  • THEY DIDN'T SHOW THE PART WITH EOMER! >:(

  • I dont know why gimly did that statistically elves can hold more alcohol then dwarves :D

  • Comment removed

  • lo, different ends of the scale, you know what i mean? HAHAHA

  • Orlando is fine as f##k! And extra points for Haven where he fell in love with a black girl. I didn't like that movie much but the idea was so attractive to me!

  • "And what exactly is the point of it?"

Gimli with that-looks-obvious-to-me-look: "Last one standing wins."

  • This is kind of a reversal of what happened in Mirkwood, isn't it? The guard and the butler got completely drunk and passed out, which is how Bilbo freed the dwarves. And now, Gimli, son of one of the said dwarves, gets beaten by the prince of the Mirkwood elves at a drinking game. Pretty funny.

  • "i feel a slight tingling in my fingers...i think it's beginning to effect me"

  • Where's this clip from? I have all the dvd's but I've never seen this clip before.

  • @alicelenore I think it's from the extended editions. Those films are a bit longer and have some scenes in it that are deleted in the normal versions

  • So...does he win?

  • I feel somethng...a slight tingling in my fingers...I think it's affecting me.

  • @arbitterm infecting not affecting... just FYI :)

  • I didn't like this scene personally. I think Gimli would be much more used to ale than the pure wine loving Mirk-elf Legolas, plus he would never say game over. (Nor would Gimli disrespect women like he does.)

  • @Queenofdeathandevil9 Yes, and in The Hobbit we see elves getting drunk quite easily.

  • @Xerxes2005 Indeed!

  • @whtwolf55 his name is Legolas so it would be Legolas's.

  • Maybe it's the TV Tropes drinking game. :P

  • I used to hate Orlando Bloom just for playing Will Turner. But now that I read the LotR books and saw the movies again, I cannot but to love him for playing such an awesome character in such an awesome way.

  • @whtwolf55 I was taught that even when a word has an 's' on the end, if it's singular and possessive, you add an apostrophe and another 's'. People are accepting it without the extra 's' now though too I think. Though it might be confused with a plural word that way. Heh, sorry for the speech! I paid attention in English for sure!!

  • oh, I'm good at that game...

  • lord of the rings had several of the worls best actors... CHRISTOPHER LEE! ORLANDO BLOOM! IAN MCKELLEN! VIGGO MORTENSON! ELIJAH WOOD! and SOOO many MORE! i mean, isnt that just EPIC?

the extended edition is EPIC!! :O i has them! ;3

  • @huskyclaw U HAS THEM!?

  • @jackafa92 i DOES! :D you get them?

  • @huskyclaw NO, BUT SEES THEM

  • @jackafa92 YAY! :D

  • @huskyclaw lol, since when can orlando bloom be put on the same list as christopher lee?

  • @cheeseymenolikey which one are you insulting? XD Christopher Lee and Orlando Bloom are two of my fave actors, so i couldnt help but list both :P

  • @huskyclaw dude, bloom is nowhere near the standards of mckellen and lee. I am assuming you are a woman....

  • @cheeseymenolikey no, im a dude... and i prefer christopher lee over orlando bloom... i didnt state that in my last reply cuz i thought you were saying christopher lee didnt belong on the list, and i didnt wanna start an argument

  • @huskyclaw

LIV TYLER, CATE BLANCHETTE, HUGO WEAVING

  • @amel82light i only know one of those three ;D LOVE Hugo Weaving! :D

  • @huskyclaw ANDY SERKIS! and David Wenham. and Sean Bean. :D

  • @Sectumsempraish lol XD

  • @huskyclaw and everyone else..YOU'RE ALL FORGETTING SEAN ASTIN!! GOONIES?! RUDY!?

  • @blublub17 lol

  • That is such an elf way to hold the mug, at the bottom. And he drinks it kind of daintily, while all the soldiers and gimli just go for it, handle and giant swigs and everything. :)

Actually, if you haven't seen it, you should look up the full clip

  • justin timberlake haha

  • you would think leggy would know more about drinking games and such, since he lives in Mirkwood y'know ; )

  • omg orlando is soo hot *-*

  • i met orlando bloom!!!!

  • even in 2011 i still am completely in love with orlando bloom! and im soooo excited for him to be in the hobbit...even if it's for a couple seconds. thumbs up if anyone else agrees! :P

  • @dulcey4 wait, i don,t remember legolas being in the hobbit or are they putting him in now? not trying to sound like a jerk

  • @dragongirl461 nope! he wasn't in the Hobbit book, but I guess since his dad's gonna be in it they figured to put him in it too. since elves live a long time Leggie was probably there too they just didn't have him in the book.

  • @dulcey4 oh thanks for clarifing! i just didnt remember him in it and now i can,t wait evan more!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @odraudinglesbian He does in the Tolkien 'verse.

  • whaitr what?!! this was in one what movie?? like what part?

  • @movielova96 It's the 2nd one... Either I wasn't paying attention when this whole scene happened (which I probably wasn't) I think it's a deleted scene.

  • @prankpatrol89 I think it's in the Extended Edition of the movie

  • @prankpatrol89 Your right it is a deleted scene, but it's in the movie of the extended edition. So your partly right.

  • @mellyrox2000 Oh ok :P I don't have the extended edition so I wouldn't know, but I recognize the scene were everyone was in the bar.

  • @prankpatrol89 It's not in the second one. It's in the 3rd one Retern of the King. The second movie is Two Towers. If I remember correctly.

  • @mellyrox2000 Well I don't remember in which of the 2 it was, but yea the titles are right :P

  • @movielova96 Extended Edition :)

  • @greenlunni Unfortunately You have to be more sepecific,,, Extended Edition *DVD's* =( i have the extended edition on VHS o.O they dont include alot of the scenes in the DVD's.

  • @missyAY09 Oh, okay. I didn't know they had released the extended edition in VHS at the time. I thought the had only done it in DVD. Sorry! :(

  • @greenlunni Haha, ,It's okay, i just know that because people would say that to me and since i owned the extended edition vhs i would get really confused. :)

  • @missyAY09 That must be really bad, are you getting the DVD (actually the blu-ray, they don't make the DVD's any more) version? If you like the movies, I think you should :)

  • @greenlunni I've been trying to, especially because the VHS Versions are starting to waredown. But I can't find the blu-ray/dvd extended editions =(

  • omg orlando bloom is english

  • @3rixtat3 You seriously didn't know that? You been living in a hole under a rock for the past 10 years?

  • @Vanyaloth He's talking about the stereotypical sissy 'o my, I feel a slight tingle in my fingers' type thing, retard

  • Comment removed

  • @NiekGAE Excuse me but I think you commented on the wrong person. I would like an apology please. That was very rude.

  • welcome to my site :)

    nifalath.forumlt.com

  • aw, Legolas is so straight!

  • he is soo cute O.o

  • "the last one standing wins"

  • was is legolas saying? i can not remember this scene in german..

  • This clip is in the extended version (I have it)

  • He can't hold his ale!

I laughed so hard when I watched this scene.

  • lol... actually when the two elves got drunk in The hobbit it was from elvish liqueur which is like...super potent.

  • @TheRachelanne actually, it was WINE, nothing special, just WINE!

  • Why the FUCK are you discussing Justin Bieber in "Legolas's" presence?!

  • Well, an elf and an ORC would be even more "opposite", Bloom.

  • @umairrrr Orcs are the horribly tortured elves --_-- and the torture deformed them!

  • @emilons97 And made them OPPOSITES!

  • @emilons97 orcs are elves that have been deformed not through torture but through the evil of sauron (i think) he started making them after morgoth was defeated and he (sauron) went to Mordor

  • @dixiedixie447 Accually, im reading the simelorion right now, it clearly stated the first dark lord made orcs, that they were captured when they wandert to far from the lake where they had setteled before they were "discovert"

  • @eznieh666 fair enough, i did say i think as i was just guessing :P

  • @dixiedixie447 no problem, i dont blame ya, i just happend to have had a discussion about it 2 days before i saw this movie. also the book states that elves and orcs reporduce the same, but it never accually says how.....

  • @eznieh666 yeah if tolkien was alive he would be able to tell us but i imagine because elves have a similar body shape to humans, they would reproduce like humans.

  • @umairrrr They are more opposite personalities than Polar opposites in the case of Elves and Orcs. Your statement was not relevant to the subject.

  • this was in the movie in the special edition version :D

  • that was a cool part

  • I went through a very long phase with Orlando, watching him non-stop on youtube. A whole summer it lasted once and then I was into Daniel Radcliffe and now Justin Bieber so I'm a flip flop

  • @niceperson31295 it was okay till you said justin bieber... that only got famous cuz of Youtube and now he thinks he can sing... He migth look cute but he's really just another teenager.

  • @orliluvr1432 He can sing. Why else would he have gotten famous from youtube. He is just another kid, fulfilling his dreams and whatever to you. you don't have to like him. I don't give a fuck!

  • @niceperson31295 you are aware, that there are millions of little girls who love bierber... hes only known because of them, FAMOUS IS THE ACTORS IN LORD OF THE RINGS, everyone knows them.

there is still 85% of the other human population in north america, that doesnt give a flying fuck about some litttle teenage pop bitch.

its like when Nsync was famous, only little girls funded there music, and it worked for them, it will work for bieber hes nothing new.

  • @crazyhiho He's has talent bitch. I wouldn't listen to him if he didn't. You may not believe this but not everyone likes someone because they're good looking. I seriously would be like, "yeah, he's cute but i'm not buying his album", if he couldn't sing. And whoa! I'm listening to Nsync RIGHT NOW! whoa, weird. lol

  • @niceperson31295 only you and an army of little girls think he has talent, and only you and the army of little girls think hes good looking.

i think he looks like a beaver and hes an abomination to the music industry... a 16 year old singing about what he sings about... hes a little kid he knows nothing about real life after highschool.

and good for you, i thought nstink sucked in 2000, and i think they suck even worse now.

  • @crazyhiho Watch tv more often, you'd know I'm not the only person who think he has talent. Nevermind his looks, I'm just replying back to you because you say he doesn't have talent. I honestly didn't expect him to win Artist of the Year, because you know he's new and stuff but 2010 was HIS year. No doubt about that. Just because certain bands or singers don't sing about what YOU what like doesn't mean they don't have talent. You couldn't do what he does. Ur just a hater.

  • @niceperson31295 well maybe you shouldnt be so quick to accept what mainstream media tells you to, theres WAY better singers in way BETTER bands, thats my opinion. justin bierber is just a little cocksucker, and only stupid misguided little girls like him. artist of the year? yeah in a pool of shitty music, at a shitty award show, that has no meaning to anyone but mainstream losers.

this is a lord of the rings video, get out of here bieber fan bitch.

  • @niceperson31295 and @orliluvr1432 i seriousely hate the both of you for bringing up JB in a lotr video. niceperson31295 go masturbate to your obsession somewhere else. pianolar and orliluvr1432 shame on you for even provoking this deranged fan in a video about orlando. you're no orli lover i hope you fall down mount doom and never come back.

  • @dulcey4 You are seriously replying to a comment that was made months ago. Wow. okay.

  • @niceperson31295 yeah because your comments about him are still irrelevant to this video, yes even months later.

  • @orliluvr1432 thank you! some intelligence. justin bieber cannot sing to save his life, and i am glad someone realizes it! he is not even cute...

  • @pianolar I think I can get along with you just fine! Accept my friend request?

  • @orliluvr1432 how did justin bieber get brought up on a LOTR video? lmao

  • @VioletRose1721, yes, but this stuff is water compared to Thranduil's wine, so it's just beginning to affect Legolas, long after Gimli is too drunk to know which end is up.

  • This scene had me laughing so hard when I first saw it. Particularly since you had two historical archenemies going at it, never admitting that they could actually be friends

  • I love you Orlando: * I love love love love youuu very very very muchhh :*:*:*:*:*:*:

  • "I think it's affecting me"

  • All hail Prince Greenleaf!

  • @OptoOcto Hail!

  • this is the 2.best scene in rotk(sauron mouth is the best)

  • You guys can quit making excuses and justifications. Admit it's a mistake and get over it

  • it's orlando bloom!

  • @tomstephens100 Who? No one who was in this video (Orlando, Gimli and Legolas) died.

  • I love that he can't find a good word there in the beginning xD

  • elves can get drunk. infact in nearly everybook, they talk about an elf or two gettig drunk and passing out. but seeng as legolas is a higher elf it takes alot more for him to get a buzz... that and hes had YEARS to practice xD

  • but Elves are also more used to the really strong wine of their people so this is nothing for Legolas. He really doesn't like the taste though you can tell

  • I know! Everyone acts liek they cant, but if the damn elves in the Hobbit hadnt gotten drunk, it would have taken Bilbo and the dwarves a lot longer to get uot!

  • @karooyomitoheagato And the fact that the Elf wines he is used to are 10x stronger than what he was drinking.

  • I'm really sure Legolas would have won, considering the fact that elves can't get drunk! xD

  • well he did

  • I had a feeling he would... :-P

  • lol

  • what?! I don't remember this scene at all?

  • @RikkeLP its a deleted scene? or additional scene? not sure of the word but its in like the special edition im pretty sure

  • @pandaluver189 extended version

  • This is only in the extended edition. It's a deleted scene.

  • its in the extended edition

  • It was in the extended edition

  • wait wait wut ?!?! wen was this in the movie ?!?!?!

  • Second film. When they are celebrating the victory.

  • Directers cut/ extended edition. It's what the director wanted in the movie, but what the producers cut out ;)

  • Elves cannot be the subject of mood altering substances or effects.. Hence Immune to charm and sleep =D hence an elf cannot get drunk.

  • Hmmm...it takes a lot for an Elf to get drunk...Id much rather see Legolas vs Pippin or Merry. That would be interesting ;)

  • Lol, I saw this on the DVD and I'm like "Like Legolas could ever beat Gimli at a drinking game!"

  • at the end, Legolas is like, "Should i try this beer...?" he looks nervous trying it

  • to me, the irony is that in "The Hobbit" two elf guards got drunk and that is how Bilbo saved the dwarves from Thranduil's (Legolas's father) dungeon! so, elves do get drunk!

  • Must mean Elvin wine is more hardy than human ale!

  • thats the reason why peter tooked this scene out^^

  • Y? I still don't get it

  • Yeah, I just finished that part of the book and I thought back to this part of the movie too. The book DID say that it takes particularly potent wine to get elves drunk though, if I remember right. And the guard and butler drank the King's specially imported wine or whatever meant for feasts only (and to be drunk in small portions rather than in tankards or whatever they were drinking out of.)

But anyway, the drinking game was one of my favourite parts of the movie :) Thanks for posting.

  • just looked it up (yes, im bored) and you're right, though my book is in dutch it sais something like this:"It takes potent wine to make an elf drunk"

  • yeah but apparently legolas doesn't :)

  • yeah, i thought the same when i saw the movie for the first time, but it's a funny scene

and the wood elves in The Hobbit are, in my opinion, a little bit more silly, or rather light-minded and more human-like than the noble and more serious elves in the Lord of the Rings

it's maybe because their character developed in the process of writing the books

  • @VioletRose1721 might just take longer than normal if so christ imagine how much they drank :P

  • @VioletRose1721 it's not that they don't get drunk, they just have a higher tolerence for ale. Half a glass of Elven wine, which is what the guards were drinking, and even Aragorn would be anyone's. For the Elves? Maybe about as much as a human would drink of ale would get them hammered.

  • @VioletRose1721 It was Elvish wine, it's different.

  • @jazzydwi very true, very true

  • @VioletRose1721

ye but that was really unique wine =P

  • @VioletRose1721 It's cause they were drinkin Canadian beer!!

  • @VioletRose1721

You need to pay more attention when you read a book, because in the hobbit, it clearly says that elvish wine is much more stronger than the others, and specially that wine, that was one prepared for a special celebration that night (it needed to be mixed with water)

excuse me if i had spelling mistakes, english isn't my native language

  • @MrApuyapulina You are absolutely correct. By the way don't worry about your English; I have seen worse grammar from people who learnt it as a first language.

  • @MrApuyapulina Your english is very good! =]

  • @MrApuyapulina and you should pay more attention when reading a simple 3 line comment, what exactly is your point?!?!?!? are you saying the elf guards were not drunk? your response seems to be what i'd write if somebody asked me "how did the elf guards get drunk?"

  • @TheLydianRocks

MrApuyapulina is right. VioletRose said that the drinking game was ironic. A situation is ironic if the actions taken have an effect exactly opposite from what was intended. In this case, the intention was to let everybody know, that Elves wont get drunk easily. VioletRose calls that ironic, because she knows Elves did got drunk (easily) at one occasion. MrApuyapulina explains that there's nothing ironic about that, because Elven wine is much stronger.

  • @Troublesome2008 if that was elvish wine gimli was in the next world already

  • @VioletRose1721 yes but that was extremly potent wine, to be drunk only by royalty, which, suprise suprise, Legolas is.

I feel somewhat snippy, but I am 12 pages until the end of this book.

  • @VioletRose1721 but u also must remember that the wine that those two elves drunk were meant for little cups, and only for the king, they drank a huge cupfull, so it would be the equvilant of like 10 normal drinks, so yes they do but it just takes a lot more than what dwarves need lol

  • @VioletRose1721 i think that elves can olny get drunk on they own booze ;P (wine or whatever)

  • @VioletRose1721 yeah on elvish wine, made by elves

  • @VioletRose1721 sure they do it just takes a lot to get them there lol =)

  • @VioletRose1721 Hi ))) That who is familiar with history of Sredizemja, it is known that the grandfather and father Legolas long time lived in Menegrote, at court of king Tingol. What is the royal palace, I think, it is not necessary to explain. Wine there submit to time each meal. So Legolas the alcoholic in the third generation. Development of the enzymes splitting alcohol is put in its genetic structure. It without speaking about steam of thousand years of practice.

  • @VioletRose1721 Beer, Legolas probably also did not try - all wine and wine))) Security guards from simple wood elves which never were in the rotting West))) Till that time as Orofer took over them the power, I am assured, they and not in every year drank beer. Besides - they simple soldiers - import wine from Dorvinion delivered through Esgarot by it simply under the status is not necessary.

  • @VioletRose1721 those were tree elves though. i think thats what they're called.

  • @calebwright111 Yes but Legolas is descended from those elves. His father was the king of the Mirkwood elves.

  • @Vanyaloth Thranduil was the king of mirkwood elves . Mirkwood elves were wood elves but Thranduil was a sindar or grey elf like his father oropher. Thranduil and Legolas are an exception

  • "last on standing wins, hehehee" :D

  • i loved that sceneee lol. legolasss is hott!!

  • orlando bloom is so amazing!
