  • I LOVE THE SWORD FIGHT

  • Saliva!

  • Great film, loved it!

  • Such a fucking good film.

  • Why are so many people bent out of shape about the trailer/spots music? What's wrong with a little ROCK to get the adrenaline pumping? ^_^ The movie itself has AN AMAZING ORCHESTRATED SCORE (go to the movie site). Having the rock music will get people interested in seeing the movie who may not know much about Star Trek. Which will make more fans and intern will produce more movies. It's all logical to me. ^_~

  • yup, its a really fun movie, but it doent feel like star trek

  • it's not totally ruined. i saw the new movie as a newbie and i loved it! I't actually got me into watching the original series! i now love the 60's show!

  • Nothing against Saliva. But I think them putting rock music in star trek like this is their way of making it more "accessible" and more of an ordinary film rather than the epic space saga it really is.

  • When any of you write a song, get it distributed, get it used in an advertisement for a huge summer flick, and then go on to sell millions of albums, then you can trash the music.

In the meantime. Shut the hell up. No one wants to hear about your pretentious music. Unless you provide links, that is. Then I am all ears (no opinions, just links)

  • I believe that "Ladies and Gentlemen" is the new "Requiem For A Dream", which is the most over-used song for everything.

  • okay one question what the hell do most of ya'll have against the music in this and it actually adds to the excitement of wanting to see the movie. It isn't just "headbanging" music it fits the preview and even though this is off topic, have any of you ever fuc*ing listend to Saliva? not all of their stuff is like that.

  • Yeah Saliva is actually barely even hard rock its hardly metal either its more just good rock and roll... I been a fan of theirs for years now. Its far from hard or heavy music but it is exciting stimulating great rock!

  • No way would the fussy San Franciscans ever allow our precious hills to be hidden by high rises. From the avant garde, trendy yuppies, to lifetime residents who come here for the look and feel everyone will oppose it. It's hard enough getting a six story building constructed here. (Six stories was the maximum height of a building in a proposed building code that was put forth after the hated Transamerica Pyramid was being constructed.

  • Jesus tap-dancing Christ....its a movie based on a cult classic...nothing more. Its meant to be entertaining - if its not then its not. For those that seem to like it - enjoy. For those that don't seem to like it - try not to spend $10 to see it then rip it only to justify you did it so that you could rip it.

  • 0:16 new kind of lighsaber ? pathetic

  • btw Rain maker...its a folding Katana

  • Sulu has a sword sweeeet.

  • Comment removed

  • where the hell do you see a lightsaber lol

  • music? What music? Sounds like someone ran the sound track down a gravel road. Surely this movie should appeal to others beside head-banging idiots.

Star Trek fans beware. We maybe being flushed down a cultural vortex into oblivian. It was nice knowin' ya.

Is Mr. Pine going for a Christian Slater impression?

  • Who is "we"? I know I'm not some aging geek that labels people. Frankly, "we" deserves to be flushed down the toilet where "we" belong because "we" have proven that they'll complain about any new Star Trek no matter what. It was really not nice knowing you.

  • I ,as in "we" (as you used it), have not complained about every new Star Trek that comes along. I have referred to this obnoxious work and specifically to its promotion. You made a rather foolish assumption. "We" as I used it is the unfortunate human race that is being swallowed up by knuckle-brained arrested adolescents who need to be slapped in the face and screamed in their ear merely to get their attention.

By the way, you do not know me - but it's nice not knowing you.

  • It's not nearly as foolish as saying this movie should appeal to others besides head banging idiots because of the music in a 30 second trailer. Maybe you don't whine about every new Trek, but if you'll actually complain about this then the possibility of you whining about everything else under the sun isn't exactly a stretch. You're right about one thing: it is nice not knowing you.

  • Actually, Dan your conclusion that my "whining" (shame on you for that, by the way) would extend to every Trek project is more than a stretch - it is arrogantly presumptuous and . . . well, I was going to say "stupid" but instead I'll be more restrained and say "not smart".

Though I criticized the obnoxious "music", I could criticize the promotion more if I had the time.

  • TV spots gear towards various audiences on different channels/times, particularly for such a commercial movie.

I wouldn't worry about the headbanging music, or how stupid you think those who enjoy it are.

The film will live and die, quality wise, on it's own terms. Interested to see how it turns out, haven't enjoyed a trekkie movie since First Contact.

If I was to wager a guess I'm optimistic about it being decent in most folks eyes. Could be wrong.

  • Duckenheimer, I'm glad to hear your optomistic. That's always good. However, the rapidfire, "blink and you'll miss it" editting and overdone cgi graphics ,demonstrated in all the promotional spots released to date, suggest that the movie on the whole is aimed toward the dim-witted adolescent. If it's not, they did a peculiar job of promoting it. My criticism is of the promotion not a movie I have yet to see.

My contempt continues despite your disapproval.

  • Well gee.... it turned out pretty excellent.

  • go fuck yourself asshole

  • Think that up yourself, did ya?

  • give me alex courage any day, save this crap for ps3 comercials

  • What is this music doing with Star Trek?

  • What's wrong with the music? The film isn't supposed to only appeal to hardcore Trek fans for fu*k sake.

  • Who cares as long as they have the Star Trek theme at the beginning and the end of the actual movie. If its gets more people to the theatres that means they'll make more money and possibly make more movies.

  • Go Trek! Bad Robot rules the scene.

  • Kirk is such a badass! I cant wait for this movie!

  • No Kirk fight is complete without the "two hands clasped together in an overhand axe chopping motion" to an opponents scapula. :)

  • ya i like that move i think worf did it to, but i hop there are some realistic fights in this movie usualy they are extremly fake and coriagraphd looking.(GORN)

  • Honestly Saliva here is so maxed in volume you just hear noise :p

  • If you could make out that it's Saliva, you wouldn't happen to know what song it is too, would you?

    Thanks :-)

  • Yeah 'Ladies and Gentlemen'.

  • Really?

    I did not recognise it!

You must have better speakers than I!

    Thanks man.

  • It's Ladies and Gentlemen from the album Blood Stained Love Story.

  • Hell Yeah! Kirk-Fu wins!

  • go get some more guys and then it'll be an even fight.

    that's kirk for ya
