You're probably right. I knew Clarence White played with the Byrds. I thought Norman played on the Sweethearts of the Rodeo album but I must have been thinking of Dylan's Nashville Skyline album that Blake played on. I've been a Blake fan since the mid-70s and my mind plays tricks on me thinking he played on records that would have been better if he WAS on them. Ha!
Very nice. I have always enjoyed Tony and Norman playing together - just the two guitars. If anyone hasn't heard their CD collaborations, do yourself a favour and find one to listen to. I think it's interesting to see how much each player enjoys the others playing - especially with their long and historied backgrounds (Norman having played with The Byrds back in the 70s). Two fine musicians who still enjoy pickin and grinnin! Love it!
Note how musically they play - not tearing through it like its a race and throwing in blues licks just for the hell of it -- the blues licks are integrated into the tune itself and actually fit.. This how fiddle tunes should be played.
they were enjoying playing that tune those guys are best you get

Some people only stop talking during the breaks in the songs. The rudeness amazes me.

That second break by tony was OUT THERE. He was trying to knock Norm off the tempo.
Very cool stuff, thanks for posting. I can't believe all the yacking in the background - oh well!

Norman Blake did not play with the Byrds in the '70s or at anytime. I suspect you are thinking of Clarence White.

@safeandsound100 I don't believe Norman played with the Byrds. Maybe you're thinking of Clarence White.

Tony Rice is a freaking beast. It's interesting how Blake pulls his hand off of the neck constantly while playing..
