too.I wasnt born when this song was made but I fell in love with it the frist time I heard it and I make it my mission to listen to it on a daily basis.

  • What a masterpiece! I will play this constnatly on repeat the next time I drive up to Scotland!

  • this song is one that is impossible to ever get old. so fucking good

  • Saw them once 1984 Belfast. What a gig....

  • I never listened to anything pre-90 and this is just amazing, especially the vocals

  • Great tune!

  • Brings me back to highschool. puts me in a good mood when i play this on my i pod..

  • Shameless plug but when I was quite a bit younger, people used to say I looked like Stuart Adamson! Not that I really see it myself - slight resemblance.

  • The best era of my life. The music then was awsome.

great times R.I.P Stewart. You left us too soon .

  • the crossing was a great lp.

  • One of the best songs ever written

  • Great clip, great song, great band!

    RIP Stuart Adamson.

  • 1:16 he takes a pounding to the face by a stray balloon. ouch!

  • The best 80s Song EVER... love it

  • This song rules! the best pop songs were from the 80's.

BTW if you want to see the music video then go to my channel :)

  • Big Country Rules. One of the quintessential sounds of the 80s.

Back when times were so fun you can't even imagine.

  • @WaxHeadroom Yes, they were the best of times, I feel so sorry for the young people today, can't even explain it to them. Hot summer nights in Ireland, this song playing in the nightclubs, walking home at 4.00am with the smell of honeysuckle in the air. And we had soooo much FUN ;)

  • @gsm1881 You said it man. Wish I could have been there in Ireland.

  • Chris Baio brought me here ;)

  • the last comment guy is a hippacrit, which makes me one too... i love this world... i love our big country!!!

  • this song is like crack

  • It's true what they say - All the Good Die Young.

    R.I.P Stuart Adamson 1958 - 2001.

I'm 46 now and remember the brilliance of Big Country as if it were yesterday...

  • I don't like this song. To me, its sound is awkward somehow.

  • Wait ! Are they Lip-Syncing!!! WTF!

  • @HeroSavage Yes they are mate, everyone had to on totp's in the 80s to early 90s for some reason or another

  • Yamaha SG2000s would love 1 now they worth big money

  • thumbs up if you're listening to this in 2703

  • good stuff but the 60's & 70's still tops in my book.

  • @contrarianatrest You get the fuck over it. People are tired of seeing self-backpats here, and this isn't a fucking music-based match site, so take your "solidarity of tastes" BS elsewhere. There is NOTHING special about liking older music. Music doesn't exactly disappear after an amount of time, so people born after it end up discovering it, wow. WHERE is the fucking FEAT in that?

  • @xreddragonx calm the fuck down. let people have an opinion. dont flip a shit and waste your breath on them.

  • Is this song about Australia? I wonder that because of the reference to seeing the sun in winter time (sunny in December, for example).

  • Re: BIG COUNTRY

Ever Get The Feeling You've Been TREATED!

  • band hero

  • Love this stuff. Jesus. I'm 45 years old. What fun.

Wish I could tell the kids how fun this all was.

    They just don't understand....

  • @callmecorey66 I SO AGREE WITH YOU CALLMECOREY66 I'M 42 AND THIS SONG WAS AN HYMN TO LIFE NOW AND AT THAT TIME

  • @callmecorey66 i hear ya, but there is great music these days also, just have to look for it. not the kind of shit that is spoon-fed to the masses

  • @callmecorey66 i'm 21, man...understand. its beautiful

  • @callmecorey66

I regale my younger (22-25) co-workers with stories and have introduced them to "old" stuff...haha I'm only 44 but you know what I mean...and I was watching VH1 recently and was sad to learn the lead singer took his own life....anywho....cheers and smiles....

  • Comment removed

  • @callmecorey66 I'm 22. I love this song. I understand.

  • @callmecorey66 I know how you feel, I'm the only one at my high school who likes the 70's and the 80's rock.

    Kids these days.......

  • @callmecorey66 Im not suprised its all the shit being pumped into their ears,,,,,,,I was a teenager in the 80's and it takes some beating...

  • @callmecorey66 Mind you i dont mind the odd Lady Gaga video....( With the sound off)

  • I think I'm the only 16 year old with a taste in music, because I love this song, and all other songs like it.

Keep rockin, 80's!!! You will outlast pop for thousands of years!

  • @MrDrako51671827 Oh yeah, just because the music you like is older than you, it means you're better than EVERY other teenager. Goodness, where were all you people manufactured?

  • @xreddragonx We were all manufactured in Japan, with all of the other robots. Now quiet, Big Country is playing

  • @xreddragonx And plus, you don't even know the half of it. I hang out at my school with the other kids with the same mind as me, and the other 'kids' don't get it. They think our music is "gay". I just wish you could understand.

  • OMFG THANK YOU!!!!!!

  • i was in a nightclub in ibiza in the early eighties and this was all they belted out, still hooked to this day. rip stuart a sad loss to music.

  • great stuff !!!!

  • "Big Country," singing their hit song "In a Big Country." Such creativity...

  • @sluggoII Bad Company's first big hit was 'Bad Company' off of their first album, "Bad Company".

  • Look at Tony dance, lol. He's really getting into it :)

  • One of the best artists of the 80's. Love it!

  • Luv this song! But why does these great white bands always have a token black bandmate in the background? Not racist, just curious.

  • @LightMeUp777 Haha, actually it is racist, but dont worry man, racism is natural and shouldnt be a big deal like it is. Here take my card "KKK"..... Whoops... not that one, here take this one "Racism doesnt mean hate CLUB" LOL. Seriously though hate and racism is normal, just be happy with what you think and feel. I know I am, and yes a token "nigger" or "chink" is sometimes necessary to reach the mob, otherwise they wont identify with the band, wait whos racist now? LOL great song, me gusta.

  • One of the coolest songs ever, I listen to it all the time and find it inspirational

  • this was the shit 80 will live on brittnay who big country was a big deal he was so good.

  • I remember this band was in a weekly brochure where you could order the latest cassettes home.

  • Woww, woww,This song makes me remember my young days, It´s a very, very good song.

  • this was made in an era when music was still music

  • @miadamski1

Oh? You don`t like britney, lady gaga and all the rnb? Hehe. Some music will never die, but todays music is already dead.

  • 40 ppl are agoraphobics (fear of wide open spaces)

  • Absolutely brilliant song...R I P Stuart.

"If anyone tells 'em how I make my guitar sound like bagpipes, I'll bloody kill 'em!!"

    (Stuart Adamson, backstage...1983)

  • One of favorite songs of all time. Always cheers me up when I hear this. Reminds me to never give up. No matter how hard the road may be, COME UP SCREAMING!!!!

  • I love that Gary Numan's "Cars" is a related video... both are classic U.K. tunes from badly underrated artists

  • I grew up liking this song. I was shocked to learn that the lead singer committed suicide in 2001. Awesome song.
