As the Wall Street Journal noted, Obama's plan to give a "tax cut" to 95% of Americans is an illusion. More than one-third of Americans already pay no income taxes. His plan is really an income transfer where people who don't pay taxes also get a check from the IRS. In the past, this was called welfare. Obama's only genius is to call it a tax cut.
In case anyone hasn't noticed, the government manages the interests of the rich, while lying to the poor, asking them to go to war with countries that pose no threat, profit from them, and then turn around and tell working class families to stop complaining while our representatives live like kings.
And hey why be biased? Dems and Reps are livin it up.
Good to see someone with common sense in Congress! This man is simply saying what most economists, political scientists and other social scientists already know - mind you that for every political scientists who's Republican there are 22 Democrats and there's a good reason for that!
Tax cuts are for those who pay the most into the system. And people's wages are a direct reflection of their value. This guy is out of touch with reality even tough he might sound good as a populist.
Today, Republicans and Democrats cut taxes this year in the form of "rebates" that's for everybody, especially families.
That's a real benefit that will help us all. I'll bet this clown votes against this measure; I hope I'm wrong.
No, he's not, but you may be. The share of after-tax income of the top 1% has nearly doubbled (from 7.5% to 14%) since 1979. Yes, they pay more taxes than any other demographic, becuase they earn far more income! Yet, they are pulling ahead of the bottom 99%; they are not sharing the pain of paying taxes equally with those in the middle and working classes; tax rates on the rich would need to be much higher to distribute the tax burden justly.
"Even very conservative economists who have worked for the Bush administration - including Greg Mankiw, a former chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers under President Bush who is now an advisor to Mr. Romney - have publicly stated that today's tax revenues would be EVEN HIGHER were it NOT for the Bush tax cuts" - Jonathon Chait, a senior editor at the NEW REPUBLIC!
Then you sir are an ignorant ass, and have no concern for anyone but yourself. People like you are the problem with your country, when it disintegrates and youre wandering why, just look in the mirror. How, in the greatest economy in the world can such disgusting behaviour exist. Thank God i live in Australia.
idk to whom you are speaking to but it should be known: based on recent analysis of the economy and minimum wage, a tax or wage increase would be much more beneficial than rich people going around and buying things.
First: Socialism is on the right wing of the political spectrum, so is republican, in fact, they're pretty damn close.
second: I pray to God that you are not so stupid that you just vote republican without taking a moment to analze the issues that the official represents.
Third: Every time you use the phrase "Gay" in a deragatory manner you lose about a year's worth of respect from any intellectual.

Dear Nancy,
How about exposing the one guy who would benefit the most from the elimination of the estate tax?
How about forcing him to tell us how much he's got?
Why does the president want the estate tax elminated? Cause his dad is one of the richest guys in creation.
While you're at it, tax carlyle.

Income taxes are a part of the democrats socialist agenda in this country. That is why I oppose them and don't care if some rich guy has more money.

The democraps have ruined congress and senate. Watch when
they let the tax cuts expire and cause the largest tax increase in history and see what happens to the economy, and your pocket.
