  • Song? :D

  • thank dude, good info

  • can i has ur sonic hammers then if you dont like them? :D

  • What's this song?

  • My axis are VDL on lowest, and like 65-70% tightened springs. Thats death metal settings for me, axis pedals rocks. Except that they could have been made a little smarter, its a pain in the ass maxing spring tension for instance, and its even more pain when youre clamping it to your bassdrum.

  • whats the song, it has nuts drumming?!

  • I have a question, if u put the springtension on maximum do these pedal like feel heavy the last part before the beater hits the head? I´ve noticed that with my pedals that the last part feels really heavy and makes it hard to play fast cuz the beaters almost never hit the head (might just be me who isn´t used to it). Or is it like the iron cobra power glide that it just feels easier the closer the beaters comes to the head? :P

  • Good, informative video! The only thing is that it's kinda hard to hear what you say somewhere, a little loud music.

  • Hey I’ve Bought the Axis a Double Pedal a few months back its working great but I’ve Noticed that when I try to move the Beaters back by adjusting the screw in the spring Id adjust it to where I Want it then I would push down on the pedal then I would hear a clicking noise and the pedal will go back to where it was previously. Do you know what would cause this?

  • @AJCMovies As long as you tightened it back good after adjusting that shouldn't happen unless something is wrong. Loosen the screw and pull that part off the side of the main piece(loosening the spring all the way helps get it off) then you should be able to see if the main axle is pitted. If it isn't the screw is worn at the bottom and you need a new one. If it's pitted you can probably move it over a bit away from the problem.

  • @andy15m374l thanks heaps dude you rock its all fixed now

  • Whats the name of the song playing, its sounds cool

  • Nice video dude. It took me awhile to get used to the Axis longboards. I stuck it out, and im glad I made the investment. They are awesome. Love the video. Why cant all songs have drums like this? haha. Keep it up, and you should be a voiceover artist as well. Put some ads out on Craigslist. j/k. peace!

  • I hate thes pedals I have these and I cant get enough spring tension

  • @sacatreez Loosen the bolt opposite of the wing nut. It blocks you from turning the wing nut. haha The Axis A has more spring tension on tap than any other pedal ever made. You can put so much tension on that it becomes difficult to use the pedal.

  • @andy15m374l Im new to drums...I just started a few days ago

whats that thing in the middle of the bass drum called? the white sticker thing and whats it for?

  • hey mate do you know what size the Alen Key is that came with the pedals is becouse i did not get one as i Bought my pedals off ebay

  • i just got the pedals in today and i have no fucking idea how to adjust the spring tension

do you think you could do a really quick vid on how to do that?

    that would be awesome man

  • @adddaniel123 Hey Mate just go to the bottem ot the spring and you will see sota bolt looking things lossen or titen that and it will adjust your spring tension

  • What are the main differences between these and the trick dominators?

  • @RyanPlummer14 Axis foot-boards hinge from underneath the board, Dominators hinge at the back so the board is slightly shorter. Axis don't have the independent beater angle thing or the compression spring either. The Dominator double pedal is two single pedals with a bar in between, so if you take the connector off you have two fully functioning singles, I'm not sure about the Axis on that matter and the Dominators don't have a base plate

  • good advice, thanks.

  • the old songs?

  • is it: the higher the sping the easier to push or the more spread out the easier??

  • I got my Axis pedals 3 months ago, and they are really, really good. I played with the Sonic Hammers for two rehearsal sessions and then switched them with some older (ordinary) Axis beaters we had lying around. Those Sonic Hammers are pure shite to be honest. I don't know if anyone has any use for them.

Very informative video by the way. I've done quite a lot of adjusting to my pedals and this video points out the important parts i think.

  • when you buy the pedal it comes with the tools to adjust????

  • The Sonic Hammers enable you to adjust the angle of the footboard independent from the angle of the beater.

And beater height adjustment can influence the feel and perceived power and speed of the pedal a lot. Btw, your beaters don't really hit in the middle.

Oh, and solid playing on the track, good work.

  • Yes that's what they do, they're just extremely clunky and have too many moving parts. Almost everyone who uses Axis pedals uses some other beater, and anyone who wants to move the footboard angle uses toe spacers. Yes beater height is important. Putting it around the center of the drum usually provides a good balance. Thanks dude, I had to listen to the video to see what song it was h ha.

  • Clunky and unreliable, so I've heard too.

There is a somewhat popular modification though (you could call it the Iron Hammer) - the idea is to use the head and a shortened shaft of the Iron Cobra beater instead of the top part of the Sonic Hammer. It should feel and perform better and hold the angle of the hitting surface much better.

  • I've seen that mod, but I really don't see the point of the whole concept. The IC beaters are strong and light. The footboard angle is at a good ratio to any reasonable beater angle adjustments as well. I'm glad to see a fix though for dudes that dig the idea though.

  • i just got my axis longboards yesterday, and i tryed to play with the sonic hammers, the only good thing i can say about them is that because they are so heavy, they give the bass drum a good sound, but if you wana play fast, throw those peace of shits away!

  • 4:06 hahahahahahahah!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what do you think to the IC beaters on axis pedals compared to the sonic hammers? i know the hammers are pretty heavy but would having a lighter beater make you be able to play faster and more responsive ?

  • The sonic hammers weigh 4.3 oz. The IC's in rubber, weigh 3.3 oz. Only 1 oz. difference, so he's way off with that comment.

  • yeah but u really feel the difference when playing maybe that was what based on

  • Any idea on an easy way to adjust spring tension on the double. it's a fucking ballache coz the wingnuts are so close together underneath.

  • Yes, there is. You can move that whole separate spring assembly and put it on the other pedal so both pedals have their own tension adjustment on them. I was thinking of doing the same.

  • i adjusted my spring by hand and it wasn't that hard and i have the same axis pedal he has

  • hey dude like th song is it ur song? nice pedals how much were they?

    l8

  • The song was written and recorded by me. They are 250 each.

  • hey agen i live in england is it 250 dollars soo that wud b less in th uk mayb

    l8

  • whats the best way to adjust the springs? i'm not able to tighten the wing nuts by hand is there some kinda tool or what?

  • You will need a wrench for the nut above the wing nut. It's a 10 mm, but an adjustable wrench will work. However the wing nut at the bottom can be turned by hand, but for it to move you need that wrench to loosen the corresponding nut above it.

  • dont use axis, but i appreciate how u give info.. wish other pple did the same... great way to help pple drummers out dude.. nicely done.. and funny too

  • hey man nice vid and thank you! I got the axis - A longboards and they're amazing. I just had one question...I wanted to try the Iron Cobra beaters and I checked out Musicians Friend like you said, and I found what seems to be the same beater. I can't tell if it's the correct one and was wondering if you could tell me if it is, or give me the link to the right one.

    Cheers m8

  • any recommendation 0n the puresound speedball beaters?

  • Well, I believe most grindcore/technical bands use very little beater distance because they have triggers but whatev'!

    Good video dude!

  • Thanks for your beater opinion, i've been using axis hammers for 2years was never curious on trying my Iron cobra beaters... music is a bit too loud for the tutorial.. everything great.. love the beats.

  • You're right dude the music is too loud. I got caught up in editing. This is my second upload of this vid because the other one has someone else's music.I'm gonna delete this and redo it when I get time. And maybe record new video segments.
