I'm surprised that INDOT chose to not rebuild the Cline Ave bridge, even if what theoretically would be approved would be a scaled-down bridge to reflect the greatly decreased traffic 912 gets nowadays. But I guess it just goes to show Gov. Daniels probably gives major priority to transportation projects outside of Northwest Indiana over ones that are done in NWI, much as I hate to say it.

they closed it because they didnt want a repeat of the 2007 bridge collapse in minneapolis

Are they really never going to reopen it? Wow I would write a letter to the Governor of Indiana and tell him how the people feel about that.

@dvferyance Never. I don't blame them either, it was too costly and traffic counts were very low.

I remember driving that stretch while I-65 was under construction through Gary...oy. Not a huge fan of the highway...just too much of a smell! It's an interesting road for scenery and I find the two exits for industrial plants rather funny. Nice video!
