When this song came out i got hold of the 7" single, and loved it, but thought it ended too soon with the faded jig. My local record shop told me there was a 12" coming out, so i ordered it, thinking maybe more of the ending. But no!!! it faded out at about the same place(3 minutes) Curses fooled again!!! I still have it (hey i paid £3.29 for it.) and play it when im in the mood for a good-time tune.
Not sure what you mean by 'original' but i don't suppose anyone could actually tell you when this first materialised. It being an old sea shanty so would be, possibly, 200 years old. And referred to Can't You Dance The Polka.
Anyway - well done to John and the boys! Hoping to see 'em back on home turf in december :0)
Love watching this - reminds me of when Ian Telfer used to be really scary - shorts, doc boots and tattoos down his legs - no! I'm not showing my age..
please upload more vintage videos. i love your music. it's so refreshing.

My thoughts always were that no one remake could be even close to the original, but this is something amazing,

@massholesteve, actually, if you by that statement mean post WWII, I believe you're way too late and off by at least half a century.

Anyone have more information on "the crew of an ocean racer (later arrested)", as mentioned in the description of this video?
