Yes, she did, and I for one am not blind to that fact just because I'm a Tarja fan. The reason why Anette sucks is not because she hits false notes, but because she sucks out all the emotion, the lust, the desire for the forbidden fruit which this song contains. She takes all that out, changes the tune where she can't hit the high notes, and churns it out as "whoa-oo-whoa" style pop. I watched this video thinking she might have improved since 2007. I respectfully disagree. Tarja's voice had a different type of emotional quality to it than Anette's, and I'm not putting her down. I think Anette brings a personal quality to the band that Tarja didn't. As as far as her changing the pitch, I think that's fine. I would rather have her change the tune to fit her voice than try to be a Tarja impersonator and fail. I'm just glad we get to see these songs live at all. It's better than them breaking up completely. Tarja is immortal in the recordings.

annette is a great singer, its just that she sings in a very different style from tarja, who basically sings in an opera style, as people have already said. annette is a more contemporary singer, so you cant expect her to match tarja for pitch or note holding, as she doesnt have the training to do so easily. however, i really like the way she's been singing the old songs, because she doesnt try to mimic tarja where its not appropriate, for example wishmaster.

More than that, Tarja isn't even an opera singer. She's just a regular singer with operatic training. If you want an opera singer, then you must check out Netrebko, Caballe, Gheorghiu and so on and so forth. Tarja is quasi-unknown in the genre of opera, most of all because 99% of her classical-ish carreer was based on lied songs, which aren't considered as opera music.
