Change Federal Income tax laws - Arbitrarily cut the taxes by 25 % this year and again by 25% next year and see how the Economy grows when Employers have money to invest in their businesses Locally (state and City) cut taxes by 25% and "live frugally". No, the banks were forced to lend to non-credit worthy clients. This practice started in in the late 90's and continued. It was TOO MUCH regulation, not the lack thereof.

The banks were not forced into ANYTHING, it was not *loans* that caused financial instability it was the extreme leverage and FRAUDULENT bets that banks and other financial institutions took that made the entire ecomonmy unstable.

Look up the "GlassSteagall Act" and the ramifications of what happened after it was effectively repealed 50 years later.
