Hey, I'm new in Cardistry . Can you please give me suggestions on how should I start, what moves should I learn first and also what deck is suited for beginners like me. Thanks. (sorry for wrong grammars :D)
Congratulations this video has made me leave my first ever comment on youtube. The cut that he is performing is not for beginners. The fact that it involves a revolution cut shows that. If you want to make a video for beginners explain how to do the moves you are telling them to use.
@flamerider299 Nope, sorry. But in cardistry there are a lot of moves that the dominant hand performs better (card twirling) and equally many that the recessive hand performs better (revolution cut).
@flamerider299 try the cuts with both hands,i'm right handed but i can only do some cuts if the deck is my left hand and some cuts when it is in my right hand.
i've got the second one i'm still struggling with the first i've learnt the revolution cut seperately but i still can't get the two packs to line up in my hand without squaring, the packet the finishes in between my index and thumb goes too far forwards
Dont listen those noobs. Those are really good tutorial for beginners! Of course that is necessary to beginner people some practice to do those cuts, but if you dont want to practice and do it perfectly at the first try u guys shouldnt try to do cardistry. In fact those cuts are really easy compared to many others. Continue making those tutorials. You´re going great ;)
i wanna become better with card flourish and cardistry, i know the basics but i dont know where to start in the cardistry comminity. can anoyone please helpp
the second one isn't that hard, but there is no way that first one is a beginner cut. Also, slow down man, its hard to pause and rewind a video with packs of cards intertwined between my fingers.
@BelairUSN It's for beginners, not idiots. You should at least have some knowledge and card handling skills before you try flourishing fake cuts. These fake cuts for very easy compared to other manipulating card flourishing on Youtube. I suggest you try and practise Charlier cut for practice of card control.
@BelairUSN Reiterating what @TheChaosFactory1 said, a beginner's cut is not going to be easy right off the bat. But compared to a lot of other flourish tutorials on YouTube, my beginner's flourishes are relatively easier to learn and require less experience. Furthermore, I'm one of hardly any teachers that speak in their video. The presentation might not be up to scale, but I make a genuine attempt to make my tutorials as easy as possible. If you don't appreciate it, learn from somebody else.
@RobinRight1 Yeah it's more intermediate but tbh, if you can work some basic cardist flourishes as a beginner, it's going to improve your sleight skills massively.
Cool stuff mate! Thanks! For those who didnt got it: search utube with word "swivel cut" and pick first video you see. Very in detail explained very very very beginner xcm cut! (: just skip "feeding" iwhich is done in that tuto and ull be fine.
My only problem with the second one is when i go to extend my ring finger to put 2nd packet in my left hand, my pointer fingers extends as well and drops some of the bottom cards almost every time. But i think i'll get it after time. This is my second one of your tutorials, first being beginner's retention cut. What do you prefer next? I can't get revolution cut down, my hand is shaped funny.
@qpKarma Try the 5 Faces of Sybil, next. And keep at the Revolution Cut. I genuinely believe that anyone can learn it with enough practice, with the exception of people who have the hands of a six year old...
I love to do flourishes and am just starting to learn some, however I find that due to the size of my hand, I feel like some tricks are nigh to impossible due to the sheer size of a deck. Is this due rather to my lack of hand strength or is the size of my hands always going to be a handicap?
@vensyth i think both hand strength and hand size, may be a bit more on strength, cause my hands are normal-sized for an Asian and i'm still able to manipulate cards with not much trouble, i think training your hand's flexibility will be much better than strength in the beginning, cause even if you have hands as strong as a Cyclop's but no flexibility, then the cards won't obey you.
does adding moves to a flourish makes it a different flourish? cause i have just added moves to one of D&D's Molecule cuts and got a nice extended display.
@CopyCat1995 Technically yes, but it wouldn't be considered too original. If I were you and wanted to make a tutorial for the move, I wouldn't teach Molecule, I would say something like "do Molecule up to this point, and then..."
@jimmygee5 I don't have the editing software to do that. Needless to say I wish I had it, but I am not shelling out hundreds of dollars for some program.
@BiLLaR4sIiI Give it some time. While they are "beginner", they still require some practice. Most likely less than my other flourishes, but nonetheless... Can you be specific as to what time of the tutorial you are having problems with?
Hold the deck from above along the right side with your middle and ring fingers at the top and your thumb at the bottom. Use your index finger to break off part of the deck around the center, and then extend your finger to the left so your left hand can come over and clip it between your thumb and the base of your index finger. Watch the performance above so you can actually see it done. It's very, very easy.
my cards were exactly the same as yours
