The songs seem too similar and too linear in my opinion. And I think the songs in Live it Out were more composed around Emily's voice. Maybe I have to give it more of a chance but the songs on this album are all just a little weak for me. The continuous guitar and banging in Gimmie Sympathy, for example, swallows Emily's beautiful singing (and in this case some pretty inane lyrics ), and the same goes for most of the other songs. The songs aren't horrible but I'm still disappointed.
